I don't think Elon could take the boredom that comes with sitting around all day navel gazing. He wants to see results, not barriers to progress erected.
no kidding!!! just watch any of those government proceedings... rooms packed with people bored out of their minds and watching porn on their phones looking for some kind of excitement!! they spend countless hours on parliamentary proceedural crap and get nothing done!!! it's maddening to watch our taxpayer dollars being burned at a nuclear temp!!

I think Elon's plate is full, but Gaetz knows the ropes in the House, and he would make a good SOH.
He caved as Attorney General and is now an anchor on OAN.
He was never going to get the votes even from his own corrupt party to become Attorney General so i don't know how that can be seen as caving. He would also face an uphill battle to become Speaker from the crooks in his own party. He has shown a willingness to expose them all, and they are already running scared.
They said the same thing about Trump in 2015.
Gaetz doesn't have the military fixing the crooks in Congress votes for him. Trump had them stopping the election fraud. Different set of circumstances entirely.
He walked away way too easy.

Former Congressman Matt Gaetz is brutal. But he may not necessarily be a “former” Congressman just yet. He resigned following his nomination as Attorney General by President-Elect Donald Trump, only to withdraw over shenanigans over his House “investigation” (smear) report.
Now that they’ve decided to release the report anywhere, there are no holds barred, including a brief return to Congress. He is still the Congressman-elect for his district and if he shows up to join the next session, he will be sworn in. That’s not what he wants long-term after scoring his own show on One America News, but he may be willing to step in to take one final stab at his corrupt former colleagues.

Actually, at present, he could serve as speaker although there has been some talk about this needing to be changed. Wonder how many speakers have held dual citizenship.

I'd love that except SOTH is 2nd in line for presidency if anything happens to the President. He is ineligible to be president per the constitution.
He could serve, but the succession line would have to skip him. It would drop to the President Pro Tempore of the Senate. I can't find a good list of senators that are running for the position in 2025 because every state seems to pave a president pro tempore in their own senates as well - skews everything in search.
I will say - whoever the Republicans elect will probably not be who we would want to take over the presidency in a disaster.

Elon is needed elsewhere. The point of him is to gut agencies until they're borderline breaking then force technological productivity and efficiencies on them. Removing technology to throw bodies at it for more money will never be feasible and so the updated apparatus will be resistant to reinfection by the deep state.
Having him as speaker would prevent long term gain for a small win when there are other people who could play defense the same way. The only upside to him would be watching the democrats fall over themselves screaming at someone with a social disability for not being able to play their social games.

I'd prefer Elon in an advisory role and still head up Tesla and his other ventures. Instead, Rand Paul should be the speaker. He's a politician and has been a counterweight to many RINO/Dem initiatives. He has a voice people respect and would do a good job. With Elon in an advisory role, there's less ammo to give Dems saying he's enriching himself by pushing his agenda to benefit his companies.
Why should he resign from the Senate? We have a razor thin margin there as it is.

How about Thomas Massie? He's part of the Liberty Caucus in the House, and is already there. (Not Rand - Rand needs to stay in the Senate to Filibuster.)

We have no clue who Ramaswamy really is except a guy that fast talked his way into a participation trophy job and likes to copy Obama. Not popular I know but we do have a few hundred million people to choose from and maybe shouldn't just go with the new shiny object. No offense meant, just my opinion.
