Scientists Warn that Underwater Volcano Off Oregon Coast is 'Primed to Erupt' in 2025 | The Gateway Pundit | by Jim Hα΄ft
As seismic activity intensifies, scientists believe the Axial Seamount is on the brink of eruption. Discover the latest predictions and what they mean for the Oregon coast.
My first thought is that would make Seattle and Portland into hellscapes.
Then I realized it's too late - they're already there. Volcano might be an improvement.
If you read deeply into the article, the "experts" don't really expect tsunamis or any effect on coastal areas. They base this on a similar event that happened with that volcano in 2015. So it's mostly fear porn.
Yea this volcano is the most active in the eastern Pacific and has erupted 3 times since 2011. So its news why? Comms would be the only reason I can see this making the news. Underwater eruptions happen many times each day and we never hear a peep. So whats this trying to convey?
There are underwater volcanoes all over the pacific. Hawaii ring a bell? Bring on a new island.
There are around 1,350 active volcanoes on land worldwide and 19,000 under the ocean. So an underwater volcano is not rare.
Seems like a pretty regular occurrence when looked into.
Yeah. Itβs called Hawaii.
Well, as long as Kauai is not interrupting, Iβm happy. Iβm gonna be spending a couple months there in 2025. ππ
Did anyone commenting actually read the article that gives the years there has been the same occurrence at the same place?
Unfortunately if it does erupt it'll probably not be big large enough to completely destroy that region...

Downvote for callousness. My brother and his family live in Washington. He voted for Trump and served 20 years in the Coast Guard.
I donβt remember any underwater volcano eruption being a news story.
They do not make the news regularly.
Today
If that speeds up California sliding into the sea, what can I do to help?
Always figured a few strategically placed tactical nukes in the fault could give it a nudgeβ¦just a little physicsβ¦and gravity. Damn gravity.
No, not Hell. Jesus said Earth is Satan's Dominion.
"Get the Neutrino Array ready, boys!! Fault-trigger is primed!"
Does that prediction mean more government manipulation to make the prediction happen?
Of course, would you expect anything less?
Not too unusual, so a possibility any year. Volcanoes are, and they erupt, at least somewhere every year.
So this will be its 4th or 5th eruption in the last 25 years. Sounds like a nothingburger
These are probably the same scientists that told us Arctic/Antarctic ice was melting fast enough that the east coast would be underwater by now, acid rain was going to destroy everything, global warming and global cooling was gonna kill everything, and a hole in the ozone was going to kill everyone. I'm sure I missed some predictions, but after a few of those I just never gave a crap about anything they said again.
Up the entire west coast of South and North America and down the far east side of Russia and Asia is the "ring of fire" and most of it is comprised of undersea volcanoes. A major area of tectonic plate movement; which just so happens to be the most likely spot to find volcanoes.

You're missing the point....predicting an eruption sounds like a fear porn narrative. Get it? But you're correct.
my money's still on interstellar mental institution.
As an Oregonian who has lived about an hour from the coast since the early 90s, I can tell you I had no idea this volcano has erupted 3 times in that time period. I've also only ever felt 2 earthquakes, neither of which aligned with this volcano's eruption. I doubt I'd notice an eruption in 2025 either.
Ditto. Washingtonian here. Mt. St. Helens was our memorable event. I never heard of this one and its previous eruptions. No one on our beaches was overwhelmed by any wave.
Yellowstone is a supervolcano...
An eruption could be catastrophic...
I'm still waiting on the ozone layer to deplete from hairspray aerosol cans.
Na, they were only scared about that in the 80's because of fashion. mm.
Not to give stuff away, but I know at least one large country has an underwater nuke delivery drone. Quietly goes to it's programmed parking spot, then can be set off (remote or timer I'd imagine). Tidal wave tsunami shows up, "naturally occurring" and nobody's the wiser. Maybe this is what was used on Fukushima?
We have been told for years and years the san andreas fault was going to split san diego in half.... nothing yet
The gulf of mexico is a supervolcano and lava flows underwater all the time there.
Really? Sauce?
If it erupts it may trigger the Cascadia fault zone!
There is also possibly one west of Crescent City. The sides are almost vertical looking at under water mapping.
