Your father is exactly right. As a Vietnam vet, he certainly watched many of his own friends and brothers in arms succumb to drugs either in Vietnam or afterwards to deal with the post-war experience they were subjected to. It wasn't just the 58,000 dead. His generation watched the casualties linger as countless more of his generation were lost to listlessness, apathy, drug abuse, etc. The war destroyed their souls and the nation wasn't grateful for their sacrifice.

Two of my uncles fought, and came back ok. But they've seen it.

So, yeah, it makes perfect sense they'd see this this way. As a healthcare provider and a history buff, my mind runs to Hong Kong and how the British seized control by wiping out several generations of Chinese with cheap opium. Unrestricted 5th gen warfare is a really ugly game.

The hippies of his era became senior fellows, professors, regulators and politicians, and are now implementing their Rainbow Gulag "Utopia". It's well underway.

Look at the horseshit the education system has been feeding us since the late 1960s. Look at the crap that Hollywood has been feeding us for the past 60 years.

Look at the Department of Education. How much has it worked to erode analytical and independent thought? How easily did parents submit when the schools mandated shots? How many parents have volunteered their children to ingest psychopharmaceuticals without any hesitation? How many parents have gladly given up their rights to the school systems if it would mean little Johnny could get a better grade? The programming has been so effective most people don't see it. (Why is the head of the teachers union traveling to/from the Ukraine?)

The war never ended. Their kill shot was to convince us that we were at peace.

Thank Pops for his service, I totally agree that we are in a war within our borders while simultaneously facing an onslaught across our borders all while "led" by a bumbling, evil, DS puppet. Everything occurring right now belittles what he and his fellow patriots fought for and believed was right and just. He has been betrayed by the country he believed in, as many of us have come to realize. My hope and belief is while he is retired from the battlefield, it is up to us to carry that flag of valor on. His sacrifice was not in vain, just handed off to all of us who realize the mission. While trying to sound upbeat, I totally get his despair.

It's all by design and seems to happen to every generation. It's always mass death followed by social decline. Before Vietnam, young men went overseas to fight and die to defeat fascists. Then they came home and had a lot of children, half of whom got brainwashed and accused their parents --who actually fought evil and fascism-- of being evil and fascist, all while those kids drove around in VW Beetles and Buses commissioned by Adolph Hitler.
