Structure fires are rare. The last time multiple houses burned was probably in between the 2018 fires and the 2023 fires in Olowalu. Even then it was 2 or 3 houses. Not thousands.
The fires are usually brush and Maui is usually in a drought so the logic is they will let the brush fire burn rather than waste water on it. Structure fires on Oahu and Hawaii island are usually arson.
Regarding the trees. Many fire resistant mountain trees like ironwood and pine were introduced to the islands.
Ironwood was introduced because it is tough to burn. The idea was to plant them at a certain elevation to slow down a forest fire. Coniferous trees were added to reintroduce water into the water table.
The pine trees on Lanai literally saved the water table there.
This is the crux of the new lawsuit Maui county brought against Hawaiian electric this week. Hawaiian electric is saying that they shut off the power prior to the second fire and the county is saying if Hawaiian electric knows about a second ignition source then now is the time to prove it. Otherwise the narrative is the downed power lines started both the morning fire and the afternoon fire in Lahaina.
The closest airport is Kapalua airport and it became an impromptu shelter the first night. Flights in and out of Kapalua get cancelled for wind all the time on regular non hurricane days. Also it’s a tiny airport. Biggest planes they host are 40 passengers. Ferries were banned decades ago.
The main airport in Kahului is too far for that many buses to travel without being seen. Also traffic out of Lahaina was gridlocked.
There are, however, 2 shipping containers at Kahului airport filled with bodies being kept chilled. Idk why those corpses and not the others. Maybe these bodies had more flesh on them?
There is nothing intact. The houses that were skipped had green grass. look at the satellite image https://storms.ngs.noaa.gov/storms/2023_hawaii/index.html#16.62/20.901994/-156.682495/32.4/60
There’s already a shit ton of military bases here. Yes Maui has none but we can totally manage the pacific fleet from Oahu.
Midway atoll is hardly used anymore but would be the better spot than Lahaina. Also don’t forget how huge our Okinawa bases are. We can kill china from Okinawa fairly handily In my opinion.
Every island is defended in some way. There are nuclear missile silos in Kauai pointing toward the east that have been there for 60+ years. Kihei Maui became popular with dod and air force in the 90s due to its protected nature. They both have bases there in Kihei.
Everything you said I believe is true except the DEWs in Lahaina.
Being born and raised in Maui I have seen it on fire many times. In my opinion it’s about half arson and half wind caused fires. Even when we burned sugar cane up until 2016 the only major x-factor was the wind.
In 2018 there was the exact same scenario where it burned lower parts of Lahaina, Launiupoko to be exact. Wind blowing down power lines the exact same way. There’s lots of videos of people filming the power lines going down in this most recent fire to convince me that it was the retardedness of Hawaiian electric that created this disaster.
How many times are you going to replace the exact same power line with the exact same power line? Bury them underground or replace the wooden poles with metal poles. It’s obvious this happened because they wanted it to happen.
Hawaiians are the only indigenous group NOT federally recognized. Every Native American, native Alaskan and Eskimo tribe is recognized except us.
Why you ask? Federal recognition is worth six to $12 billion per year.
With only about 400,000 Hawaiians left on planet earth you can imagine how rich Hawaiians would be if they got paid for their troubles.
During covid, money went out to indigenous and aboriginal people. Everybody got paid but Hawaiians. Honestly after going 120+ years without the money we don’t care we just want our land back.
Ellison bought it from Meg Whitman or some eBay ceo before that. Lots of rich people have been consolidating down Lanai in to a couple owners for years. Going all the way back to the Robinson family and even the Mormon church.
All the laborers to build lanai take the shuttle from Lahaina. Other than construction no one really commutes.
A lot of personal watercraft and boats left Oahu the next day with generators and supplies. Hawaii has lots of watermen and they all look after each other. The surf community above a certain age literally all know each other.
Dinesh D’Souza covers this in great detail. The Nazis actually thought the demonrats were too strict against Africans.
One example is the one drop rule. Demonrats said if you had one drop of african blood you were black and should be segregated. Nazis rule was 3 out of 4 grandparents had to be jewish to be considered jewish.
My favorite kind of hypocrite during fauxvid were the Trump haters that took the Trump vaxxines.
Ask her which Trump vaccine she took. Always brings out the NPC in them.
