I had to finally see what people mean by the verb "to curate". It isn't in my old 1991 dictionary. A curate is a preacher or low ranking cleric. A curator is someone who creates displays in a museum. Online, it says that curate can mean to select and present, but this must be something new. Paul Wallis, who worked in the Anglican church and translates ancient scriptures and makes videos uses "curate" as a verb all the time. Language invents itself over time.
I only know it as the museum curator and so you buy, display.

I wonder if anything will be done about the guy who hosts a 1-hr show on NPR, on Saturday morning ("wait, wait, don't tell me"), who gets more than $400,000 a year! Even if it was the worlds most famous standup comic, it wouldn't be worth $400,000 a year!
I just looked up who it might be and was shocked to see the list of 51 'Hosts' of NPR. If one is $400k, what are the others getting paid? I think some are past hosts, but, Good Lord. That's a lotta money being paid for hosting duties by us hapless taxpayers.
And I see lots of Iras and Rachels and Larry's and such, which is not a surprise.
It's really unbelievable the level of outright fraud that has been going on for decades. I wonder if those people have any shame at all. Surely they know they aren't worth even a fraction of that pay.

I remember listening to Garrison Keillor on NPR while we drove up north to the woods for a summer vacation many years ago when our kids were little. He had a very family-oriented weekly show called, 'News from Lake Wobegon' in his variety show, A Prairie Home Companion.
The kids hated his humor, but we really enjoyed it! He talked about the fictitious town of Lake Wobegon, "Where the women are strong, the men are good looking, and all the children are above average."
