Most AI generated imagery has something uncanny that is easily detectable, like the barrel on the right guy, or the fact that both right and left guy has the same face, or that middle guy has a weird third hand or doesn't have the instincts required to use their hands properly (middle finger on the trigger).
Improving, sure definitely. But everything has something you can point out.
Hands and feet are notoriously hard to draw and is one reason (among several others lol) why they are focused so hard in art for uncountable years.
When the sample size includes an ass load of badly drawn hands and feet, it makes sense that it'd struggle.
Also, images (as in photos) tend to focus less on hands than faces or body, which means that it'd be much easier to artificially generate an image of, say, Trump with his mouth open as he charges with weapon in hand than "FBI glowie charging behind Trump practicing proper trigger discipline"
