I think his particular version was different, more along the lines of traditional English meter:

I agree, I think the resonance of Baldrick's version more succinctly counterpoints the surreaslism of whatever it was he was trying to say.

Was stationed at Aberdeen Proving Grounds. I LOVED the window-rattling BOOMS and percussion when they were testing the tubes. They test fired -- proved -- every single arty tube before sending it into the field.
