A breakdown of the RESTRICT Act. This was not written to ban TikTok, but instead to restrict our first amendment rights.

This is as bad as it gets. Demand a NO on S.686. Oh and by the way, since those fucks tried this . We should start demanding a repeal of the "patriot act". ** do not comply with anything ** these criminals say.
Should have been demanding a repeal of the Patriot Act the moment they gaslit people into accepting it.
Yup. But more are waking up Fuck "should've"
Never, ever "fuck should've". "Should've" is a guiding principle. "Should've" is how we learn.
The fight is NOW !!
Demand a “NO” as well as the names of the people who actually wrote it. Whoever is writing this shit are traitors to our consitution. They need to be exposed.
When are people going to realize that unless constitutional violation are met with executions, then the constitution is just a meaningless piece of paper?
Probably not before they're no longer accused of "glowing" for making such a suggestion.
X22Report says it’ll fail. I bet Dave is correct.
The question is, if it fails, what will they try to splinter off and stick in other bills? And what happened to massive convoluted bills? I thought one of the unbreakable, sacred tenets of the House of McCarthy was to pare down and simplify bills?
This is a senate bill.
Agreed. I wish legislation was that simple but it’s not. Should be, but until we un-scumbag DC, the bills will be pork thicker than it needs to be.
I see another omnibus bill trick in the works.
I am bummed that the last Congress snuck in the legislation that it now requires 1/3 of Congress to contest an election in order to contest a state. I wish the new Congress could undo that.
This bill is a Senate bill that is currently in committee; McCarthy can't touch this yet.
However, word that Paul Ryan and Lindsey Graham are voicing opposition to this bill (Graham did a 180 against his former supporting position). The bill's probably dead in the water at this rate.
Counter theory, bill passes and will create scare event as patriots are jailed for thoughtcrime
I have jury duty next month. Commiefornia. They said masks, and I’m saying see ya never with that “rule”. Not complying for a corrupt court, or anyone / thing. What happens when I show up and do not Wear one? Of which book of law is that in? Id like to know. And who wrote it. The ones punishing, and “take me to your leader” is what I’ll say. Especially if I choose to half wear one just until in the courtroom. In the middle of it all. Take it off. Leave it off. Wonder what would legally happen and media tabloid would happen. Nice place to protest mandates while breaking zero laws. News worthy. 👀🤔🤔🤔
If you want to do it, go for it. If not, this works like a charm: Just tell them you WANT to be on jury duty because you strongly support the police in all matters and feel law enforcement is getting a raw deal from BLM and blacks in general; and that you look forward to scumbag criminals being on trial for their crimes, so you can lock them up and throw away the key.
Presto
I think like you. 👍 But, I tried that once...even told them how my dad is a detective. Guess what? The prosecution wanted me in the jury so badly after that. I guess they fought hard to keep me.
I ended up being an alternate jurer and had to sit through the long case, unable to voice my opinion at the end. Ughh! And, I was pregnant then, and nausious the whole time.
What if you identify as wearing a mask?
Please report back on what happens.
I liked Trump’s idea better. His idea was, “Let’s just find an American who wants to buy TikTok.”
Might as well have said “this bill gives us ultimate power, forever and ever, amen.”
Who PERSONALLY authored it? Get to the core of the problem and purge these people from power. Hawley champions legislation to ban TikToc and it comes out looking like this? This is not Hawley's work. The process has been hijacked - a wolf in sheep's clothing. Expose the fuckers who authored this bill, dox them, shame them. Shine the lights on them. "Handle" them in unpleasant and painful ways - drive them from all influence and power.

They are the sponsors but who are the actual AUTHORS?
This is my thought EXACTLY.
We do need to repeal the Patriot Act, too. All this stuff HAS TO GO.
The federal government does not have general jurisdiction in the states.
Nutshell
Literally anything done by anyone an any time can be punishable by government; and nothing done by government in this context is questionable, or accessible to citizens via the Freedom of Information Act.
Seems like a giant win for liberty and the pursuit of happiness
This translates they could restrict the conservative news feeds on; TRUTH Social, GETTR Social, RUMBLE, BRIGHTEON, BITCHUTE and others! VOTE NO!!!
I tried pasting the full proposed bill into Chat GPT to discuss it and it would not acknowledge and discuss the bill. It would reference other bills or make up a bills.
Edit: I tried taking it and discussing it bit by bit and it took it better. Maybe I overloaded it at first. But it still tries to change the bill I'm discussing with it.
Here is the response I received when I asked about concerns about violations of rights:
There are several provisions in the bill that could potentially raise concerns about the violation of rights for citizens of the United States.
One such provision is section 6, which allows the Secretary of Commerce to require a mandatory declaration from any person who is a party to a covered transaction, and to request additional information deemed necessary. This could be seen as a potential invasion of privacy, as it requires individuals to disclose potentially sensitive information.
Section 9 also grants the Secretary of Commerce broad authority to review and potentially prohibit covered transactions that could pose a threat to national security. While the intent of this provision is to protect national security interests, it could potentially be used to target specific individuals or groups based on their perceived threat level, which could raise concerns about due process and equal protection.
Additionally, section 15 includes a provision exempting the requirements of the Paperwork Reduction Act for any action taken to implement this Act. This could potentially lead to a reduction in transparency and accountability for the actions taken under this bill.
Overall, while the bill is primarily focused on foreign investment and national security, there are provisions that could potentially impact the rights of U.S. citizens. It would be important for policymakers and the public to closely monitor the implementation of this legislation to ensure that it is being used in a way that is consistent with constitutional rights and protections.

I think at this point I've pretty much swallowed the black pill. I think this country is a sinking ship and I'm going to get my college degree and get some experience and get a remote job and I'm getting the fuck out and moving somewhere where it's not like squeezing blood from a stone trying to get by. I'm going to take that American pay and live good in Thailand or the Philippines or something. Find myself a nice kinky Asian girl who will worship the ground I walk on and enjoy living the millionaire lifestyle at maybe 50,000 a year. Fuck it I just want to go be happy and not be stressed out all the time.
The path of least resistance is not always the correct path.
Nah I'd rather go be happy and not waste my life in poverty.
