I would like to associate myself with the distinguished gentleman's remark.
The reason “they” say/use “qanon” is to funnel the unknowing/unsuspecting people to use that as a search term where they will only find mis/dis info + lies. “They” know they’ll never find Q, so they build a fortress of lies to try to protect themselves. Clever but won’t work.

Welcome, handshake. You’re asking a silly question because you just don’t know any better so I’m not going to downvote you. Additionally, other Anons and I called it “QAnon” before Q finally came along and explained things.

Same. It took a while before I directly participated in the conversation, but I was always watching. I also watched as it spread across /r/the_donald.

As an addendum, due to trip, Q wasn't even strictly anonymous. Anons were always the people who had no post history, no recognizable qualities or way of speaking to identify them as.
Q was always posting as Q.

This Q post is exactly why Ron (and every other named influencer) shouldn't attempt to speak on behalf of anons.

That's correct. Even in some of the docs/videos referenced on the sidebar it mentions qanon. It's no big deal. It's not a stretch to see why someone would put Q + Anon together as QAnon. I doubt they are trying to make fun/slight/delegitimize the movement by calling it QAnon. Not that they aren't trying to delegitimize the movement, but I don't think they came up with that nickname for that purpose.

However, the distinction re: Q & anons vs. Qanon is important, because it points people towards Q, rather than towards the collective anon views, which are not the same thing.
Its so you can actually search for it in a search engine. "q" isn't really a great thing to search for if you are looking for something specific
