The negative vibration, overly emotional shit is their playing field. Try to mentally and spiritually tune yourself up before and after engaging. Religion helps. Good positive music. Comfort food. Exercise. Fresh air. See the natural world around you. Think about the trillions of simultaneously occurring chemical and physical interactions going on around you every hour of every day. Ants foraging for food. Bees collecting pollen on wildflowers. Plants photosynthesizing. Dew collecting on every blade of grass before the sun comes up and evaporating into the atmosphere in the warmth of morning.

A little bit of fear can be healthy, as far as risk avoidance and self preservation goes. Constant feelings of dread is not good. It's being heaped onto you deliberately, in order to control you. Just knowing that should help to take some of it off.
I don't know your situation, but some general guidelines for anyone is to try to be as righteous as possible. Cut any bad habits, fill the gaps with good habits. Nobody's perfect (watch out for the ones who think they are). Just try hard to better yourself any way you think you might need to and you should start getting some positive feedback from the universe.
