I saw that theres a lot of cancelations, specifically from SouthWest.
I also saw this on Telegram:
The truth about what is going on with Southwest from a pilot:
“From a travel group:
My friend’s husband is a pilot with Southwest. He just posted this an hour ago. I’m not including his name or the photos he shared of packed SWA employee rooms at the airports over the past couple of days (in case his post comes back to bite him with the company—even though he’s stating facts.) He also posted a screenshot of a fellow pilot on hold with SWA Scheduling for over 22 hours. Anyway, here’s some insight for those wondering if this massive round of SWA cancellations is really all due to weather and staffing issues:
“I don’t know what to say. Southwest Airlines has imploded. Their antiquated software system has completely fried. Planes are parked. Crews are stranded in the airports with the passengers, volunteering to take the passengers in the parked planes but the software won’t accept it. Phone lines are overwhelmed for both passenger and crews. I personally spent over two hours trying to get ahold of anyone in the company last night after midnight. A Captain and I did manage to get the one flight put together on Christmas night and got people home. Kudos to the ops agent and dispatcher for making it happen. We had to manually input a lot of the data and it took over an hour to coordinate with dispatch going back and forth running numbers.
We spent hours trying to get the company to answer and get us a hotel when we landed as they’re all sold out. We were only put in a call que for hours before hanging up. I found one hotel with 4 rooms and we bought our own rooms at 2:30am. I even paid for a Flight Attendants room. We literally have crews sleeping on the airport floors all over the country with nowhere to go. Crews have been calling to fly anyone, anywhere, but the company says the system needs a reset. They have effectively shut down the operations for the rest of year, running 1/3 of the flights so that they can let the computer find and locate the crews and aircraft. Gate agents are in tears. They’ve been yelled at, cussed at, slapped and spit on. Flight attendants have been taking a beating. The frontline employees have had little support or communication. Terminals are standing room only with people having been there for days. Pilot lounges are packed with pilots ready to fly and nowhere to go.
Embarrassing is an understatement. I’m going on my second of three days off, still stuck on the east coast and still expected to show up in the morning with no schedule. And I’m willing to fly all day if needed. Because that’s nothing compared to the passengers needing meds in bags that are lost and mothers traveling with kids, having been stuck for the same amount of days in the terminal. In 24 years, I’ve never seen anything like this. Heads need to roll! Rumors on media are floating that there is a lack of crews and pilots are staging sick calls. Absolutely not true at all. This is a computer system meltdown. Thousands of crew members are sitting in hotels and airports with nowhere to go. This airline has failed miserably.”

Just getting you used to having flying taken away from you. As we are seeing everywhere now, they've abandoned their subtle schedule and are now just throwing everything they've got at 2023.
This was my first thought…WEF climate goals are for people to only be able to fly once a year and only so many miles. Like all marxist ideas, they must bring chaos and destruction to the old to start in their plan…
Hmmm... I just saw on 'the typical liberal' that one or all of the airlines are suing the Biden admin. Something about the convid vaxxes being EUA and the FAA regulations about pilots not having full approved FDA medications in their system. Basically, the pilots are flying with 'illegal' substances in their bodies.
Brother in laws ex wife works for Southwest and she says it’s their system. Husband drove home from Nashvilles today (8 hours) because Southwest canceled his flight and he didn’t want to wait. He got a message when he reached where his car was at the airport in our state that they had gotten him another flight. He would have arrived about the same time he got back from just driving after layovers.
Yes I hear its just southwest system they should have updated a decade ago.
Wow , I had no clue , the letter in the link that you posted was incredible as well ,, thanks for posting !
It’s all mirroing Atlas Shrugged quite well.
I remember southwest stewardess nazis kicking people out of planes if their mask was below the nose on their Two year old.
Karma is a bitch. Now do delta and American please. They all need to pay
...I have heard the same story...
...thank you for posting this....
I grew up an airline brat. My mom worked for a major airline back in 60’ and 70’s. We often flew nonrevenue by waiting for available seats. Often getting bumped into first class which was less crowded. Even flew to France first class where I got my first taste of escargot.
The planes were never full as most people just didn’t fly in those days. I believe it was the expense but who knows? We got real food on those flights and the stewardesses (yes they were stewardesses in the past). They actually waited on you,
I miss the old days flying when people actually dressed up to fly. Now people dress in pajamas. The flights weren’t crowded and the airlines bent over backwards to get you to your location on time.
Now the planes are just cattle cars. And no one cares if you make your connections or not. Since the Patriot Act was passed I hardly ever fly anywhere anymore. And the jab passports and mask requirements made it worse. Now I just don’t want the hassle. If I can’t drive there. I won’t go.
There's ALWAYS delays and stories like this over ANY holidays. Buttigieg in charge?
Personally, I think it's deliberate so they can start riots, since it's a civil war is what they want. But who knows!
I read that the software melted down in yahoo news FWIW
Airlines are all Company operations as the Flying Dutchmen.
So to speak.
See Dutch East India Company
The story is the same, only the vehicle has changed.
I spoke with a SWA mechanic over a year ago. He said they spent a billion dollars on a new software system that was no good. It needs to be replaced but leadership cant bring themselves to admit they wasted that money, but the system does not work. They keep trying to patch it to no good. Seems to just be getting worse.
This is exactly what happens when they decide to "move it to the cloud". It WILL fail. It WILL be over budget, guaranteed. And it will NOT perform better than the old mainframe system. All because some consultant firm told you it was 'inevitable'.
Source: Seen it first hand for dozens of large firms/enterprises.
Was wondering when this would be posted. SIL and family unable to fly out of Seattle on Tuesday as all SW flights were supposedly canceled for the rest of the week. So is it computers, storms, jabbed staff???? I'm not buying their story, whatever it is.
I haven't flown in 6 years. I'm tired of being insulted and treated like a terrorist because some MK Ultra zombie tried to light his show on fire 20 years ago. I did enough traveling, and I can go lots of great places by driving.
It's not just SWA though. They may be the worst right now. But a few days before Christmas and several days after ALL airline systems were messed up. Trying to even boom online was a nightmare and I tried multiple airlines.
Even stranger was it was just messed up for the rest of the calendar year. It was messed up looking to book flights months in advance.
I told my husband I thought something bigger was going on than just storms and staffing shortages. My brain is now conditioned to think logically and NOT follow what the MSM is selling. Something was causing havoc and system failures across the board.
Our government wants to know where you are at all times: airline chaos, cancelled flights; electric vehicles that won’t charge and won’t travel more than 300 miles without a charge-likelihood of being stranded anywhere; exorbitant train, bus and train prices Thanksgiving through Christmas. Al result in being unable to be with families. The DeepState thrives on chaos/disruption and unhappy/disappointed people.
Maybe it's that Y2K bug ..hit a bit late. KEK
The airlines cut equipment and staff big time during the lockdown. Experienced people let go.
Ramping up again could not possibly return to status quo ante.
Without the lockdowns and with airlines operating normally over the past few years, this would not have been nearly so bad.
No effect for me. I've never been on an airplane and never intend to. If I can't drive there, I won't go.
The software is probably crap because the bean counters put a price and time limit on the programmers. At one job, I told management that what they wanted was impossible in the time they desired, so they just gave up. They kept old computers running old software for a whole department just to keep them operating.
I have a feeling they are covering up vaccine deaths...
Sure we all do
"We literally have crews sleeping on the airport floors all over the country with nowhere to go."
Zero fuqs !
Howany reg passengers do that daily?
Cry more bitch
Maybe these big cities should stop giving up hotel rooms to homeless / illegals and there would be room for those who need a place to room overnight.
I'm sorry but for the average person going into holiday travel and not knowing it may get sketchy from volume alone is retarded.
You couldn't pay me to travel by plane on any major holiday. Besides the actual plane ride anything involving airlines is a special sort of torture.
I said that to my adult kids on Christmas Day. Their reply? Maybe Christmas is the only time they can travel due to work etc. Fair enough - but I, like you wouldn’t go thru it.
