  • Makes sense to me.
  • Art had meaning before technology.
  • When tech came along it replaced what made Art necessary. Because of that Art changed from a special craft which takes many years to hone a skill, and it went from its importance being the physical subject to its importance being the artist. It lost meaning and was therefore hijacked by those willing to use it as a vehicle for other things like money laundering, and others.

More info, specifically I am talking about paintings, the purpose used to be capturing reality but then we learned how to take photos. So painting lost a lot of significance from something that could take an upwards of 30 years, to something that could be captured instantly

LMAO! I learned about them in a crazy way. The bus driver, like a kool bus driver, had them cranked up while taking us to drop us off for tubing on the San Marcos river. We were at the “parent” age by then, but it was still fucking crazy. I grew up with this shit. I graduated from HS in 1987 like their song named the same year.

Their lyrics (trivia: the singer has a Masters in English Lit kek) are everything the 80s metallers wanted to say in their songs, but couldn't kek

Perfect example of lyrical excellence: "It's not uncommon for this kind of infidelity, It happens to a lot of guys like Tiger Woods and me"

Genius!

I would like to add what do you mean by "non-woke"?

If you mean that the lyrics/theming is "non-woke", then there are plenty of options.

If you mean that the musicians are "non-woke", then there are also plenty of options, although a bit of research is required.

I've been listening to a lot of Matt and Gunnar Nelson, along with their dad's music, Ricky Nelson. Matt and Gunnar got the heck out of the LA scene some time ago and are Nashville based now. They're a little on the Conservative side. Probably helps growing up as the grandchildren of Ozzie and Harriett.

I've mentioned The Smashing Pumpkins here before as great music that isn't woke. Listen to "Empires" from the most recent album, ATUM, or "Beguiled" from the same album. You might like "Spellbinding" from ATUM.

"Cyr" and "The Colour of Love" from Cyr stand out.

"Silvery Sometimes" and "Solara" from Shiny and Oh So Bright Vol. 1

"Dorian" and "Monuments" from Monuments to an Elegy.

If I can find my previous song recommendation list from the post I had commented on before, I'll post it. For now, what I listed are some of the singles from the recent albums. I listen to the albums in their entirety instead of just choosing a song here and there, and I recommend that.

You can find all the music on The Smashing Pumpkins YouTube channel for free.

Here's one post from someone else: https://greatawakening.win/p/15JnG14QXQ/new-song-from-based-billy-corgan/

I still haven't found my old song list. Oh well. I stand by my comment here.

Never mind, I found it.

Uprising -- and other songs by Muse

I'd Love to Change the World by Ten Years After is interesting as a mix of woke and non-woke, or perhaps more accurately infected by Marxist economics and other Cabal-pushed brain rot yet deeply anti-war and opposed to the degradation of sane American social norms -- a typical example of Hippie era viewpoints. It has beautiful guitar work and is, for me anyway, emotionally powerful.

Tax the rich Feed the poor Soon there are No rich no more

Sounds like a critique of socialism to me.

– Narg 1 point 2 years ago +1 / -0

It SHOULD be a critique, but it's clearly not meant that way: the group is telling us that no one should be rich. Donald Trump, Steve Jobs, Henry Ford, and everyone who does well financially by working their ass off to serve their fellow man (be it with a grocery store, a farm, a tech company, or whatever -- where honest goods are sold without coercion -- including without "government" being the purchaser -- is a bad person).

The lyric is ". . . Till there are no rich no more" -- you can hear it clearly in the song, but (I've posted about this before) this is one of those songs whose lyrics have been changed -- in more than one way -- on most of the English lyric sites. Also in the song, the lyric " . . . money, No more for me" is changed in
