Originally, it was extremely profitable, but now it’s more profitable to manufacture in India for example.

Don't see why not. In many, probably even most, countries throughout the world it is prohibited for non citizens to own land. The Americas and Europe are actually unique in this perspective by allowing it.
If you can, it's in small amounts and use is limited - have been looking at retiring outside the U.S. and it's amazing how strict the requirements are compared to here, where you need a pulse and not much else.

Big business sees where this is headed. When this dam breaks the USA will put MASSIVE sanctions on China. They won't be allowed to do business there anymore and still do business in the USA. They are running away from China as quickly as they can while not making a huge fuss about it.
