If they are dealing in child porn, there is no reason to ask them to resign.
Just file the charges and move ahead with it. Also, the author of the book(s), administrators who were involved or knew and didn't say anything, and the teachers involved.

The book had prompts/suggestions for writing assignments.
One of the prompts was “write a sex scene you wouldn’t show your mother”. A follow up was to rewrite the scene into something you would share with your mother.
These were not given as assignments. They just existed in the text book that was assigned.
It is a pretty far stretch to consider this child pornography. And considering that books like “Brave New World” and “Candide” are on their approved list, I hardly think this amounts to much of anything.
