Social Security is not a handout. The worker and the employer pay into it. The worker can claim SS when they reach a certain age, which is getting older and older. You are not paying mine and if you are it is only because it 0went somewhere else, stolen or to an illegal both of whom didn't deserve it or earn it. It may be a pnzi scheme but the money never went into a lockbox like the politicians used to say.

This is great step in the right direction... but if a left complains about this with the argument "they were given social security cards and have been paying into social security" just respond with "that's excellent - now if they leave and come back in legally and become a US citizen they can receive those benefits and no one's footing the bill for them. :)

Well, the minimum SSI payment is $967 a month, so whatever they were receiving from RSDI was boosted to a minimum of $967 a month.
I know 2 people who have randomly had their SS checks cut. No explanation offered.
