Good news, the law was changed in Kentucky in 2021. If McConnell “vacates” his seat, the governor must choose one of three candidates presented to him by the KY Republican Party as a temporary placeholder. Afterwards a special election would be held to find his permanent replacement.
The pictures are out of order. The left side picture (of the ballot) is printed after the selections are made on the touchscreen (the picture on the right). The ballot is then cast into the ballot scanner that records the vote. If she cast that ballot then she voted for Trump.
I know there’s fuckery afoot everywhere so let’s not waste our time on this.
PS: I’m 100% in favor of paper ballots/fingerprints, whatever and getting rid of the machines.
As per my above comment, KY law changed in 2021 and the governor has to choose from three people selected by the KY Republican Party. The law was basically changed with McConnell in mind (it was basically his idea).
