I dropped out years ago, never regretted it or looked back.

Me too, friend.

Now realizing that my hatred of society, the materialism and narcissism that people go after, was absolutely right.

The missing thing is finding true purpose based on God's intention for us.

Need to find others who have the same level of being awake and search for a real purpose rather than the slave system they've set up for us.

Jammyjams summed it up well. We can't all go into the wilderness and live off the land but we can unsubscribe from tv, MSM, woke materialistic people, NWO agendas etc. I dropped out of the legal system when I realised how corrupt it was: didn't want any part of it, cut my losses became a happy gardener. Getting neared to God and relying on His guidance and strength is essential.

" Life itself is beautiful, but I hate that I have to experience it as a human being bogged down with all sorts of irrelevant responsibilities and obligations"

I did not expect to read something like this here. It's comforting to know there are others out there.

Those things that bog us down are artificially put there by the Banksters to make us into slaves.

The rampant depression IMO comes from our lives being increasingly filled with meaningless tasks. Everything we need to do to "be part" of society is bogged down with tedium. Buying health insurance is a 4 hour exercise in mendacity. Everything is like that. Couple the inane day to day BS with locking people indoors under artificial light, Viola! You have a suicidal population.

Dropping out of society and death are not the same brother. Jesus is the only way for true peace in any circumstance at any point in our lives. Even when it makes no sense.

Don't need to be retired to set your own terms. A genuinely handy man that's self-employed can pretty much do as he pleases too.

We have an off-grid place out in the woods. We bought it well before covid as a place to enjoy the quiet. But it may turn out to be a refuge from tyranny.

No. I’m actually happier now that I’ve ever been. I know it sounds strange during these difficult times, but my faith in Christ and my hope is in him. Once I got an alignment with God’s will in my life, my life has changed completely. I am grateful.

I don't like life.

Yep, familiar feels. Worldly motives have lost power over us. We need new motivation. Duty isn't ideal.

Duty is a burden. But love is not. Duty is only necessary to power actions for which love is lacking. Try to transform dutiful actions into loving actions and you'll live less reluctantly.

I totally hear you man. Everyday human life is just so insanely dull. Having to work forever is so depressing. Even if I pay off my home in 20 years I still have to pay property tax. Just renting my small lot from the government. Everything about modern life is so backwards.

We packed up a camper and headed off into the great unknown back in 2013.

Landed eventually on a little piece of land in a tiny unincorporated town. Slowly, through stubborn brute manual labor I am creating a slice of Eden.

Don't need money beyond the very basic necessities so sporadic side work gets me by fine.

Satisfying. Possible.

Can recommend.

I don't believe in dropping out. That's not a solution for me. I'd rather stay engaged and make a difference, even if it's just a small difference at times.

The little things we do every day can influence a few people, and it spreads.

When you drop out, you lose. You stop influencing change, and just survive in the little world you fenced yourself into.

You CAN have that kind of life, it just depends on what you're willing to give up.

I watch "Mountain Men" and "Life Below Zero" and admire those people, living free and wild... but for me to have that life, I would have to give up the comfortable Western life I have become used to, pizza delivery on demand, and too many creature comforts to list here.

It comes down to this: How much are you willing to give up to have the kind of life you want?

I just wish I could get away from socialists. They do not ever give up proselytizing their ridiculous ideas.

That's what exhausts me. They seem to think someone wanting "less" is in need of their unwanted help.

Slowly, surely, the longer you are around them, they chip away at the belief that you could escape them.

There is only one way of living life in their eyes, and anything that isn't benefitting them is not allowable.

Sounds like you’re a young person just starting out and you’re shocked by how tough the world is. Find a good church, one that is rooted in the Bible and join the young people group. Also, there is a Bible app that teaches the word of God, it’s free, Thru the Bible. Honestly, you’re going to need a deep faith to get through this tough world, suicide isn’t an answer to your problems. I mention this because you’ve hinted at it in a few posts. Please talk to someone about your depression. Sincerely wishing you the best.

In a limited fashion I already have. I work remote and live several miles down a logging road on a hill on a lake. In the average non-summer week I pretty much only leave my lake to go to Church. My only real interaction with the larger world are entertainment related like the local raceway, live music, the occasional town festival, 4th of July, or County fair, and I'll stop in somewhere for a bite to eat during a snowmobile or bike ride.

https://www.blueletterbible.org/lexicon/g5281/kjv/tr/0-1/

Strong’s Definitions ὑπομονή hupŏmŏnē, hoop-om-on-ay'; from G5278; cheerful (or hopeful) endurance, constancy:—enduring, patience, patient continuance (waiting).

Rev 1:9 - I John, who also am your brother, and companion in tribulation, and in the kingdom and patience G5281 of Jesus Christ, was in the isle that is called Patmos, for the word of God, and for the testimony of Jesus Christ.

Rev 2:2 - I know thy works, and thy labour, and thy patience, G5281 and how thou canst not bear them which are evil: and thou hast tried them which say they are apostles, and are not, and hast found them liars:

Rev 2:3 - And hast borne, and hast patience, G5281 and for my name's sake hast laboured, and hast not fainted.

Rev 2:19 - I know thy works, and charity, and service, and faith, and thy patience, G5281 and thy works; and the last to be more than the first.

Rev 3:10 - Because thou hast kept the word of my patience, G5281 I also will keep thee from the hour of temptation, which shall come upon all the world, to try them that dwell upon the earth.

Rev 13:10 - He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience G5281 and the faith of the saints.

Rev 14:12 - Here is the patience G5281 of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
