I was thinking this too. Initially, I was annoyed that the case was set for after Jan. 3 and the swearing in of the new congress. Now, maybe it was by design? Every day...something new to consider.

And the longer the Speakership is in contention, the weaker the Deep State is in furthering its agenda. That McCarthy could not secure the Speakership in 3 votes may indicate he is political roadkill, unlikely to be resurrected. The DS currently is NOT IN CONTROL.
And whatever the House attempts to do will just be killed in the D controlled Senate.
THIS. If MAGA holds out and can’t keep this as stalemate then it’s a win for us. If they move to form some new coalition that only sidelines MAGA while giving power back to Swamp, then we have been played once again and I have a REEALLY hard time seeing anyway out other than torches and pitchforks…
