When you have been struggling alone for so long, the idea that Jesus loves you is terrifying. 'He is the warm hug you never got growing up' and 'the strong arms that carry you when you give up' seem fantastical statements for others only.
Even if one does nothing else but ask 'why is God's love not there for me?', it is enough to open your heart.
I had a moment of clarity when a tape loop about my abusive father started rolling-I shut it off when I realized the Heavenly Father is to be trusted unconditionally and once you open your heart, decades of sad remorse evaporate...
This is a faithful saying and worthy of all acceptance, that Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners, of whom I am chief.
1 Timothy 1:15
Heartfelt and beautiful littlepede!
Before I was certain of God's existence I tried sincerely praying maybe once, or twice. Once I became absolutely certain of God's existence I prayed a few more times, but still not as much as I probably should.
The main recurring theme in my prayers has been to open the eyes of every conscious soul and to give them at least a glimpse, if not a week, in the light of God.
Just so that they could remember what they are missing out on and get deep understanding of what the heck they're doing and making amends before being judged.
Last night I realized something. All you have to do is love God with all of your heart and choose to constantly be a better person. That's Christianity in a nutshell. It's really that easy. Everything else will just open up to you. I was so blown away by that realization that I broke down into tears.
One of Satan's biggest lies is that you're too far gone. "You've stepped in it now, there's no going back". All lies.
Hear the word of the LORD:
Acts 3:19 - "Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord"
Isaiah 45:22 - "Turn to Me and be saved, all the ends of the earth; For I am God, and there is no other."
Numbers 23:19 - "God is not man, that he should lie, or a son of man, that he should change his mind. Has he said, and will he not do it? Or has he spoken, and will he not fulfill it?"
Psalm 91:4 - "He will cover you with his pinions, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness is a shield and buckler."
All verses are New American Standard Bible translations.
Never forget Jesus was also a bad ass and sometimes we need a little John 2:15 "So he made a whip out of cords, and drove all from the temple courts, both sheep and cattle; he scattered the coins of the money changers and overturned their tables." Beautiful post nonetheless
Lovely sentiments, I could not agree more, but it's falling on deep state deaf ears because they believe in Jesus as much as we believe in Santa Claus.
I turned to God to live and to be alive. Jesus said “Let the dead bury the dead.”. People over the centuries have thoughts and have opinions about that statement. You could sum them up this way. Scripture is full of urgency. Be urgent about following Jesus. Be urgent about responding to his calling. Be urgent about doing his will. Don’t assume you will have a chance to do it later. That day may never come.
The moment you are born, there is an unbroken line between you and your grave. We have heard with lines like “time stops for no one” which is quite true. A lot of people are so concerned with life after death they never stop to question whether that are alive to begin with. The only way to be truly alive, to be filled with ecstasy, with joy, and experienced life beyond temporary happiness, is to be in harmony and unity with God. We see people chasing happiness like it was something you could find on a store shelf. It is near and it is free.
Happiness is in Jesus Christ and his redemption. Nothing is life brings more happiness than being forgiven. When you can find peace when you are pursued, persecuted for your faith, is when you experience happiness.
Death, the fear of it, haunts the human like nothing else. Though the Christian has no immunity from death and no claim to perpetual life on this planet, death is to him a friend. “Everything which happens prior to death is a preparation for the journey. Death marks the beginning, not the end. It is a solemn, dramatic step in our journey to God.
For if we have been united with [Jesus] in a death like his, we will certainly also be united with him in a resurrection like his.
And with that attitude those who are lost will keep themselves far beyond being open to Jesus.
Make no mistake, He will turn away those He does not know at the end. You cannot save Him for a rainy day or put Him off until it's "convenient". That is not how that works.
However.
Do you think Saul/Paul was too far gone? The man who persecuted and killed Christians and ENJOYED it? The man who people said "he's too far gone"?
God not only had a wonderful plan for Paul and Paul accomplished great things, but Paul was also now had the ability to reach those who were just like him, who had done the things that he had done. It was because of the life he left, that he was able to do far greater things once he changed how his life was going. But he had to choose.
Most are lost forever, once you blasphemed the Holy Spirit, that has no forgiveness and most of them already did it. That’s the only sin that has no forgiveness, their damned souls go straight to the devils lap.
Is it the whole spirit cooking thing? I read on here once that the spirit cooking ritual destroys the 7th chakra, and exiles the Holy Spirit from your being.
I looked into that, and found no real information. I'd love some education on the topic.
Repentance has nothing to do with worldly authorities, its between you and God. A child rapist or a murderer who repents doesn't have to go to jail to be saved, he's forgiven by Jesus when he accepts Him. No strings attached. That being said, if others might be harmed as a Christian you need to speak up. Prosecutors will almost certainly offer immunity in exchange for exposing crimes like this.
Let's take the extreme example of someone who kidnaps and sexually abuses, then murders children. If that man repents to God, but continues to murder children, is he really repentant? Or does he want his cake and eat it too? At the end of the day, neither of us are in a position to say what threshold God uses in qualifying repentance. I'm not even saying he won't go to Heaven. That's between him and God. But I'm not sure that's true repentance.
If a corrupt politician knowingly cheats in an election, lies every day to his constituents and accepts bribes to make nefarious decisions, decides to repent, but continues to retain power (and accept bribes, do evil stuff, etc), what has changed? I feel like some effort has to be made in order for it to be true repentance.
Back to the OP's original message, it's never too late. God will accept you regardless of the past, but you have to do your part going forward.
Psalm 97:10:
Let those who love the Lord hate evil,
for he guards the lives of his faithful ones
and delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
Repentance, in a very simplistic explanation - "being sorry enough to quit." Again, very simplistic version. If a person continues the sin for which they repented, they didn't actually repent.
Well theoretically sin can be forgiven again and again. Go and sin no more is a suggestion not a law because no man can not sin again, since the theoretical human condition is sin
Now if you measure sin by conscience, then perhaps it is possible for man not to sin after repentance. A rapist who continues to rape would fail by that standard.
What would probably happen is this...
if a child rapist continued raping children but truly repented each time, it would be found at judgment. His soul would endure because he is forgiven, but the fire that tests gold would cause him so much pain and suffering he might as well have gone to hell.
Then again, God is a quantum omniscient existence. He sees far beyond us. If he sees child rapist behavior is actually the result of socially or environmentally caused mental illness, and essentially those actions are primal subhuman ways of lashing out against the inequity of a broken existence, He might just have absolute mercy for him and the cross he beared everytime
Who are we to know God? I think sometimes it is just easier for our limited world view to think of an angry Judeo Christian GOD who would not hesitate at forever eradicating what we perceive only as evil. It is harder as mere humans to truly believe in God as the great redeemer because the thought even the worst of us can escape judgment is mind boggling
This way of thinking doesn't take the Holy Spirit into account - I don't think you quite understand.
When you accept Jesus as leader of your life and repent from your sins, truly, you receive the Holy Spirit. When you truly become a Christian, the Holy Spirit is a part of this. From that moment on, by hopefully growing in a new relationship with the Lord, He also refines you and grows you - your Christian walk consists of becoming more like Christ, who lived a life pleasing to God and had the ultimate relationship with His Father. The Holy Spirit works within you and you lose the desire of things you did while living for yourself. Are we still going to mess up, be tempted, and stumble? Yes. We still sin and won't be perfect until we reach the Father and see Him face to face. Until then, we are ever growing and being refined by the Lord - shedding our old self and putting on the new.
If there is no change from how you were before Christ (i.e., still committing the horrible acts you were committing), it is unlikely that there was ever a change to begin with. True repentance says "I don't want to live like this anymore and I am actively going to give up these things with the help of the Lord"
Satan is the master deceiver. Those who are under his reign have not known Jesus and His ability to save.
During Jesus' time, His chosen disciples were just as evil as the ones you are calling be put to death. God can use evil for good. This prayer is to that point.
There is salvation and forgiveness to those who turn away from evil.
God Wins = Doesn't matter if the evil ones turn away or find salvation. God gave people free will to choose their path but also gave them an out... just like Trump is giving these evil people an out. If they choose not to take it, hell have mercy on their souls.
“As for you, you meant evil against me, but God meant it for good, to bring it about that many people should be kept alive, as they are today.” Genesis 50:20
The reality is that they will either be arrested for their crimes and die in prison, or die some other way. We're going to die. As Kappy said - there's judgment coming and you need to save your soul before you lose your life AND your soul.
Beautiful post thank you.
Yep. People need to turn to god before it's too late.
I was reading it thinking exactly the same.
It sucks too because I keep pushing this, yet most of my family is sucked into fear porn, trusting the media, and the government.
Also, they got the jabs and want more jabs. I feel like only a select few of us will be left when judgment comes.
We are in the middle of "Children of Men". Unfortunately we are only in the Prologue.
Amen!

The absolute craziest thing about this is that every single word of it is true.
It's all about jesus, and when we realise that, everything changes.
Amen

The thing is that Satan gets people so deep in sin that to come to Jesus would end their reputation, and perhaps even their lives.
They're slaves.
And I say: Save your soul before you lose your life AND your soul.
Satan designed it as an uphill battle.
Some are perfectly happy with the role they play for the devil.
Some probably want out. To those who do, its not going to be easy, but the only way to not burn for all eternity.
GOD can do it though. There are literally billions of cases of truly terrible sinners turning it around and getting saved.
The irony is that many of these people become the strongest, most convincing voices for Christ.
Praise GOD!
Very well said, fren and disciple! Amen

This is exactly what I needed this morning, thank you Anon.
The brotherhood of Man wins again and again in small ways that make God smile.

I can’t believe I took time off from cutting my goats throat to read this....!
I’ll never get that time back now.... Thanks!!

Sad fact: Katy Perry started her career as a gospel singer.

Yes and repenting means you have to start doing what is right.
Meaning they will need to go to the authorities and talk. Even if it gets them thrown in prison or Arkancided.
