If people cut sugar from their life, overall health and wellbeing of this world will shoot up a million times.
I somehow crossed paths with the right people in the early 90s who knew this. I reduced my 2L/day cola habit down to zero, cut out all the other bs, and the hidden bs like Chinese food, most take-out, etc.
Fast forward a few decades, I’m the only one in my entire (biological) family not on any meds.
Hell, my mom just had a cancerous section of her GI tract removed and an illiostomy installed.. That was two months ago, and she’s been back to the hospital 8 times because she keeps signing herself out “against medical advice” so she can go home and have “real food and soda” (like Burger King, Chinese food, fried food… none of which are allowed, so she ends up back in the ER).
The addiction blows my mind. I preach it all the time to friends and family: try avoiding sugar for just one week. They can’t even try, and fail to realize that’s the addiction.
The sad part is that if you just cut off sugar for a few days your insulin Resistance reduces and your cravings also reduce drastically.
Good point.
Speaking of which, I should’ve clarified.. when I tell people about sugars, I tell them it’s all sweeteners, natural and artificial. Blank NPC stares. “But the TV told us diet soda is better.”
Yes! This!
It's an addiction and they will fight tooth and nail to continue getting their fix.
I know this because I'm addicted to sugars and sweeteners. Eating carnivore is the best thing I've ever done for myself.
I've also found when I increase protein (in addition to cutting off sugar) I rarely crave sugar. I also cut out grains and, of course, junk food.
I've somehow avoided surgery things, which is odd because I'm an alcoholic and am very susceptible to addiction. They say sugar is worse than heroin.
Yeah, proteins gives you that "full feeling". This is why eating a steak makes you full and takes away any cravings.
This is true, but increased activity is the best remedy for hyperglycemia and insulin resistance. A sedentary body doesn't use much fuel, so the cells have all the glucose they need. They don't need to use the glucose circulating in the blood. They can use a minimal amount. Activity requires your cells to produce ATP for energy, which uses glucose and oxygen. When your cells use up their available glucose, they will accept more from the blood supply. Cutting out dietary sugar does lower the amount of glucose in the blood and decreases vascular damage, but until the cells need more glucose to generate ATP, they won't absorb it from the blood.
Yeah the amount of sugar you take in is directly proportional to the amount of bodily activity. In olden days when humans had to constantly be on the move, hunting, running away from predators etc, they needed to consume massive amounts of sugar. Infact, sugar was so crucial that we evolved to really love the sweet taste.
As for the sugar in the blood - it gets converted into fat by the liver and stored away in various places - under the skin fat, liver fat etc. When you cut off sugar intake, body starts burning this stored fat. Hence when you do no sugar/low carb/IF etc, you will start losing weight so quickly.
Sugar - life's first addiction!
I have been reading the Good Gut Diet by Gerard Mullen. Good read, good info, good practice. He equates our gut microbiome to the Amazon rain forest, and advocates a weed, seed and feed approach to bringing it (and so us) back into good health.
Sugar consumption is a "pleasure" that many with no purpose, no connection to GOD or Spirit, reward themselves with since intrinsic satisfaction from wholesome endeavor is absent. It is an addiction of the lost.
Look into how healthy fats were demonized and reduced, then substituted with sugar.
Look into weight gain and rise in obesity worldwide over the past 30-40 years.
YES! All was planned
Parasites like sugar the most. Look at a fat diabetic person and try to tell me they are parasite free
what if those extradimensional parasites do this on purpose to himanity so they can grow and spread
It's a bit extreme associating sugar intake with people's connection to God or spirit, don't ya think?
Several years ago I was praying about my lack of energy. Holy Spirit told me to cut the carbs, since too much insulin can block thyroid hormone. I did and got more energy and lost weight. Except during the Covid "shit show" stress caused me to allow some "carb creep" until I recently got serious about cutting the carbs again.
It sure is. Your connection to God has nothing to do with sugar. However I do believe those who get transplants and go to the doctor for every single thing have no connection to God. They are supposed to trust God to heal them.
No, those serving GOD, serve humanity. This service rewards. No need to poison oneself in pursuit of a kick or a high that sugar provides. Humans are craving fulfillment. The ignorant will settle with distractions, diversions, security, comfort.
Depends on if we're talking about someone who simply likes a sugary snack every once in a while, or someone who incessantly and unending chases short term satisfaction in the form of food.
I find it hard to see the latter as someone who does anything more than pay lip service to God.
If people at least cut down sugar. You can't escape carbs completely on a normal diet, and keto isn't for everyone (it can also yield an intense craving for sugars that you may not feel if you were just on a regular diet).
The critical issues will always come down to excess carbs through overeating, poor dietary choices, inactivity (using your carbs for fuel to pump your muscular growth and maintenance for example is good body building) and potentially worst of all, through added chemicals and sugary substances that don't need to be added to our every day foods.
It is important to note also that while ketosis can starve some cancers, it does not cure it on its own and those under ketosis can develop cancers just like everyone else.
Ketosis is the most fun restrictive diet though because as long as you keep your macros more or less in line and get close to zero on your net carbs, you can enjoy a plethora of foods (BACON!) that other diets won't allow.
Biweekly dose of keto shilling complete, starting next executableGot to find bacon that is minus the mRNA sh###t.
Yeah, that definitely falls under "unnecessary food additives" I'd say.
I'd probably try to build a good relationship with local butchers and figure out where they source their meat from.
For some reason, my brain autocompleted this as "I'd probably try to build a good relationship with a pig..."
Buy LOCALLY Sourced...also, look on the shelves that state it is grass fed with NO HGH HORMONES and such...ONE has to look CLOSELY AT THE PACKAGING...and DO NOT BUY THE BRANDS that are in the center of the section...the bacon you are looking for will be on one end or the other...
Thanks! I typically don't eat bacon much at all...but I do enjoy it rarely. Good tip. And I find myself spending so much more time in grocery stores, picking up things - reading the label - then putting them back. Guess I'm pretty much done with packaged foods.
Butcherbox.com.
Clean meat of all types. Animals are open range. A little more but worth it. Frozen, shipped to your door. Have publicly stated that they will not source from any farmer that will use MRNA or vaxes.
Everyone is, by default, ketogenic. If you eat a plant-free diet, you won't get cravings for sugar after you withdraw from it/them. Cravings are created by nutrient deficiencies caused by "keto" diets relying heavily on plants or poor meat sources such as chicken.
In ketosis, cells may become cancerous. However, they are quickly destroyed or die off on their own. This has been proven, most recently, by the research done at Boston University by Thomas Seyfried.
I'm assuming he's pointing out the difference between what is allowed and what is optimal.
You can eat plants as long as you don't go over your carb limit, but just because you can doesn't mean you should.
I'm talking about "cravings." If you eat a nutrient-poor diet, your body will give you cravings. Those are usually carb-based things. You're not "craving" anything. You're starving. Meat is the most nutrient dense food available.
I did a keto diet for about 50 days and completely cut all added sugar from my diet. Fruits and veggies with their own natural sugar were okay but only in moderation. You're absolutely right when you said "it can also yield an intense craving for sugars" because I was craving sugar for all of those 50 days. After those 50 days I allowed myself a little sugar again but totally fell head first into my sugar addiction again and it seems worse than ever.
I'm not sure what's causing this extreme craving for it but I've always had it ever since I was a kid. I hate it and I try to cut added sugar from my diet every day but I crave it more than anything else. I did feel a lot better when I completely cut it from my diet but I was always thinking about it. Any thoughts or suggestions?
Keto has never worked for me either. (Despite the fact it is so popular on this forum!) I too have had life long sugar craving addictions. In recent years, I have managed to keep them at bay mainly with dark chocolate.(not as tastey, so I can control myself more!) Currently I am realizing a huge part of the cravings is actually gluten, so cutting that out helps. We each need to tune into ourselves to figure out the healthiest diet. One clue for me is I loved fresh fruit as a child.
Hey checkout the link provided above at docdroid.net. You have a fungal infection. That is why you are craving sugar so badly. There is an easy and very affordable protocol you can follow to eliminate the infection. Good luck!
About ketones. Thirty years ago, my husband and I went to the county fair and got a huge slab of fudge. We finished it before we got home. The next day, in a commuters traffic jam in LA, I went into ketosis. It was a nightmare. My body stopped breathing and I had to switch to manual. That doesn't work very well. I tried to induce yawning, because it brought relief. It was months of discomfort, cotton mouth, and hiring a trainer at a gym, before I was back to normal. I don't like ketosis.
I don't think that was ketosis. I think perhaps you are referring to diabetic ketoacidosis?
Thank you.
That's what it was, but there were definitely ketones involved. I smelled like a bowl of fruit.
But, but, nothing would taste good😎. Almost only kidding, but seriously isn't sugar in a lot of (at least fruits) things naturally?
Yeah, and eating fruits especially fibrous ones, are absolutely fine if you dont overdo it. Similarly using rawer forms of sugar in cooking is also fine.
Even with the most sedentary lifestyle,we still need a certain amount of sugar to fuel the cells, and these natural sources are well covered by this metabolism.
And adding to that, talking about taste, when you eat home cooked meal which has good ingredients and just the minimal amount of salt and sugar necessary, the taste of the ingredients makes it delicious.
The processed food can never recreate this taste, hence they add a lot of additives and tons of salt and sugar to balance it. All that is unnecessary.
Absolutely
