We bought a counter-top distiller a while back and distill our own water. If I ever get a can of this stuff we will distill it and see what is left behind.
You probably wouldn't be able to see anything left behind unless the water is extremely dirty. You'd need a mass spectrometer to analyze the residue.

As far as I know, distilled water is fine as long as you get your minerals from salts and such. u/PepeSee (hope that tag works!) knows about it. He replied to a similar post I had a few weeks ago.

I’ve had some issues in the past with potassium & sodium, so I want to make sure I’m not going backwards:) I also need to look into the various salts, was thinking Celtic sea salt might be beneficial, maybe I’m missing something🤔 no oceans where I’m at now;) and we usually have a good fluoride filter, so would have that taken care of, which is good.
Probably need a 12 Pack to get good results, but best of luck, find some that is post 9-11-23....

My point is if you're in a situation where Gates water is being passed out for free, it would be helpful to know how to sanitize your own water using fermentation. Then you can provide drinkable, and more importantly storable, water (with a little alcohol mixed in) from natural sources, for you and your family. You would not need to accept Gates water.
