We've been getting quite a few duplicate posts recently.
Could you check before and after posting a post, especially on breaking news.
If you are using the GAW search then it's a good idea to keep to a single keyword.
Or you can search for keywords with GAW using a search engine. For example
in brave search, searching for "fren site=greatawakening.win" is a search for "fren" within GAW.

While scrolling yesterday. I’m seeing the same post, by same person, in the feed at least twice. I agree with duplicate posts by different people. I think even if you search first and don’t see it, could be because some titles are not specific to topic with keywords. In the last few days one was titled wow & two additional words. I do believe majority of people here are smart enough to know this & how to do descriptive titles.
Not dissing the board, because I do appreciate it, but the search feature on here sucks sweaty donkey balls. Not just donkey balls, but sweaty ones.
I would not be averse to a donation button specifically to hire someone to improve it.

Yeah....search is real finicky...
For instance, searching for: "Trump" is NOT the same as searching for "Trump "
*Note the extra space at the end auto-complete on cell phones tend to add by default...You MUST backspace it/trim it off if you want to get actual search results
Sometimes you get a can get a double post by an anon because they have a bad internet connection or because GAW servers are running slowly.
Mods should leave this pinned since it seems as if the precipice has arrived. A ton of people will be flooding back in for updates.
If an exact post duplicate from same person, yes.
Sometimes, though they just are too impatient and hits submit twice.

Something else that would help is writing good, descriptive post titles with the right keywords. That would make the post easier to find.

I agree, I sometimes look and miss the first post, I attribute it to words in the title, as I search for the subject but sometimes their title is completely reworded. Other times, I post and the other post occurs almost at the same time as mine. Whenever you see a duplicate, mods, please pull the second post. Thanks!

It's easy to do because we're all brilliant...great minds..kek! 😉
One of the biggest problems with duplicate posts is that it dilutes activity and really degrades the quality of the conversations.
Instead of 10-15 posts about exactly the same thing, with maybe 20 comments on each by a few people that just peter out quickly, we could have one post with lots of people with different views and points and have a proper, quality discussion.
I tried pointing this out once when I asked someone to please just glance at the board for perhaps 10 seconds before posting something because there were literally 8 other posts about the same exact thing in the list of posts on the board at the time and got my head bit off.
But seriously, if it's a current topic, something that just happened, check the board first. You don't even have to do a search. Just click on "hot" and read the list of post titles. It takes virtually seconds.
I totally agree with you about the splitting of comments on important posts.
If a subject is breaking news and requires analysis or decoding, then I will go to trouble to get rid of any duplicate posts quickly before they gather comments.
This is actually my most important reason for removing duplicates.
Of course, mods are not watching all the time, and we have our shifts and our areas of expertise.
