Yes thats a great way to look at it. The worst part about it is that my husband has been cut out of his whole family. Theres no outlier that wants him around. His family is relatively small and they just gutted him out. It makes me so effing angry. He is the sweetest guy and he loves them so much. His heart hurts and it makes me want to encourage additional vaccines 😡 cause how can you seriously cut out your son? This man is not on drugs, begging for money, stealing from the family. Not covid related, but my mom shut me out for several tears and refused to come to my wedding when she could see the church we got married in from her house cause my dad was giving me away. She told me to stay away for years while my siblings ere still growing up (huge age gap and different dad since my mom remarried) because she said I was a bad influence (I was a Christian, never did drugs or committed any crimes) and she wanted nothing to do with my kids or any part of being a grama til my kids were in their teens. We have an ok relationship now but it wasn’t so for many years. My husband’s family totally adopted me though.
Extended family I don't give a shit about, I haven't seen them ever since my mom died.. and they no longer want to see our family because we wanted her cremated and not buried (they're super religious catholics and it was my dad's decision).
It's my actual family that doesn't want to invite me, my brother is a Faucist and hates my guts now because I won't take the stab, and my brainwashed dad is the same way. His own son, that hurts. But I couldnt give a shit anymore, if they don't want to invite me over stupid bullshit, they can have fun, I'm not even going to bother reaching out anymore to them. My parents almost cut me off a couple months ago for something unrelated to COVID - they're on the same page with me regarding that- but I am the first born son and they got mad when I questioned their decision to give the farmland I grew up on to my younger brother. My mom had a panic attack and they told me to not contact them for awhile... but I sent them some conciliatory words and we don't talk about that but I made it clear I'm hurt by it.
That's mostly venting but it's not just about COVID... sometimes you expect loyalty from your family but you don't really know if it's there until it's tested...
That’s very true. Family values as a whole has been depleting over time even before covid. The virus just ramped it up to the max for some ppl I guess. I honestly feel more grateful and appreciative of ppl though since covid so it’s not all bad I guess

My spouse and I are nearly always alone for Thanksgiving because the kids inlaws all "have" them every year, but this year all the adult kids and families are coming here because their inlaws are vaccinnated and none of the kids and grandkids are invited because they are not. And for that I am very thankful.

Enjoy the peace - do what you like, eat what you like and nap as long as you want, next year will be different. My spouse and I are nearly always alone for Thanksgiving because the kids inlaws all "have" them every year, but this year all the adult kids and families are coming here because their inlaws are vaccinnated and none of the kids and grandkids are invited because they are not. And for that I am very thankful.

Thankfully our Thanksgivings were always immediate family, meaning Mom, Dad, me and my siblings. We're all awake and based and will never be vaxxed. Thanksgiving is a great time for us!

Bob Evans is a restaurant chain started in Ohio. Deliciously unhealthy home cooked style food. Since they’ve started selling their mashed potatoes at the grocery, I don’t make them myself anymore. They’re amazing.

No lost, their turkey was dry and flavorless. My turkey is mesquite slow smoked. Each year I get more people wanting to show up than the year before.
Back in the days where we had multiple families get together for Thanksgiving, I'm pretty sure that my parents would have refused to attend if I or one of my brothers had been uninvited.
I’m so blessed to have my peeps on board. Unfortunately I will not get to see my extended family for the holidays because my grandparents choose to remain isolated. I love them and will be here when they chose different. Until then,... I am here with my usual little peeps at Home. And my grandma from Moms side. Bless her hippy ass. Her and I with my family will celebrate. 😂😂😂😂

I am an optimist, maybe foolish. I do believe that by this time next year the vaxxed fearful will have woken up enough to the non danger of the unvaxxed, that they will invite all family next year. Unless they truly live under fear and are deep true believers in the Narrative of the day. Those we have to just bless.
But look at how so many are already starting to wake up now. Once they see the media lies, the government lies, they will start to question things. Most people, even libs are just sick of all of this stuff. Not saying they will apologize or admit they were wrong. But maybe open up to seeing their family again, if we can be nice about it.
