Is it just me or did anyone else immediately think of this image?
Years ago, there was a day-long power outage (scheduled) where we are. Wife and I are off-grid, so it was a non-event for us, but our neighbours didn't know what to do. We were going about our daily business, gardening, building, stacking firewood, etc. when neighbour and her daughter came over. They were bored and had no idea what to do. They wanted to just hang out, but we had work to do. If this had persisted for 10 days, they would have been given a 10 day intensive course in reality from us. This is how I see the "darkness" unfolding.
15 years ago, we had a Golden Retriever that had a tumor on her head. It was barely noticeable, but as soon as the vet took a tissue sample, it started growing quickly. Eventually her vision was affected because her eye was being squeezed and displaced. I wish I had the knowledge that this group shares back then. Maybe we could have treated her ourselves and given her a longer life.
My fingers are crossed for your pooch.
There are stereotypical caricatures on both sides of this debate. Calling vegans stupid is as wrong as a vegan calling you stupid. The real issue here is the desire to impose one's will on another. Those are the people that really bother me.
EXEMPTIONS! I've been in an ongoing, delicate battle with the health unit in our region, trying to get them to include the option for exemptions in their messaging. I'm doing this on their FB page, so I have to be careful with my comments or they'll block me. We started a FB group for all the people who've been blocked by them in the past so that they can see what's going on. There is a process to exempt your children, and you can ask your health unit to provide you with assistance, but they will not mention it without prompting.
When I first saw this post, it grabbed my attention because of the word "sterling". I thought it was a refreshing choice of words. Now, I'm wondering what prompted it due to the house explosion yesterday in Sterling. Weird.
That sounds patriotic. If you had said "Kia", it wouldn't have any oomph to it.
