Considering A.O.C. and other educated idiots in Congress... can we just require cognition tests for everyone?
And they have to pass a test on our system of government and cannot vote on a bill until they do pass the test.
They should not be allowed to pass a bill until they have read it from cover to cover.
They should require every member of congress to read it out loud to the whole group before they pass a bill. That would be each bill, read 435 times in the House to 435 people, and 101 times in the Senate to 101 people.
For every bill.
Lets see how many 6000 page laws we get.
Or just pass a law that institutes single issue bills. This way they can't take a funding bill and hide a bunch of laws that screw over the population. Every issue has to stand on its own.
It's a partial solution to one small problem, but keeps in place the entire fraudulent system.
We have trillions of pages of laws.
We started with two pages of laws.
We don't need more laws, we need to completely eliminate the system that exists and start from scratch, using the roots of the old system, but changing the loopholes (in the constitution itself) that allowed what happened to happen.
Specifically, individual sovereignty was implicitly stated in the constitution, and then denied and ultimately destroyed in the amendments, starting with the Bill of Rights (eminent domain, end of the fifth amendment).
If instead individual sovereignty was explicitly stated in those first two pages, the bill of rights would have been understood as redundent, and would have never been necessary at all.
If both the individual citizen (the Person), and the group of individuals that make up the government (We The People) are explicitly stated as equals, none of what has happened can have happened. None of it.
When it comes to sovereign citizens either all citizens are sovereign, no matter the size or nature (job) of the citizen group (which was I believe the original intent was, and was stated implicitly in both the constitution and the DoI), or no citizens are sovereign; they are instead vassals to a sovereign government (which is what we have now).
That is what a monarchy is (where the government is defined as "the crown"). In our case I think what we have is a Corporatacracy, where the government is defined as a corporation (a group of people made into a legal single person) that is sovereign to citizen vassals.
We have a Corporo-kleptocracy - " a group of persons stealing from the citizen vassals."
I agree. It is a temporary solution to huge problem. One that likely cannot be solved using the same process that created it in the first place.
The problem is Americans think the foreign corporate government is their actual government when it isn't. And trying to educate 300+ million of that fact is basically impossible. Most people don't even understand the concept of sovereignty much less that they are in fact a sovereign. I think most people these days don't want to know. They like the security blanket that is government and wouldn't know what to do if they had to actually administer their own affairs and direct government.
Starting over is a non-starter short of a huge war which may or may not be coming anyways. They are well underway in killing off a large segment of the population anyways.
Is the military really going to act on behalf of the people and arrest the interlopers? Take these people to task and restore the American Republic? I don't believe they are. I believe they are working for the "owners" of the corporation and have no intention of actually doing their job. Otherwise they would already be acting and even if they are it is only to restore the corporation and clear out the evil which to me isn't enough. It will just happen again and again.
If what is said in the below article is true then we have been sold out and we are all waiting for something that will never happen.

If it can't be coherently explained in 5 pages or less, it's bullshit. Plain and simple.
I've been reading quite a few laws lately that fall into that range. In each case they are that long because it was designed to obfuscate and overcomplicate and bypass previous laws (without their removal) or overwrite the intent of the Constitution.
I think if it takes more than a paragraph or two, its probably not a good law.
Hell, if its more than a sentence or two, its probably not a good law.
Agreed!
Love this idea!!!
Agreed!
An Occasional Cortex ... bahahahaha!
In this case, we'd also need I.Q. tests.
how about we just institute term limits?
Exactly.
All these “cognitive questions” would go away if we had term limits
But until then? Do this!
Term limits are a double edged sword with the size of the bureaucratic state. It prevents the corrupt career politicians from holding onto power, but I fear it would just transfer that power to the unelected bureaucrats (the deep state, unelected and therefore unaccountable to We The People)
We need to term limit the bureaucrats as well.
Thinking further on it, my preference is to just do away with the overwhelming majority of them.
😆😆😆
This may be the setup for the 25th amendment usage.
I thought the exact same thing.
Of course r/politics is against this XD
Of course! It would wipe out the US President and a good chunk of our Senators and Congress Critters.
Define "Older". Older than what?
Let's go with "older than a fifth grader." Pretty sure that catches everyone.
By "Older than a fifth grader" I mean biological age, not mental age.
We could actually use that definition both ways:
Everyone who is older than a fifth grader but not smarter than a fifth grader gets the boot.
how sad that you had to define that you were referring to biological age!
TBD. Note that Bill Cassidy is an MD also.
Those of you who are newer to paying attention to politics - Someone leaked the drug list for the drugs that are sent to Congress by a nearby pharmacy (several years ago now?) and there were anti-dementia drugs included. Of course, everyone thought Pelosi at first!

Start with Brandon
That's right Retaining_H2O, they've got to be older than AOC . Sorry about those like Jim Jordan and the rest, but I know they will all pass their cognitive tests. AOC, Omar, Tlaib and Pressley I'm not so sure of. They can leave with the elderly ones.
OK! This makes does make sense, Congress doesn't need to present a Covid jab passport to keep working, instead proof of intelligence is required. >80% will be required to quit!
Unmedicated cognitive tests, please. Off your meds for a week at least before testing. Or having a current script for cognitive drugs automatically disqualifies you from serving.
They can compare their results to Trump’s 😂😂
You only need cognitive ability if you actually have to make decisions.
These people make no decisions. Do we still not understand this?
I agree with checking cognitive abilities as well as familiarity with Constitution.... but as always, it represents a double edged sword...who would DO the checking and how vulnerable would they be to compromise?
They should check their pants for deposits too.
1st grade English. “Write any sentence.” Pelosi fails.
And blood testing and dna testing
I doubt many in Congress, of any age, could pass the simple find-the-cheese-in-a-maze test that most mice can complete. 🐁 🧀
I’ve told this story before. After the inauguration we watched Pompeo’s Senate confirmation vote for CIA director. It took forever for some reason. We literally sat for hours but my husband was geeking out and wanted to see the vote so we stayed.
Hours later we see these doddering old fools come out for the vote, many looking really frail and elderly. We were not supposed to talk at all in the gallery. My husband leans in and whispers, “Do you smell that?” Alcohol!” They were all lit, drinking away while they waited for the vote. So drunk that the smell of alcohol wafted up to to the galleries.
That's a terrifying experience to go through, learning that the people in control are basically unsupervised teenagers. If truckers boycotted alcohol deliveries to DC, those old pickled fossils would quickly mummify.
I definitely agree that they should. However, isn't this guy a total RINO???
If we did an audit of each of top tier govt heads every 2 years that would include all the ages
Trump just released a statement absolutely bashing Bill Cassidy. Distancing himself?
surely this cant be countered with more fraud
Literacy tests for voting turned out so well, why not try this?
Folks here want to test AOC, etc, but don't seem to get that it will be AOC and her friends who write and proctor the test.
FFS, don't let Supreme Court Justices keep their jobs until they're DEAD!!!
Or while they are dead!
