It's worth it to "send a message" to whoever is launching these things. If they are allowed to do this repeatedly and with impunity, they just get bolder and more audacious. Blow it out of the sky, I'm tired of hearing about our air space being violated, as well as our LAND being violated with all the dirty, diseased illegals coming over the border.
Tracking Map shows it right around Colorado Springs - nothing important to see there...JUST NORAD AND Space Force Command HQ. Nothing to be gained from spying on those two losers/sarc

I've got to believe, or at least hope, we have better technology than that and that it would have been picked up as soon as it entered our airspace, but most likely way before that. Unless of course it was launched from Utah.
What if it was sent up in the US? Isn't China buying up land here in the US, maybe from wherever they bought land is where they sent it up. So it was already in our airspace.
I live in the area and saw 3 fighter jets around 3pm coming north, took a hard left and went west. Too high and too fast to identify them, but damn, I heard them.

They already know that they can float a balloon right across the US and the military just "tracks" it. What if they sent a nuke in the payload of a balloon? Is it possible that the first balloons were a test? Could they set one off with a signal from a satellite?
They need to shoot the damn thing down while it's over barren land. Last I checked, fighter aircraft have guns/cannons, so unless that balloon is bulletproof, missiles shouldn't be necessary.
