I'm with you on causing an earthquake, but what about triggering an earthquake? And can you trigger it in such a way as to maximize the amount of damage?

(I'm thinking similar to how we trigger avalanches, the power in the avalanche is many orders of magnitude more than what was used to trigger it)

Wow, hearing this in a vacuum with no context would be the biggest WTF is he talking about?! But I (and I suspect most people on this board) know exactly what he is talking about.

There is a big difference between cancelling and no longer supporting. Cancelling would be calling employers trying to get him fired.. self employed? okay then let's target his payment processors to drop him. Does he have a website? target hosting companies to drop him. Does he have merch? target and pressure those companies to drop him.. that is cancelling. (and does not appear one iota to be what is happening here)

I think people fundamentally misunderstand how these large language models work. They shouldn't even really be classified as AI. There is no intelligence in there, it is just a giant set of weighted probabilities to predict text. You give it a prompt and it "guesses" what text should come next.

Granted it is pretty amazing what that can do.

One phrase that any data scientist, academic, business analyst etc.. would be familiar with is "Garbage in, garbage out"

If you have issues with collecting data, be it inaccuracies, or missing entirely, the conclusions you can reach from said data are essentially meaningless.

Transgender surgeries are at the end of a very long line of egregious, incremental violations of common decency... It's at least a "line in the sand", but needs to go much further imo.

Well it's also interesting that he says "He would never do such a thing!"

If you infer sarcasm, then it means the exact opposite of what was typed.

I would find myself in full agreement with you.. but I don't even do the whole social media thing. This board is pretty much it, and even that is pretty limited for me. Grief can do some strange things to people.

I guess whether or not it's real, it's a shame nonetheless.

It's a dark road this guy has walked down. I hope he can find the strength to come back.

Ain't that the truth. Makes you realize how much theatre is involved when it comes to "leaked" documents. If they want something secret, it will remain secret it seems.

It was basically 2 hours to say "Don't pretend you are fighting big tech when you enforce big tech policies in your contracts." and "I don't care about the money, I'm pure, and really get it".

I kind of get the point, and maybe more transparency is the answer. And then at the same time, I'm wondering why this even a thing. (I watched it, ... all, and yeah, not worth the time, the summary above says it all)

It's sad that entire governments and society as a whole can be overtaken by a small, loud, and insane minority of people. Elected officials just crumble before them, and everyday people just want to get along and end up acquiescing.

If politicians faced consequences, any consequences, for bowing down to these tyrants it wouldn't happen.

It's a shame that maintaining a stable and reasonable government takes so much work from everyday people. And it's an even bigger shame that most people just go along with it, in order to not rock the boat.

We shouldn't discriminate based on the color of skin

I have never heard a woke person say this. In fact if you say this they will call you racist. Skin color is the most important characteristic a person has according to them. And being "color-blind" is ignoring racial injustice and inequality or some such garbage.

I think he's done plenty of good too. I'm not a fan of digging into people's past to find things to destroy them, I'm sure everyone has something in this vein somewhere. Don't like him? best thing you can do is just ignore him, stop giving him attention. You don't need to go on a crusade to convince other's to hate him. I'm sick of ideological purity tests.

It is kind of depressing that all the rules are pretty much acknowledging that corruption is going to happen, and this will make it harder. None of these would be needed if we had good people.. but such is reality.

Still don't get what your "hint" is getting at; but why would saying the name of whatever it is be an issue, but admitting to building and using whatever it is is not an issue?
