Republican South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem’s efforts to block China from buying up farmland in her state were thwarted this week when a supermajority of state Senators rejected her proposal.
As Breitbart News previously reported, Noem had proposed a bill that would “create a state-level version of the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States (CFIUS)” in order to curtail foreign Chinese entities from buying agricultural land in her state:
Currently, CFIUS is a federal board that approves or disapproves of foreign entities engaging in major U.S. transactions. Noem’s proposal would establish a CFIUS-South Dakota, or CFIUS-SD, which would review proposed transactions in the state where foreign entities including but not limited to Chinese entities seek to purchase land. The board, if established — which would require the legislature to pass Noem’s proposal — could block such land sales as it sees fit.
Essentially, Senate Bill 185 would have granted the South Dakota governor the power to unilaterally veto any purchase reviewed by the panel. The state senate rejected the bill on Tuesday with an 11-23 vote.
All of those senators are paid off!
This is how you I.D. the traitors.
Yep! There are a lot of them!!
We have so so many traitors that I don’t know how to begin.
Easy. Open the us government white papes and pick a name. The name above, below, and the one you picked are traitors. Remove them, pick another name, rinse and repeat.
Maybe. Depends what's in the bill. Plus, they may not want 1 person to wield that much power.
They are CCP assets.
From reading your other comments here it appears that you think Noem is a wolf in sheep’s clothing, so to speak. I think it’s probably best to delve into the issue to understand it better before setting up the gallows for the senators who denied this bill being enacted.
Years ago I lived in a place where voting issues used to be addressed fairly well. Both sides would put forth their arguments and then both sides would put forth their subsequent refutations of the opposing side’s argument. Example- one side was arguing that the library needed money for updates, replete with all the flowery words of ‘noble’ intentions. It sounded really good, frankly - until you read the refutation. In fact, the library had been using the same scam for years, got loads of taxpayer money handed to them time and again. They gave themselves raises, didn’t bother with updates they said they needed more money for and cried poor and needy the next time their funding could be brought up during a taxpayer vote. Needless to say, they were denied after this was exposed.
In this case, it doesn’t sound like handing that kind of power to the Governor is the best idea.
Edit: This may be a good time to delve into the CFIUS - who set it up?, how has it been working?, has it protected Americans or harmed them?, who is currently in charge there?, etc.
Good call. Gotta stop kneejerk reactions to headlines and kneejerk reactions to kneejerk reactions of headlines. Look deeper. Think more. React less.
Hmmm.
SD state legislature. Republicans 94. Democrats 11.
https://sdlegislature.gov/Legislators/Listing/68
Senate is Republicans 31. Democrats 4.
I would like to hear their reasoning why they rejected her idea. Maybe having that kind of power concentrated in one official?
I haven't verified what you stated but IF she was FOR lock-downs, mandates, et al then that's certainly a huge RED FLAG. A RED FLAG that would point to the distinct possibility that she is a RINO!
"I would like to hear their reasoning why they rejected her idea." I would too!
Ditto, plus...I’d like to see a wave of other state Govs propose the same thing all across our nation. Wake me when that happens.
Because they're RINO CCP assets.
We've been infiltrated for 50 years by Marxist ideologues on all sides.
50? lol
More like 250. The Vatican & Jesuit spies & double agents have been in this country since just after The Revolution in 1776 at least. Abraham Lincoln, post-war, writes about the REAL CAUSES OF THE CIVIL WAR with his close friends/contemporaries in letters that are all but lost today.
In these letters, Lincoln's associates plead with him to tell the American public the truth about the power behind the South's succession. Lincoln writes back that he cannot for it would create a "2nd CIVIL WAR 10X's bloodier than the first." And instead of North vs South it would be "neighbor vs neighbor" because he would have to divulge the Vatican's double agents posing as Christian pastors & Deacons across the country & Jesuit & other secret society details that would have also put his life in imminent danger.
Seeing as how he was murdered anyways, by known secret-society member & anti-slavery Proponent, John Wilkes Boothe, obviously.
Lincoln made the wrong choice & had he known what would become, guarantee he would have told all.
True enough.
... in one person.
You have to wonder who these senators think they work for, cause it is NOT SUPPOSED to be the CCP.
Why would they let foreigners buy land though. No foreigners should be allowed to own land here period.
How many foreign countries let us buy their property? Mexico won't let us.
I'm Canadian and would love to own a small slice of Heaven in the Black Hills but, I completely understand the sentiment of not wanting foreigners to own land, especially the Chinese.
Lease it for 99 years like a lot of countries do.
Yeah makes no sense, regardless of her so called "power grabs", letting China of all countries buy US land is bullshit.
Can Americans buy up land in other countries? Legit asking because I have no clue.
Now we know precisely which senators are aligned with the CCP. They just exposed themselves as Deep State actors. They never thought they'd be forced to expose themselves to the whole nation. The people were never meant to awaken to Agenda 2030 and now that they have, all the Deep Staters will reveal their positions as more and more citizens stand up at the local level and demand that politicians stand by their oaths of office to protect and uphold the Constitution of The United States of America.
" politicians stand by their oaths of office to protect and uphold the Constitution of The United States of America." The Brunson v Adams was to address this issue ,but...Supreme Court Rejects Request to Hear Case Seeking to Overturn 2020 Election. https://www.ntd.com/supreme-court-rejects-request-to-hear-case-seeking-to-overturn-2020-election_902714.html
SCOTUS doesn't need to hear the case at this time. They can pocket this case and dangle it over Congress from now until 2024 as leverage.
Always keep in mind that Washington D.C. is run on leverage. Its a game of who's got what on who. This is what made Epstein's operation so successful for so many years. Now SCOTUS has the ultimate Check Mate leverage on every member of Congress who failed in their duty to uphold The Constitution of The United States of America.
Always wait for the opportune moment before playing the Trump Card.
Good point, thanks.
They may have been uncomfortable with giving the governor this kind of unilateral power. We have to remember that the "good guys" aren't always going to be in charge. I do hope, however, that they will look at ways of preventing China from acquiring large swaths of land.
I guess they can't address the issue of China buying farmland until they address the issue of China buying senators!!
THIS is why no state is safe. The people are asleep there as well....no idea what their real responsibilities are. She cannot do things by herself.
The people are ignorant everywhere. Until this changes, we could be handed a pristine Constitutional Republic tomorrow and we would lose it almost immediately. We, as a people, have absolutely NO idea what the founders set up and HOW TO KEEP IT THAT WAY.
I am sick and tired of RINOS.
Man this topic pisses me off like no other. No foreign entity should be allowed to purchase one square inch of the United States. An individual US citizen yes. What’s currently happening, HELL NO!!
Calling for a "War Council" of SD tribes.
23 people need the "long tree + short rope" treatment that cures traitors!
This is part of the erosion of private property rights in the US, which is really the endgame for the WEF. The right to own private property is the primary path to prosperity for individuals and societies. Establishing a board at the state level won't do any more good than the one at the federal level.
Its a National Security threat. Don't ask, E.O. it.
They can buy all they want they're just going to lose it in the end
NATIONAZATION
Related Topics: business organization public enterprise privatization nationalization, alteration or assumption of control or ownership of private property by the state. It is historically a more recent development than, and differs in motive and degree from, expropriation, or eminent domain, which is the right of government to take property, sometimes without compensation, for particular public purposes (such as the construction of roads, reservoirs, or hospitals).
Appropriate compensation for the nationalization of existing private businesses is mandated by the Charter of Economic Rights and Duties of States, adopted by the United Nations General Assembly in 1974, as well as by the Fifth Amendment of the U.S. Constitution.
More From Britannica nation-state: Cultural globalization A bailout is a form of nationalization in which the government takes temporary control of a majority of a company and its assets. In such situations the company’s private shareholders may remain, but taxpayers (i.e., the government) also become shareholders by default, though their influence may be negligible. Nationalization, therefore, may occur through the transfer of a company’s assets to the state or through the transfer of share capital, leaving the company in existence to carry on its business under state control. Nationalization may also occur without any form of takeover, reflecting the original nationalized nature of a particular industry, such as public education. In the United States public education is government controlled at state levels.
Nationalization has accompanied the implementation of communist or socialist theories of government, as was the case in the transfer of industrial, banking, and insurance enterprises to the state in Russia after 1918, the nationalization of the oil industries in Mexico in 1938 and in Iran in 1951, and the nationalization of foreign businesses in Cuba in 1960. It is not uncommon, however, for industries such as mining, energy, water, health care, education, transportation, police, and military defense to operate nationally or municipally within democracies under arrangements in which taxpayers, through elected officials, may exert some measure of control over services that are required by a large majority of citizens. Whether such industries should be owned by private businesses, whose overriding objective is the maximization of profit, or by governments, whose primary goal is to ensure cost-effective services, is at the heart of debates over nationalization. In some developing countries, temporary state control of various industrial operations may be implemented to mitigate the lack of a capital market or an insufficient supply of entrepreneurs in the domestic private sector, thus allowing for a sufficiently competitive market.
Questions of international law normally arise only when shareholders of a nationalized company are aliens (foreigners). In such situations diplomacy and international arbitration ensure lawful payment of fair compensation.
States whose nationals tend to be foreign investors are placing increasing reliance upon specific treaty clauses providing for the protection of investments. Since the end of World War II, the United States in particular has entered into such treaties, coupled with clauses conferring compulsory jurisdiction upon the International Court of Justice. Insurance against nationalization, expropriation, and confiscation is also offered by the U.S. government.

The Suez Canal, owned and operated for 87 years by the French and the British, was nationalized several times during its history—in 1875 and 1882 by Britain and in 1956 by Egypt, the last of which resulted in an invasion of the canal zone by Israel, France, and the United Kingdom to protect their interests, which included maintaining a passageway for the shipment of crude oil from the Persian Gulf. The Suez Canal remains emblematic of the geopolitical implications inherent in nationalization when it is exercised as a means of asserting national and geographic sovereignty.
What is fun is ownership of land is just what it says on paper. So if the plan is to root out all traitors, and this is part of the plan, then in the end, we just eminent domain the shit out of that land and sell it to the neighbors. Its irritating now, but i have hopes in the end
What’s to stop China from buying all our farmland and just letting it sit there and not produce food? Bill Gates could be doing the same.
You must have not seen the many videos of high-ranking Chinese military men addressing the Chinese elite some years back.
In it, they speak openly of how America's breadbasket is theirs by right & stolen from them some time ago. Its an eye opener.
No I haven’t.
I've thought about that too, why destroy it when want it feed China or those who bow to you.
I would be happy if she would just block Bill Gates from buying up their farmland.
Wow…they’re losers
What land they can't take, they'll just poison.
Et tu, SD?
Use campaign financing, develop an ad right now and outside of election cycle, and broadcast this far and wide. Name them with pictures.
This is egregious. We can't buy land there so why do we allow them to buy here?
Tired of nothing happening to these people.
Excellent idea, time for exposer of traitors everywhere.
And then take it
Governor Noem take it to the people of South Dakota and arose their anger.
