The Thunder is the only NBA team to hold a prayer at the start of every home game and it doesn't necessarily have to be a Christian prayer. The team has also invited clergy representing Protestants and Catholics, Rabbis and even Native American leaders.

They've been doing it since the Hornets were in OKC in 2005, it’s a 'nondenominational invocation."

it's a non-story really.

too bad his fighters aren't given the same choice, every state requires 2 physicians ringside to do a pre and post physical exam of the fighters, so they do get checked out for medical issues not related to broken bones, or cuts and if the doctor finds something wrong they do not fight again until cleared by a doctor

He said if he were president at the time, “I’d be taking a very, very tough line” in response.

“I mean, you know, most people feel they know at least approximately the group of people that did this and where they are. But boy would you have to take a hard line on this. This just can’t be tolerated,”

Fake, shows it being issued by the "Republic of Kenya." Kenya was the Dominion of Kenya in and didn't adopt the name Republic of Kenya until 1964. No birth certificate from 1961 is gonna have “republic of Kenya”

here is the bloomberg article this website linked to. There is nothing in it that mentions 2 hours before.

(Bloomberg) -- Hawaiian Electric Industries Inc. soared after the utility pushed back against a lawsuit filed by Maui County that accused the company of starting the deadly Lahaina fire, suggesting that the county’s fire department may be responsible for losing control of the blaze.

While a fire on the morning of Aug. 8 was apparently caused by power lines falling in high winds, the second blaze that swept through the town of Lahaina in the afternoon started hours after Hawaiian Electric Co.’s power lines in the area had been turned off, the utility said Monday in a statement.

Shares of parent company Hawaiian Electric Industries surged as much as 52%, the most record. They had tumbled 70% before Monday. Maui County and investors sued the parent company last week, claiming the utility didn’t cut power and take safety measures to contain the fire.

“We were surprised and disappointed that the County of Maui rushed to court even before completing its own investigation,” Shelee Kimura, president and CEO of Hawaiian Electric Co., said in the statement. “We believe the complaint is factually and legally irresponsible.”

Attorneys for Maui County didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment.

The company’s comments set up what could become a contentious legal fight between the utility and Maui County over who’s to blame for a blaze that razed the historic town of Lahaina, killed at least 115 people and caused more than $5.5 billion in damages. Several lawsuits have also been filed against Hawaiian Electric on behalf of victims, accusing the utility of negligence for not turning off the power during critical wildfire conditions.

Hawaiian Electric said the Maui County Fire Department had responded to a morning fire apparently sparked by its power lines and declared by 9 a.m. that the fire was “100% contained.” The Maui County fire chief later reported that his crews had determined the fire was “extinguished,” Hawaiian Electric said.

Shortly before 3 p.m. local time that same day, Hawaiian Electric said its crew members spotted a small fire near the location of the original blaze. The utility said its lines in area had been turned off more than eight hours earlier.

“Unfortunately, the county’s lawsuit may leave us no choice in the legal system but to show its responsibility for what happened that day,” Kimura said.

Paxton has been suspended since May 23rd 2023. Paxton has been under indictment since 2015 on state securities fraud charges relating to activities prior to taking office. He has pleaded not guilty. The case has been delayed over various procedural issues, and has not yet come to trial. In October 2020, several high-level assistants in Paxton's office accused him of "bribery, abuse of office and other crimes."

Paxton was impeached with bipartisan approval in May 2023 by the Republican-controlled Texas House of Representatives. The articles of impeachment included allegations that Paxton gave preferential treatment to a political donor who bribed him, misapplied public resources and made false statements against whistleblowers, obstructed justice regarding Paxton's security fraud trial, and made false statements regarding his financial interests. Two days before, the Republican-led Texas House General Investigating Committee had unanimously recommended impeachment and presented articles of impeachment. Paxton is separately being investigated by federal prosecutors for the same legal issues on coinciding federal statutes.
