I have some serious thinking to do, re-evaluate my movie and music collection... FFS some of those things shaped my personality growing up, the way I interact with people, some character traits that I am pretty proud of... Seriously, Tom Hanks... WTF?! And stupid fucking Friends show brought smile on my face through some pretty lost moments in my life. It's stupid, I know, but it would be completely dishonest to claim that pop culture did not affect us in significant way, at all... Something is seriously rotten in human nature.... Sorry for this rant, had to get it out...

I can’t hardly watch anything anymore. Takes the fun out if it when you either see a pedo, pedo symbols, or Illuminati/Satanic symbols in everything. Even Disney ... a lot of the old movies are still good though.
I don’t listen to mainstream music, haven’t for a long time.
For long drives I like to listen to podcasts or audio books. For short I guess I play the same game lol.
We never had cable or satellite tv. For a while we did Netflix - until they supported abortion. We still have Disney Plus but I’ve been considering giving it the boot.

You know I laughed along like a dope to Friends in my early 20’s but I was never a big fan, I wouldn’t go out of my way to watch (roommate was obsessed). Then a couple years ago I told my husband I didn’t like that show and he looked at my like I was crazy - just baffled him why I would have something against that show. Well I started to think and list the reasons why - Basically they are horrible people, they lie CONSTANTLY, they steal, they lie to each other,, they sleep around with each other and in general and are constantly scheming. I understand they weren’t on once a week to be Mr. Rogers (don’t tell me!) but they were awful characters that a whole lot of us watched as we were figuring out life (because our parents thought it would make them much cooler to just let us twist in the wind and figure it out for ourselves.) it makes me feel totally duped - and I know why they call it television programming.
I used to love that show. But as I look back on it now I realize you're right. They use to get into a lot of edgy material but they did it in such a humorous and Non-edgy way that they made these ideas and behaviors seem totally normal.
I could cite examples but I won't. The point is, MAGIC is about transforming, about deception. The first deception of Hollyweird is that we are fooled into believing these are good people.
Lastly, I used to think Jennifer Aniston was a pretty wholesome person. That was her public persona. And she may have been decent at the start, like they all are. But if anyone saw Horrible Bosses you see that she more like that character than she'd probably admit.

Jesus, some of the best things I learned in my life, where it feels like I evolved the most, were done with my wife, after we committed to the fucking thing, and decided to be stubborn to make it work. I literally did not learn anything in casual relationships, even ones where I lived with them for a period of time. Nothing aside how evil and immature people can be when they feel like they have a way out, when they do not make a choice to grow rather than to entertain themselves. And that I did not need to waste my time living with somebody to learn. That I've seen amongst friends and family, there was no wisdom there. Whole of my growing up people were giving me shit and giving good hearten advice (even my own father) that I need to have "practice" girls, before I get to real thing. Funny how almost all of them dabbled into some side activities when the things got tough during their marriage.... Not for everybody, I get that, too, but the marriage is one of the best things I ever did in my life!

Yeah some members of RHCP are transgenders. I'm a huge fan of Megadeth, but I know deep down even they've been compromised, although Dave Mustaine has claimed to be a born again Christian. Even sports is completely messed up. Anthony Joshua is female to male shoulders aren't broad. And small hands & feet. Yes there's something "bad" about human nature, and that something is the "nature" part of it, it must be mastered, that's one of the main reasons of our sojourn in this place I believe, trying to master it, it's naturally "bad" for a reason.
Honestly it's just the animal in us, if you think about it, animals have no problem in mating or eating their young... it happens all the time, in many different species, and when we see it happen over there we just chalk it up as "oh well, they're animals", it takes human consciousness to lift us up away from that, the problem with that is that it's a double edged sword, it can either help you master that nature, or end up supercharging it.
This sort of thing happens when there's very little mastering involved... and of course the fact that you have so many engaged in this in the same group is simply because said corrupted group only takes that sort of people, it should not be used to measure the state of mankind.
The conflict you're experiencing is the same all will experience if it's true and if it all comes to light, but conflict is a good thing, it's the only thing that causes growth.
