Wow, those are actually people I identified with.

It's personally satisfying to see the world finally coming around to a point of view I've had my entire life. The system is worthless. Modern society is a scam. We are living in a Hell on Earth and being lied to every minute of every day.

Imagine a world where each person decides for themselves how to best live their own lives.

Imagine a world where the government doesn't pretend it can tell you what you can or can't do.

Imagine a world where the government doesn't pretend it can tell you what you can do with your property, or try to steal your property, or where you actually own what you think you do (because you currently don't actually own a single thing by law).

Imagine a world where the people don't go around telling each other how they must live their lives (something we have been trained to do by the government and other institutions).

  • All of the above are examples of jurisdictional fraud that all current governments of the world commit.

Imagine a world where the market decides what gets funding, and science is free to look at everything instead of only the box it has been placed in.

Imagine all ideas getting air time, without people believing a priori that the Truth is known (by them or anyone else). Real debate, without interjection of belief from an authority.

That last is particularly hard to imagine. We have been trained for a very long time to believe that "we" know the truth, and anyone who believes differently is simply wrong. Everyone has been trained that; all getting little pieces of the truth, with stories and false interpretations and dogma placed on top of it, all designed to keep us at odds while at the same time controlling us. All of society has been controlled through dogma for thousands of years. The world is controlled in intentional opposition through opposing dogmas. (Controlled Opposition.)

This is the nature of our reality. Imagine removing all of the control structures of those dogmatic systems (even the ones you currently believe are true) and then imagine what the world would be like.

Real debate. Real science. Real Reality, open to exploration by open minds, no longer placed into a box (The Matrix).

Both my parents (devout Catholics) - in I’d say the past ten years - have been saying the same thing. They believe Earth is actually hell and we all have to suffer here to move on to Heaven. It goes against everything I was taught and raised by in Catholic school. But the more I know about Rome’s manipulation of the Bible and of mankind for centuries, it actually is starting to make sense to me.

Sometimes when you walk in the light of truth, it can be a very lonely, dark walk, but you journey on, hoping that as you meet others following the same path, the light of truth will grow stronger...and eventually...as you journey on, you realize that the light of truth has indeed overtaken the darkness, and only then do you rest, tired from the journey, but confident that you have given your best, leaving the light of truth shining brightly so others can find their way.

I didn't consider most people on that list weird.

But I think I have turned the corner on homeschooling. And the public school system has been hijacked beyond repair. No amount of money can fix the public school system.

The fact that it's all funded by our property taxes is at the root of the problem.

I'm sure people on this board are familiar with this John D Rockefeller quote from 1906, but it's something I always go and revisit:

In our dreams…people yield themselves with perfect docility to our molding hands. The present educational conventions [intellectual and character education] fade from our minds, and unhampered by tradition we work our own good will upon a grateful and responsive folk. We shall not try to make these people or any of their children into philosophers or men of learning or men of science. We have not to raise up from among them authors, educators, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply. The task we set before ourselves is very simple…we will organize children…and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way.

I never had a problem with homeschoolers because I wasn’t really aware of them until I was an adult. When I saw that they performed on par or better than public schoolers, and when the only criticism that came from the system was lack of socialization, I knew not to buy into any stereotypes.

I have been all those except Amish, but I live in PA Amish country. Amazingly, my husband and I have all these in common, and God put us together.

Ditto! Husband and I love this area so much. We've been here for 10 years, and the Amish have certainly influenced our lives in many positive ways.

Sheds light on where DC_Draino head use to be at. Obviously, a city-slicker. In the 1950s and 60s we never thought anyone was "weird". Yet, we were all the above listed and more. Our Amish neighbors was a place to buy and learn from. We grew organic well before the word was ever used. Food preparation and storage was a big event. Neighbors would come over to help with the preserves. In turn my mom would return the favor. On the table, there was lot's of coffee with snacks and cookies. The men always brought their beer and sausage they made. Recipes were often exchanged. The types of jams made was beyond memory. Pretty much everything. I remember even a hot pepper jam, Pickles, freezing corn, green beans, broccoli, rutabagas, asparagus, mulberries, raspberries, packaging meat, and more. Ever have pickled watermelon rinds? Pickled Northern pike? To a city-boy, I guess it might seem "weird" to not know what real community means.

Anecdotally when I was young. I only ever found Homeschoolers weird. But that is specifically because the ones I knew personally fit the negative stereotypes to a T.

The rest I didn’t find particularly weird. I found two rather annoying and insufferable at a personal level rather then weird. Most of the listed groups kept to themselves and let you do your thing if you let them do theirs. Though the Conspiracy guys were more then willing to talk your ear off if given the chance.

But I did find organic food eaters and devout church goers I found insufferable and annoying. Rather then weird. As again at an anecdotal level. The ones I knew fit the negative stereotypes associated with them.

The organic guys never shut up about their diet and how healthy it was and how the rest of us plebs were killing our selves with processed junk.

And the devout church goers always judged you and thought themselves above you because they went to church constantly and observed every obscure Christian tradition and holiday. And probably unsurprisingly. Their kids were some of the most miserable people I knew. Only one maintains any sort of contact and relationship with his parents now.

All but the "organic" food, if bought, which turns out to be identical with the cheaper regular food a lot of the time. On the other had, if you grow it yourself, you know exactly what you're getting. I never use pesticides and have almost never used fertilizer, relying mostly on compost.

These people are still very weird.

The amish is not a group of people I would admire, although they have some good qualities. Devout Church people are insane, they believe in a fantasy.

Organic food eaters are both liberal and consetrvative and nothing wrong with them.

anti big pharma is typically most peoeple

waiting until marriage is a choice nothing wrong with either.

conspiracy theorists are mental...

How have these people been right the whole time?
