We all fail at it. Don't feel like you are alone! I realized at some point that I was unable to change myself, or I'd take two steps back for every step forward. I started praying to God to change me, mold me as I could not do it alone. I started reading the Bible more. I noticed over time that I started to change and it wasn't due to my own effort. Some of the things I used to do I just don't do anymore - those things are repulsive to me now (and may it always be so!). The narrow path is a journey and there is no end until we are Home. Each one of us on that path has their own trail - tailored to what each of us needs. Parts of it will be painful, shameful, and incredibly humbling - but all of it is meant to hone and purify us. Look up! Seek God first! The rest will come in time.

I fail in many ways too, but I think humility is one area I am okay with.

You may be a more competent worker than them. But the important point is how you go about treating others in light of that. If you were around a more skilled worker, how would you want them to treat you?

A lot of times the answer to these questions is found in the golden rule. Do unto others as you would have done to yourself.

I remember as a teen doing something stupid, like accidentally spilling a drink on my shirt. And my friends would laugh at me and call me names and point their finger, over a mistake. But when they would spill a drink on themselves I wouldn't do the same, I would offer them a washcloth. I would say "yeah, I've done the same thing, it sucks."

Because those situations taught me how I didn't like to be treated. And then we have to be able to apply it to others when we're in that position of strength and power.

It's not always easy. I fail a lot as well, so I know it isn't easy to walk in the footsteps of Christ.

Are you judging the action or the person?

I don't think "person" is a term that Jesus was fond of. I believe it was Man or Woman only.

The only thing we have the capacity to be truly equal about is the application of laws, and that's only given a true system of justice, but that is what is meant in the Declaration of Independence. Otherwise, we're each unique and on our own journey. In these journeys, some of us are 'stuck on stupid' and, while I don't want to be around people like that, I can have compassion for their lack of understanding, which often causes them to make their lives harder than life has to be. Some of them may actually have qualities that are noteworthy and those are the only things I would compliment them about. Otherwise, I'd say nothing. If you're in a work environment where you feel you have to toady up to others in order to get ahead, I'd say it's time to hunt for other employment.

You need to find a job where people want to strive for excellence and have strong beliefs and healthy boundaries.

If this isn't possible don't judge people that are lost. You should focus on doing your best as you can because you are tested daily.

Being tested daily is a cornerstone of being a Christian IMO. I do not look down upon people that make poor choices or fall into their vices. I feel sorry for them and hope they can see the light sooner or later!

Just remember... Jesus wasn't always a nice, calm guy.

He wrecked a few temples in his day and threw things around to make a point. The bible tells a little about this. You have to fill in the rest.

It all starts with forgiveness. First forgive yourself, for we all fail to be christlike. Then, when you have accepted forgiveness for your self, and gods love and forgiveness, then you can begin to forgive others too.

Jesus tells us to "Love our Enemies and to pray for them". I'm having a real hard time with that. I guess maybe I should pray that their eyes will be open to what they are doing and that they repent. I would prefer to pray that they all get what they deserve but then I get busted by the Holy Spirit reminding me that I have nothing to talk about.

Fren, we can’t do it in our own effort. When Jesus told His disciples He was leaving He said there would be Someone like Him who would be their Comforter, Advocate, Paraclete...called the Holy Spirit (third person of the Trinity). As Christians, we pray to God, in the name of Jesus, through the power of the Holy Spirit. ASK = Ask, Seek, Knock. Ask God to be filled with the power of the Holy Spirit to supernaturally help you live more like Christ. You will begin to see a spiritual transformation, by God’s grace. Blessings! https://www.gotquestions.org/power-Holy-Spirit.html

It isn't about being "nice" it is about being aligned with Truth. Christ is the Way, The Truth and the Life.

Every day, get on your knees and beg Christ for mercy.

In the morning, thank God for life and pray to know what you need to work on.

Remember salvation and forgiveness of sins are free. The struggle with sin is real and it will never end. As long as you keep turning back to Christ all can be made right.

I found past sins can be a huge stumbling block. Pray to be shown what you need to repent of. Then ask for forgiveness and in Jesus Name tell the demonic spirits that gained entry to be cast out and forbidden to return, and for any doorways to demonic influence to be closed and sealed with the Blood of Jesus. That made my life and walk with the Lord a lot easier.

If you have not done this before, your faith and resolve will be tested; the enemy always tries to undermine and weaken us: stand fast, rebuke the lying spirits and keep your eyes on Jesus. Call on His Name for help, He will never leave or forsake you. Ask for strength and for your faith to grow daily, put on the armour (Ephesians 6:10-18). Feed on the word daily, preferably with a King James bible (the rest, even the new KJ are adulterated). And praise and give thanks without ceasing. The closer you get to Him, the easier it becomes. Bless you.

It may not be as hard as you think. What did Jesus do to the money changers in the temple? It's Christ-Like to be righteous, denounce the evils in this world and cut no one slack. Abortion, trafficking, gun control, taxes, fake money, homo/lesbian sex, tranny's, it's a long list be bold. Have you seen the new push on Jesus? He was/is a racist. REEEEEEEEEE

Being critical of others and how “blind” they are is my biggest downfall.. I actively try to turn it around and speak truth. They most likely don’t know Christ and can not SEE their heinous sins against Him. It helps me pray for the human He created and not criticize the fallen side we all have. Prayers friend <3

Even though this has nothing to do with Q, I’ll offer my perspective. Work is nothing more than a microcosm of life. What are the root causes for the behaviors you identify? Appearing lazy is oftentimes because someone has become deeply jaded, they have lost hope that working in this organization will fulfill more than their need for a paycheck.

Being manipulative can have several root causes, but at the base they are trying to fill a need. Maybe they need recognition, or they think it is the only way to keep their job. The list is endless. My personal experience is you have to take the time to talk and really listen to people to understand their true needs, when you do you might be humbled for thinking poorly of someone.

I had that experience with a person I thought badly of until I learned his mom and dad both died when he was very young. His mom from a disease and his dad died while committing a crime. I went from believing this person was limited to seeing they were actually an overachiever.

May I try to help? Seems like your confusing walking in faith with Christ with professional courtesy...they are two different things yet still intertwined. Walking with Christ is for your heart and soul, business doesn't usually equate with that and is based on production and the bottom line.

So your responsibility to your soul is personal between you and the Lord. Follow the 10 commandments, these are God's basic laws for man...Approach work with wisdom, decide what hill your willing to die on vs which your willing to not climb or climb somewhat. We all have encountered coworkers that are slackers, rude, arrogant or just not our cup of tea. Avoid those you can and did deep for humility when you can't...probably one of the most written directives in the bible is "humility before honor"...remain humble in the eyes if the Lord and others...

Do not judge others lest you be judged....instead work on understanding that not all are enlightened. This will allow you to approach the problems from a different viewpoint ....if you are young in your faith, as you imply, then pray for "Wisdom" she has sat at the feet of God since before creation and is highly favored....if you ask for her guidance, humbly, she will help you find the right words at the right time...

Blessings!

For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast. Ephesians 2:8‭-‬9 NIV

We all fall short of the glory of God! What helps me, and I'm far from perfect, is to try and forgive myself, as Jesus does, and to read my Bible every single night before I go to sleep. Wake up, and start the day with a prayer of thanks and for blessings, and each day becomes a little easier to be a better Christian.

holding me back professionally

This might be where you can reduce your worry for this worldly thing... God has a plan for your life, whether you know it or not. Perhaps God’s plan for you isn’t that you advance professionally, but stay where you are, or maybe a different path lies in your future.

I would suggest continue to pray for God to reveal what His will is for you and then align your future decisions with God’s will. In the meantime, show love to those around you without a care for how the world reacts, keep love at the top of your priority list when making decisions and you will be on the right path, regardless of what others are doing.

If you need a definition of love, check out what Paul says to the church in Corinth in 1 Corinthians 13.

Maybe this workplace isn’t the right place for you. But this could also be a place where you shine.

In general the Bible says it’s better to be in good company. And bad company can corrupt morals by continual influence.

I pray God blesses and guided you and gives the means to thrive.

I pray, dear sibling, in the name of Jesus Christ, that God would draw you near and show you the Light of Jesus via His Holy Spirit and show you the Way which is Jesus and Jesus Christ, the Son of God, alone. None of our works will ever please Him, yet if we work in gratitude for the Grace God shed on us by pouring out His wrath for Jesus in our stead, I believe we can all come to a better obedience and servitude to our Master, Jesus Christ. He sees our depravity and He knows our sins, and I know He has the will and the Power to change us into His image. Repent and believe the gospel as it's put. He loves us all that are His. Even the world. Obedience, sibling. Get up and try again. For if He can have mercy on a wretched sinner, as Paul even said, so i also iterate, "of whom I am the chiefest" ; Then i know He won't abandon you.

I pray the Holy Ghost has given me this utterance,

"Get up, my beloved; try again."

Definitely read Romans 7 (kjv preferably) Paul felt the exact same way you feel now when he wrote that chapter, I do believe.

My own brethren have led me there when I've felt my most wretched.

I struggle with every fruit of the spirit... Jesus is not only our example but also our intercessor. He knows we aren't perfect and loves us anyway.

Just don't give up. Pinpoint the things you struggle with most and find verses or chapters to counter it.
