There is something wrong there, especially when we have a President that clearly follows the rule of law. The only thing President Trump has in common with Russia, prior to becoming President, was that he sought to open a hotel in Moscow. As for the federal indictments, President Trump can clearly handle classified documents from his administration. That has been proven in court.
Remember, Trump is facing obstruction of justice charges too. That generally ups the ante in a criminal case.
Trump was facing a subpoena. He gave back boxes of documents including classified documents under the subpoena. He didn't claim he didn't need to give them back. He also asserted "any and all documents" responsive to the subpoena were returned, but the DOJ had evidence this was not the case and this is how they got the search warrant and the search turned up even more classified documents.
Unless his plea agreement specifically says so, his 5th amendment rights remain. They don't disappear.
Most plea agreements involving testimony require that the person give certain specific testimony in order to keep their end of the deal. Their rights to withhold testimony in anything else remains intact.
Maybe this slap on the wrist is because he turned over the laptop and worked with the good guys. Now, it makes the left look bad because he got a deal. Thoughts to ponder.

We are still in the sting operation, trapping them all, and simultaneously awakening the public so that they will be accepting of what’s coming by the time we get there (didn’t Trump mention a year and a half to go, recently?)

Then Hillary will unleash her wet teams and Baby Biden will be watching grass grow from under the dirt. The DOJ can't withhold documents under the guise of an ongoing investigation anymore either.
