Attention, GAW posters! Please do a basic title search to check whether your post has been posted before? Thank you! /NEW is getting out of hand. Thank you!

DEPORT dupes! Thanks

When the Pelosi footage broke, I think there were 47 different "Breaking" posts with the video. LOL!
I know! Nothing more infuriating than reading about a story all damn day and then the next day seeing BREAKING or googly eyes on old news,
HA! I was guilty of something today. I learned late about the Hamlin video, so I posted it as new (very reactionary on my part). 2 seconds after I posted the Hamlin sauce, I searched GAW and saw it was posted 8 hours previously, so I deleted my post immediately. Hoping others do the same
P.S. on the bright side, I do love to see anons in full activation mode. Needed now more than ever
I can top that. A couple weeks ago I accidentally unmuted somebody on Telegram. I saw a bombshell article and posted it. As I started to think about it, it dawned on me it seemed old. I checked the date, and it was 4 months the old. I couldn't delete fast enough.
Lol so true. When shit like that happens, it's the only time I try to avoid GAW for a bit...to let everyone get it out of their systems🐸
And if possible, a brief "nutshell" is always appreciated.
Changing flair. Good point.
Attn. Moddy mods.
Please note: Perhaps one also needs to take into account that we've pedes from all around the world here, so posts that come and get views between 0:00 and 12:00 are often not seen by pedes who are checking out GAW between 13:00 and 23:00.
In this case, a few duplicates helps. We who are asleep when the USA is awake often see an entirely different board, including different stickies, different HOT posts, and different NEW posts. So the random duplicate say 8 or 10 hours apart I think has benefits.
But when you have, say, 10 or 20 DUPES being posted within an 8 hour or 12 hour period, that's when you've got problems.
In such cases, I'll be happy to deport the dupes.
That's interesting. Good point. One thing, we generally allowed duplicates that are from different sources and that are providing analysis from different perspectives. We just mean breaking news and stuff like that.
I don't mind an eight-hour dupe as I'm on the night shift. However, it's annoying to see the exact same post every five down the page; clearly posted within minutes or even seconds of each other. Looks as if someone has connection problems and repeatedly hits [Submit].
Now I bid you all goodnight. My bedtime!
Yes, the hundredth plea will work for certain this time!
I might have neglected to mention that vacations will be handed out here as well.
“Vacations” — an euphemism?
They're short and you get to come back.
And it is still a repost even if you start the post with BREAKING!!!
Breaking and fire emoji are 🔥🔥🔥overused 🔥🔥🔥
Thank you for posting this. Some of our most frequent posters are guilty of this.
Quality > Quantity
Absolutely. I see many reposts of things from a day earlier from some of them.
Well, I think one also needs to take into account that we've pedes from all around the world here, so posts that come and get views between 0:00 and 12:00 are often not seen by pedes who are checking out GAW between 13:00 and 23:00.

Thanks for this. It was looking like the MSM up in this MFer: everyone rushing to be FIRST to get story cred without checking.
Thank you! I always do this!
Thank you! Sometimes the heading is obscure so you may miss it on a search but the identical posting with the same header is getting out of hand.
Yep, the informative titles rule is also being constantly ignored. Clickbait all over the place.
The other day I searched for recall Katie Hobbs and results showed nothing. So I posted. Then I saw there was already a stickied post about it. So search does not always show relevant results.
I am going to be highly critical of our mods here. It has been a problem for some time now. So it is about time you fricking people! Big thanks for taking action as well.
What does this have to do with the mods
That you are taking action on dupe posts? It has been complained about for a while. So that is why I think it has to do with mods. Btw it isn't the end of the world. Over all mods do a good job here. Sorry if you cannot take a small bit of criticism, I have a hard time with that as well.
I hear you.
I know you do, that's why I made my comment, fren. lets keep on keeping on, we got a war to win.
I don't mind if a few people post the same things, but there's a lot of posts in between, but if you post THEN see a bunch of others posting before you or with better data then delete your posts WTF.
Like dis?

Just illustrating. 😁

Great advice.
cats, I've seen a post before describing how to best search keywords on this forum. perhaps you could remind me and post a unique thread explaining to the community how to find certain words and topics. just typing in a couple of words doesn't tend to work unless the words are in the title (need to be in order too?). one would hope that frens equipped with ability to search thoroughly could first see if a topic is covered already before posting
I had to say it but I have personally posted this before it does no good to post this no good at all
People don't listen. I'm going to get people's attention.
Multiple poasts on the same thing can be annoying but I just scroll on. If it gets too bad GAW goes to the background and I venture into other depths. Or go dig and learn.
The doots. Everybody wants the doots or upvotes or karma or whatever we call it. I’ve said it before, I don’t give a bats ass about it. My job is to disseminate info and get as many eyes on it as possible. I’m not here for a big number next to my name.
But, but....... what if they are from South Africa. Then it's OK, right?
hey attention whore dog . . . did you see this?
Many of the posts I put up get reposted, even the stickied ones. Not hard to use search community... Might help if mods responded to duplicate alerts, they never seem to.
Since posts are not bumped to the top like they are on a traditional forum there is an incentive to post the same things repeatedly so they will be seen again.
Aw, someone didn't like it that I posted a true fact, waah!
Yeah I don't understand why you're downvoted. You're technically correct. Still, do try.
I'm not saying I make repeating posts. Just that clearly some people do. Some of them seem to do it every single day. Maybe they would like it if I posted the "Daily Heavy Metal and Other Inspirational Music for Our Fight" thread. every. single. day.
I agree the Paul Pelosi postings were ridiculous, but some of us may only be on the site 2-3 hours a day and we miss quite a few items, so if someone is reposting from earlier, it's nice to see it as new. Especially if it's something that is not at the top but is also 5-6 hours old.
Which leads back to the drawback of the "black hole" format if you will, where everything sinks out of sight eventually. Not saying it is worse or better than an old-fashioned bumping format but it does encourage multiple posts on a topic.
