Is buying random silver, misc from retailers like SD Bullion the equivalent in value as buying it new, just appearance wise makes it a few dollars cheaper?
Quality of silver.. 99.9 fine is the goal. If you find mixed it's still good. Price is issue. Are you buying the coin / jewelery or paying for the silver. China Town they mark all the pewter with the silver grade on them. It's worthless pewter sold at pewter prices normally, but they will act like it's silver. A test kit is recommended if you buy from unknown sources.
Bullion is bullion and worth the same melt price whether it’s shiny or toned, new or preloved. Some people put more value on American silver eagles because of the ease of selling + you should get back a bit more than spot value.
I would advise to order from the big online sellers/mints or a local trusted coin shops who tests each piece for authenticity. Third party sales, make sure you know how to identify real silver.
There’s a difference between bullion (rounds, bars, etc., issued by random private mints) vs coins (issued by government mints). The coins are well-recognized and trusted for their silver content (such as Silver Eagles, and junk silver that is old silver dimes/quarters). Certain reputable private mints will have bars/rounds that are well-recognized and trusted too. Old junk silver (dimes, quarters, etc) is just worth the melt value of the silver content, and is good to have in case of SHTF emergency bartering. Uncirculated Silver Eagles and certain other coins will sell with a premium due to collector’s value though.
Yeah thats always the funny part. Tobacco, storage food, alcohol, and water will be worth more than even silver and likely gold if it ever got that crazy
I have a 14-ft diameter above ground pool I got for $200 at Walmart for the kids (and adults sometimes). I’ll always be sure to at least have something this size for emergency water storage. It’s also close enough to a roof gutter downspout in case I ever needed to run it to the pool for rainwater.
The silver story is so much bigger than most realize. Hoping to see everyone on this site to connect the dots. Been stacking physical since GME went crazy and the shills attempted to get everyone into SLV to cover their shorts. Buy physical, even if its an oz or two!
Is an ounce or 2 really enough though? I dont know much about stuff like this.
Ive been wanting to get some. But dont know how much of it wiuld make me happy when ut goes through the roof,if it does. Even if it doesnt, its not a loss of money.its just money with extra steps to spend it.
It can’t hurt. Only use money u won’t need anytime soon and then sit back and look at it’s beautiful shiny goodness. Something about polished silver is a little addictive.
At the moment im hotel surfing cuz apartments are hard to come by around here. So no bills other than car, phone and food.
Im lucky enough i work for myself but git a halfass kinda job that pays me real well.
I can afford to drop a couppe hundred here and there. Im just gonna spend it on something i wont need anyways. Like i said. Its money with extra steps to spend. As long as i dont lose it somehow, ill never be broke.
Buying silver is changing your currency to money. If the dollar falls (hyper inflation) silver keeps it's value. this is protecting your wealth, not increasing it. If this guy bought silver he wouldn't have wall paper
In my opinion 1 or 2 oz is not enough. That's where I started though and immediately wanted more and got into researching it. I started buying bullion monthly and now am trying to get 90% silver for smaller denomination.
Ive been looking around and im seeing 10oz bar for 350-400.00. Im thinking about dropping the 4 bills for one. Im just not educated on precious metals enough to make sure im not buy a bar thats got steel chunk in the center or something.
Use findbullionprices dot com
You can search for the weight you want. Silvergoldbull dot com also has really great 1 oz round prices. I have only ordered from apmex dot com. Usually a little higher premium, but will auto update your cart for their inventory
Problem is,i dont have the ability to buy online easily. And i dont like buying stuff online anyways.id prefer to walk into a shop or somebodies home and drop the cash and go.
Go to a coin/collectibles shop. Maybe a pawn shop if you live somewhere like Vegas. Check the prices online first.
1 oz is about $25 + premium. For a 1 oz coin you'll pay $33-$37 or so. Silver is artificially being held down in price too, so there is an expectation it will rise in value without considering it's protection from inflation. Look online for SIlverSqueeze if you are interested in learning more.
Chris Duane has a LONG video on youtube all about silver. He mentions that throughout history, a manual laborer earned 1/10th of an ounce of silver as a daily wage. His argument is that only the last 80 yrs or so of fiat currency changed this.
Spare a thought for us in UK. Any kind of physical silver comes with a 20% sales tax, which makes stacking pretty pointless unless it's really to the moon and then you don't care about the 20%
You can also buy physical silver by buying PSLV or maybe through Kinesis.
I know Bullion Europa can deliver physical silver without VAT. Not sure if that's also the case for the U.K.
Im figuring even if i payed 50 an ounce right now,i ll still make money on it in the future.might be 10 years but its just money sitting there that i cant spend.
Finally got one of my brothers stacking now. Silver is the most manipulated asset in the world. The end will be fantastic. Due to the scarcity, industrial demand (which will only increase as economies improve), and the blatant manipulation some are suggesting a 1:1 with gold. Gold is also heavily manipulated. The implementation of Nesara/Gesara and the world moving to asset backed currencies will drive the price action and destroy the shorts. Great time to be alive.
The implementation of Nesara/Gesara and the world moving to asset backed currencies will drive the price action and destroy the shorts. Great time to be alive.
If I live to see the central banks destroyed and NESARA implemented, I'll be a happy camper
Trump was about to do it, that's why they shit-canned him.
Folks are realizing that Physical Silver is ON SALE big time right now and therefore supply is starting to run low.....if you can find it buy it now while the price is still affordable.
I don't have all the information but it seems like thats when a lot of shorts will expire. Which means they will have to buy back their naked shorts and if the don't shut down the exchanges again like Robin hood it will skyrocket again. Some say it may happen sooner. Filter DD on wallstreetbets for more information
I have bought >$5000.00 in silver rounds in the last couple months.
Refinanced my house and took a little extra out for this purpose.
I have $8000.00 in a IRA I was thinking about pulling out also.
I know how most of us feel about reddit on here, but the group wallstreetsilver has a lot of great information. Filter DD if you don't only want to look at beautiful stacks! https://www.reddit.com/r/Wallstreetsilver/
User: Thehappyhawaiian has the best rundown imo.
plenty of places. I prefer apmex.com . i also own a fair amount of PSLV (Closed End fund/trust) that holds physical silver. you can take delivery of it if you want or let them store it in their vault.
Can confirm... No large amounts of silver to be found for physical delivery in the USA. If you can find one... Buy it. No one can find anything in the Kg range.
Check out the shenanigans at the Perth Mint. The offer “unallocated” silver you can buy at today’s spot price and they will hold it. Their terms and conditions say it will take up to 10 days to allocate and deliver your silver when you want it. They are now defaulting and offering people cash if you don’t want to wait months in line.
There are rumors they shipped a lot of their stores to the Comex.
I am still very new to the idea of investing in precious metals. I am learning as I go. I have an old savings bond that I am considering cashing in and then taking the cash and going to a local Bullion to purchase some silver dollars in person, rather than online. Do any of you purchase coins online? I purchased a few silver rounds online, but very small. I am hesitant to purchase anything larger online. Please let me know if I am just paranoid, and that larger purchases of silver online can go just as smoothly as smaller ones. I want to have something left to give to my precious grandchildren someday.
If you buy from an established online dealer, you have nothing to fear. But buying from local coin shops or buying government-minted coins from banks are also valid options.
Some reputable online dealers in the U.S. are:
JD Bullion
SD Bullion
Provident Metals
Silver Gold Bull
And in Canada:
Silver Gold Bull Canada
Sprott Money
If you buy from one of those you can rest assured your silver will be real, and they won't steal your personal info or your money. Do NOT buy on eBay unless you're a pro, though, and avoid Chinese sellers like the plague, most fake silver comes from Chinese eBay sellers.
Feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. :)
Thanks so much for your help with this. I truly appreciate it! I was quite hesitant to buy online because I had no knowledge of any trustworthy companies, so again, thanks so much for stearing me in the right direction!
I think buying silver is a great thing to do right now, I highly recommend it. I also think cashing in your savings bond for that purpose is the right call - interest rates are now so low that they don't even cancel out inflation. So your savings bond is likely losing you money right now, instead of making you money. Physical silver avoids this issue, and will help protect your wealth in the long-term from inflation and hyperinflation (which is a very real possibility thanks to a year of lockdowns, stimulus bills and other deep state insanity).
BTW APMEX is another U.S. online dealer you can trust.
I highly recommend you buy the cheapest silver you can find online on one of those sites, don't buy the pretty coins that cost a lot more for the same silver content, just try to get as many ounces of silver for your money. Usually, generic silver rounds would be your best bet - they don't look fancy, but silver is silver. I recommend sticking to 1 oz rounds or 1 oz bars unless you're buying hundreds of ounces, in which case you can consider buying some 5 oz, 10 oz, 1 kg or 100 oz bars as well. But generally larger bars are trickier to sell or trade, whereas coins or rounds are very liquid - meaning they're in demand, and the easiest to sell or trade. Just don't buy anything smaller than 1oz rounds (such as 1/2 oz or 1/4 oz), it's unnecessary and the premiums are huge, so you'd end up paying a lot more per ounce.
And just make sure the silver is 999 or 9999 pure (either is fine, there's no real difference), and you're good to go!
The spot price is artificially depressed on purpose same as gold and has been for decades. When patriots take full control the ceiling will be removed and to the moon it will go.
How curious it is that the cabal really does feel threatened by Pi, the one crypto that they can't control from the outset by whale-buying in at the beginning -- why is that? ...I mean, if I were recommending Dogecoin or something else low-valued, nobody would give a shit. There might be derisive laughter, but shill-teams on speed-dial wouldn't be showing up to dish out double-digit downvotes and jackhammer the deport button.
That's always a "tell", and "these people are stupid".
" I think ill keep my physical silver. lol"
Of course it's good for you to talk your book, but bad for me to talk mine? Hypocrisy much?
God help anyone who listens to you snake-oil merchants.
Most of the market is shell companies, derivatives and way overvalued tech companies.. all that value will go poof into thin air exactly where it came from. The market will not bounce back after a crash this time.
Haha I feel it, just did my 3rd order and the biggest at ordering 10oz, thought I was doing pretty good for a noob, got to start pumping my numbers up
If I may ask a Q..
Is buying random silver, misc from retailers like SD Bullion the equivalent in value as buying it new, just appearance wise makes it a few dollars cheaper?

Absolutely!
Thanks, I do believe Ill be buying myself a 10oz bar a month or so from here on out!
Nice to hear! Sounds like a good strategy.

I'm curious about this as well
Junk silver and gram weight gold isnt a bad idea either just in case we go full Mad Max.
Ammo and alcohol will be just as valuable in that situation.
Yeah thats always the funny part. Tobacco, storage food, alcohol, and water will be worth more than even silver and likely gold if it ever got that crazy

Careful with roof water...lots of nasties unless you are filtering it.
Bird shit included....
Chemtrail particulates...
Hahaha right ? Me too I buy ounces ..
A kilo is about 30 ounces. Buy ounces instead unless you need bragging rights. More convenient for trade.
The silver story is so much bigger than most realize. Hoping to see everyone on this site to connect the dots. Been stacking physical since GME went crazy and the shills attempted to get everyone into SLV to cover their shorts. Buy physical, even if its an oz or two!
Those in the states can use their 1400 covid relief payment or a portion to get some ozs right now. I bought several over the past couple of months.

it's because you can feel that it's real money and valuable. Makes a nice noise too.
I tried this with 1 oz coins and couldn't balance one to save my life...
It will preserve your wealth when the dollar becomes toilet paper. I have used jmbullion.com for years with great results.
At the moment my wealth consists of 5 100 dollar bills i got tucked in a book. Not much to preserve but hopefully alot to gain.
This. Currently putting physical cash back, and paying off debt at record timing. I do not want to be owned by debt if shit goes downhill.
Make sure you have enough money to pay the utilities, food and mortgage/rent first.
No use in buying silver and selling it for a loss in 3 months because you needed the cash.
At the moment im hotel surfing cuz apartments are hard to come by around here. So no bills other than car, phone and food.
Im lucky enough i work for myself but git a halfass kinda job that pays me real well.

Not financial advice, YMMV. Good luck!
According to USDebtClock, the dollar to Silver ratio is just under $5,000 an ounce.
Could you please explain what this means? I'm curious to know.
Ignore the paper price. Buy the physical.
Because if you don't hold it, you don't own it.

JMBullion has bars, even up to 1 KG.
Always shop around. The prices fluctuate a lot between dealers.
You will at the end of April
What happens in April for GME ?

I just took your advice, purchased 2 x 1 silver town kilo bars. $2144.00 at check out, $4.25 over spot

Wow thank you for the news, because I kept hearing your country still had 1000 oz bars widely available
After a year of debate I finally bit the bullet and ordered myself 10 1oz bars of silver.
If this doesn't work out, my broke ass is coming back as a ghost to haunt you guys!
If you would have ordered a year ago you would have had almost 20oz of silver for the same price. Just saying.
Thanks for reminding me!
u/#bernieclap
i finally got my last order mailed out, cant wait for it to arrive. It took them over a month to process.
Just got in a crypto based order for 5 kilo bars, 50x rounds and 5oz of Gold...
I think I need a new safe.

Perth mint limiting purchases as well. Bullshit
Only 5 per household please, or we all suffer high silver prices. We dont want that, do we?

Shilling for some dumb ass imaginary crypto that they are giving away everywhere. I think ill keep my physical silver. lol
Yep can't use crypto to make a computer board or anything else for that matter.
Doesnt hurt to do something thats free.

apmex now has a $300 minimum on purchases again.
I think the market has to totally crash before this is all over unfortunately.
If you have a 401K I would back everything out and put it chunk into the precious metals market and IRA the rest. 401K's are going to tank.

The irony of Buffet's comment, though.
