That's because adults who want this done to children are 99% pedophiles. That's why they push so hard for puberty blockers - drugs that stop sexual maturity, and, of course, have to be started before puberty.
It hasn't dawned on the public yet that if you give puberty blockers to a child/young teen and then do some kind of sex reassignment surgery, the "trans" person cannot and will not ever experience any sexual response to speak of. The sex organs were not allowed to mature, so that is not possible.
But what you do end up with is an adult-aged person (therefore able to give consent to sex) who has the physical makeup of a child. Now who would be interested in that?

By the time I reached 18, I was into the make up and the edgy bohemian feminine look, it was the 60's, I wanted the long cotton skirts and beads and long hair. I am so glad there was no one telling me at that time that I could stop developing into a woman right there and then, that I could be a boy. I grew up to be not ulttra feminine, but very motherly and soft and caring, the other qualities of a woman. Our God given bodies and attributes of our sex are not superficial, they are deep, and no amount of mutilation or costume is going to change that.
