It's the internet too, not just schools. Also, my buddy's granddaughter suddenly decided she was trans and she went to a private religious school. It's everywhere.
It's their friends too. My sister has been doing a good job at steering her daughter's away from all that, however the girl's friends are still affected.

Not to mention, private school is expensive and home schooling is difficult. Sometimes we just need to government to do the babysitting, even though I know public education is socialist.
Not all public school teachers are liberal and not all schools are horrible. Proud retired teacher who taught conservative social studies. I worked in a conservative rural school.
There is a ton of help with home schooling. If you check public schools, you'll find that actual teaching is a small percentage of the day. You can teach your child just an hour or two a day and a little more on weekends. Plus, you're giving one on one attention all the time that the child doesn't get at school. There are home schooling groups all over the country for meeting and socializing the children.
Yes, but see if (or organize) there are groups meeting to home school in your area.

True story: I have a friend that did a 23 and me, and it came back as 1% black (he's obviously very white with no hint whatsoever of any color but white). When the census came to his door to ask their dumb questions they asked him what he identified as and he said "I'm black". They stared at him and he said "Write it down, I'm black and I can prove it", to totally mess with them. Absolutely hilarious! He made them fill in black.
I had a distant cousin back in the late 1800s, white as can be, that wanted to be with a black woman. Of course it was against the law to marry, so they just lived together. He told the census taker he was black. I have a photo of the two of them sitting on the back porch together.

My plan if I should be in a situation like this with one of my kids (hopefully my parenting will prevent it from coming up) is this:
Remove all internet entirely. Then hike the Appalachian or Pacific Coast trail with the kids. Reality will reassert itself in 3 months of walking.
Right on there. I had a older friend who gave me advice on how she raised her daughte: went on a one-month vacation every time the daughter started to get in with the wrong crowd. She said when they got back, by then the daughter had forgotten all about it.
The real-life friends are more difficult. Gotta pull them out of school or change schools or home school to remove that influence.
All real options for sure. But not realistic for everyone at all times.
But it is my fundamental belief that the vast majority of trans-inclined kids are that way because they have no constructive home life and they have too much youtube/tumblr/reddit/whatever. Not because their friend is that way. I believe that I am giving my kids a real and "classic" childhood, but I don't think my family is immune either. Maybe the upbringing I am doing for my kids IS making them immune... time will tell. But I have a backup plan. That's all.
But basically, if you get rid of the 50 year old dudes grooming your kid, your kid will stop being groomed. 99% (not all) of the grooming takes place on the internet and social media. Take away the internet and the grooming stops and reality sets in.
Think how many trans kids were made by locking them in the house for the year with only the internet to go to school and socialize on.
