Details matter
Every employer has to fill out an I-9 form for new employees. New employees have to provide evidence of 1) Identity and 2) the legal right to work in the USA. Employees can provide any of the types of ID listed for each category, and there are many on that list, but the employer cannot require specific IDs.
This company asked for specific IDs in violation of the law, which is why they're agreeing to pay a fine.
I remember.
I wanted Ron Paul to win in 2012. But after seeing what happened to Trump, I'm glad Ron Paul didn't win. Not because he has any bad policy positions, but because the media and the cabal are a bunch of rabid dogs. Trump was able to fight them off better than anyone could really. If Ron Paul were in the white house, I think they would have eaten him alive.
If you want an indepth analysis on social security, I recommend looking into some of the speeches given by Nobel laureate Milton Friedman on the subject. Here's one https://youtu.be/rCdgv7n9xCY
The tax is a regressive tax. You pay taxes on the first dollar of wage income up until the cap, and then no taxes beyond that. Sure, the other income taxes have all kinds of credits, but that is separate from how social security operates.
Lower income people start paying earlier in their lives. By that I mean folks who start working right out of high school, if not earlier, because they did not go to college. Sure some folks have a part-time high school job, and some have jobs on campus, but I'm talking about the poor folks, not middle class and above.
Lower income people often have the most backbreaking, physically intense, jobs which often shortens life expectancy.
Social Security is a Scam
- High income earners don't pay social security taxes above a certain threshold, effectively paying a lower percentage of income into the system
- Low income earners usually start paying into the system earlier in their lives, work for more years, get lower benefits, and are likely to die earlier
- The system depends on a consistent rate of population growth, which is unsustainable, and it depends on government not "borrowing" the money, which is unlikely
The solution is to abolish it and let people save for their own retirement however they want. But since it forces everyone to participate, as people get older they get an increasing sense of entitlement and dependence on the benefits. Eventually the retirement age has to increase and/or the money runs out.
Don't let them get away with that.
They openly violated the law and were completely ok with violating people's rights, all because the media told them to be afraid of a virus with a <1% kill rate.
Of course they'll want everyone to just forget about it.
That's not how Congress works
They're way too swampy to ever allow that to happen. Anyone who gets to a position of prominence, such as the Speaker, knows that if they challenge the cabal they and/or their families would be threatened or killed.
It's remarkable that we ever got any good folks in Congress, like Ron Paul, who would be the lone No vote on many bills.
A lot of Christians get twisted into pretzels over whether or not they can drink alcohol.
Drunkenness is always condemned in the Bible, so drinking to excess is wrong.
There's certainly many people that have grown up in homes where alcohol leads to one form of abuse or another. Abuse is always wrong.
Jesus' first miracle was changing water into wine. If drinking were a sin, that miracle would be contradictory to the character of Christ.
Lastly, Jesus and his disciples drank wine at the last supper and likely throughout their whole lives, because fermentation was one of the few ways to purify & store drinking water free from bacteria and other microorganisms that could carry disease.
Here's how the scam works:
- Victim deposits outgoing mail in a blue community mailbox
- Thief fishes out envelopes from the mailbox using something like a piece of gum on a string
- Thief takes the mail home
- Thief uses whiteout or whatever to change payees and amounts on the check, then uses electronic deposit into their account
- Victim realizes they're a victim when bills don't get paid and/or their account is lower on funds than expected
The key takeaway for me is don't deposit mail into those community boxes. If you're in an urban area, bring it inside the post office. If you're in a rural or suburban area, I wouldn't worry about it too much. It's too much effort for thieves to drive around and check each mailbox.
I doubt letter carriers are tampering with the mail. It's drilled into them that that's a federal crime and not only will they get fired, but they'll get prosecuted. There's probably a few bad apples there, but regular mail thieves in urban areas are more likely.
Yes, but also it's a rhyming Russian proverb, and the Russians love to speak in proverbs.
