2021 was a tough year for my family. Both my wife and I were raised ‘Catholics’ but we’re both completely non-believers.
We never went to church, never talked about God or Jesus, nothing.
But my little 5 year old LOVED Jesus. She would talk about him, pray to him, and just professed how great he was and how nice he was. No one in her life talked to her about these things.
So this lit the spark, it brought us to find a church, to go through a starting Bible study, and just over 2.5 years later, my little family of 4 are fully dedicated to Jesus Christ.
For works through many people, for us it was our little daughter.
Congratulations, you overcame a life of habit, of going through the motions, but not feeling the fulfillment of understanding. Few people possess this level of self-awareness. Well done.
Amen! So wonderful to hear how the faith of your daughter brought you all to Jesus, our Savior! Praise the Lord!
That's a wonderful story. Thank You for sharing that with us. 🙂
Glory to God...and a little child will lead them”
Glory to the Lord ! Wonderful to hear this about your daughter and your family.
I hope that Space Force is filled with similar individuals! We are definitely approaching something huge in the history of humanity. Most of us can feel it! It is strange and unsettling, but my mind and heart are at peace. We will see this through and arrive at a better place soon.
Amen! Time to stop false worship and heed Christ warnings.
Choose. She's right. It is time.
I just keep praying that I might be counted among the harvest, as I have not yet put away all my sin.
Thankfully, there’s grace, but it is not my desire to make grace greater.. (Rom 6:2)
AmateurExpert, none of us can put away our sin because the Bible teaches us that we are still sinners until the day we die. But because of God's grace, through Jesus Christ, anyone can be saved from an eternal death, separated from God. Anyone can know for certain that they are part of the harvest, as you said. Ephesians 2:8-9 "For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith-- and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God-- not by works, so that no one can boast." Romans 10:9- says, "That if you confess with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For it is with your heart that you belive and are justified, and it is with your mouth that you confess and are saved...... verse 13 "for ' Everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.'"
Can't agree more, we all sin. People always will sin, myself included. The only time we will be sin free is other the other side of this life. And only if we are washed in the blood of Jesus Christ.
The difference is, do we repent, hand it to God, and get back on track with the mission Christ gave us in (Matthew 4:19 follow me and I will make you fishers of men.)
Follow Christ's teachings (follow me)
Be changed by Christ (I will make you)
And on mission to make disciples who make disciples. (Fishers of men)
Doesn't mean we won't slip into old ways of the flesh but that we know to look up and crawl out. Or avoid the hole when possible. If that makes since.
I prefer to live and motivate myself as though it was possible and trying to help the refiner hammer out the dross impurities, while praying that grace is sufficient for my astrayances. Lord knows I’ll need plenty.
Matthew 7:21-23
Those people cast out devils and did many wonderful works greater than these, and they did not enter!!
Psalm 111:10
There’s no harm in fearing Elohim.
The only acceptable fear is fear of the Lord. Any other fear is, inherently, blasphemy. For anything else involving sin, I highly recommend listening to this, or reading the transcript. Someone linked it earlier today, and man, it was exactly what I needed to hear today, regarding the nature of sin and forgiveness: https://stone-choir.com/all-sins-are-not-equal/
I’m not quite sure where your comment was placing my statements at, as that was the exact thing I said I feared, but they have a link to “Antinomianism” there, and that’s likely a much better term for what I’ve been referring to with “Dispensationalism”.
I have been trying to wake Christians up to that, and slowly, because as we have seen, people do not like waking up.
Will listen to the podcast before commenting any further.
Edit:
They hit on something that I was writing before deciding to listen to the podcast (actually, it was the entire response). I’ll go ahead and add that:
I believe in forgiveness of sin, and that sin must be repented of, and as I noted, mine has not been put away. Without repentance, there cannot be “forgiveness” of sin, only “tolerance”.
There are differences in scripture between intentional and unintentional sins. Unintentional sins were what was atoned for through the sacrificial system at the temples and synagogues. They were imperfect, and thus had to be repeated constantly for any unintentional sins. These sacrifices seem to be what were fulfilled on the cross, as well as an exemplar of how the law was to be followed, which had been strayed from as significantly as we have strayed from the constitution.
There was no sacrificial system for intentional sins, which we today treat quite casually, to what may eventually be our great dismay.
Every one of us should behave with appropriate fear that we show up and find out that Matthew 8:11-12 was talking about ME.
What do I fear? I fear that, and I pray that my intentional sins might also find some degree of grace before the throne.
Modern pastors should be HORRIFIED.
Hebrews 10:26-29
(Edit: ha! They cited that one)
Amen!
The decision everyone has to make is vastly approaching, it is a shame many still don’t recognize what is coming. What she states is true, speak to non believers and just attempt to have a normal conversation with them, they think you’re nuts.
How can people not see how crazy evil this world has become? Yes, you need to make a choice between good and evil. Satan is trying to harvest as many souls as he can before he is thrown in the pit of fire.
MAGA Amen!
I'll take mashed taters and gravy... not big on the coleslaw or green beans
Amen!
Matthew 6:24
“No man can serve two masters: for either he will hate the one, and love the other; or else he will hold to the one, and despise the other. Ye cannot serve God and mammon.”
This gave me chills because I just had this exact conversation with my husband last night
Kind of neat how things like this happen isn't it. Follow what you know is true.
Feelings are feelings and feeling something coming is human nature. Putting people in the feeling trap is interesting. I feel I am unworthy of God and what God has given me is an example of feelings.
I feel happy when I see others succeed is good to me.
The fear porn is a control mechanism, but I do agree people should pray and if their feelings of fear causes that then I suppose that is a good thing as long as they do not start forcing other to wear a mask so to speak. It is a personal thing and always has been.
Really only God knows the End but for now we do not need feelings to see the fact that man and these elitists want to have a new world order, they literally say this.
Turn on a Biden show and listen to him and we have evidence of something big already happened and is still happening.
Excellent post. Thank you.
I got divorced during 2020. Talk about going through hell.
Wow! That brought some tears, I won't lie. Nice jacket too, but dang it's got to be hot. I figured it was an older video but the trees are green and it looks warm. I'd be sweating bullets in that thing.
Chills. This is truth. Thank you for posting this.
Affected me the same way and encourages 🐸 to know God is moving in people's lives
Literally bought a bible a couple of weeks back. Tried reading front to back but it’s difficult. Started with Genesis, then finished half of Exodus, moved to the book of Matthew. Then back to Exodus.
Idk if i’m doing it right. But I’m feeling compelled to read more. I don’t know how or when i’m supposed to feel this insane incomprehensible love everyone else seems to feel.
But i try every day ti read some pages. Some days I don’t others I read 15-20 pages
If the style of language is giving you problems (I'm thinking King James version here), then perhaps another translation would be better suited to you. Go back to the bookstore and sample them. There are some that are in modern English and are quite readable, such as the New International Version (NIV). It's better to find a version you'll read, than one you won't. Once you've wet your chops, you can always switch back the the more difficult read. The important thing is to just start reading and keep on reading.
Best wishes, fren!
I got the NIV. The only thing I knew about Bibles were that there were many different ones and some didn’t tell the whole story, some were missing pieces. so I didn’t know where to go
The NIV is a good choice. It's my favorite. The translation is supposed to be from the original documents, and not a translation of a translation.
You started reading in one of the hardest areas of the Bible. Try reading the New Testament first, starting with John.
Hello Xirturn. It is so admirable of you to try and read through the whole Bible! The Old Testament is full of history and wonderful stories of God's working in human lives and events. May I recommend that you start with the four Gospels, of which you already read Matthew. The Gospels tell the story of Jesus' life, death, resurrection, and ascension back to heaven. Acts is right after John and it tells the story of the early church. Jesus had commanded His disciples to go and share the Gospel, how he lived, died and conquered death, sin, and the grave, and how He's coming back some day. So after Jesus went back up to heaven, the disciples spread out and did just that.
There is no right or wrong of how to read the Bible. All of it is God's inspired Word. It literally is HisStory. Not only is it an amazing piece of history, but it is wonderful literature, as well. The Bible is also real life, full of drama, violence, murder, deceit, dysfunctional families, happiness, joy etc. I'm so happy that you are wanting to read it and desire to do so. That is the Holy Spirit of God working in your heart. The Bible says that if we search for Him, He will make Himself known to us, Deuteronomy 4:29.
Please read my response to AmateurExpert. I am praying that you will seek God with your whole heart and find Him soon! He is there waiting for you to call on His name!
The thing i’m noticing is it looks as though they all tell the same story. Am I reading the same story 4 times? I understand that the disciples were all there basically seeing the same thing but it feels like repetition.
Sorry if i’m sounding ignorant. Like I said I started reading recently and I’ve been wanting to for a while just didn’t know what ti expect.
Matthew, Mark, Luke, and John are very similar, but they also told the story of Jesus through their own eyes. For example, Luke was a physician and Matthew was a tax collector before Jesus called them to follow Him. Some of it is repetitive, but then there are things shared in one or two of them that the others don't have. For example, the genealogy of Jesus is found in both Matthew and Luke, but not Mark and John. The temptation of Jesus by the Devil is mentioned in Mark, but is found in greater detail in Matthew and Luke.
Every book of the Bible is the inspired (God-breathed) Word of God, (2 Timothy 3:16). Men wrote it, but through the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit of God.
No need to apologize! We all had to start at some point and learn as we go. Please reach out with any questions you may have. I'll do my best to answer them. I'm not a Bible theologian, but just a mom and new grandma.
2020 was my call back. I was fully in a life of homosexuality, pornography, and other sins. My life was changed when I chose to follow Him again! Do I still struggle. Yes. But my mission is God's mission and I'm doing my best to keep on track. And when I slip get back to following Him. I will have to answer for all my sins and mistakes, but in the end. I hope to hear I still did well, and that my savior has rescued me from my death.
May The Lord bring you peace as times get tougher and strength that only. He can provide to everyone.
And remember we all sin, and all sin is equal to God. So whether it's my struggles of homosexuality and or etc. Or that you hold un-righteous anger toward someone. We are all unworthy but made worthy through Christ. So I hope yall can relate to some extent to where I am coming from.
Love Y'all!
Kanime, Praise God that you found Jesus! Thank you for pointing out that to God sin is sin, and that He doesn't weigh one sin greater than another.
I am curious if you had a mother, or other people specifically praying for you to find Jesus. I have a wayward daughter that I've been praying for.
actually it was an 8 year old me professing Christ as Lord and savior. But as I drifted and was hurt by the world my parents were in prayer over me to return. and here i am today wrapped in His arms because the courage of an 8 year old many years ago.
Praise the Lord that He answered your parents' prayers! God bless you in your faith journey!
