The only thing I have with a company logo is a Louis Vuitton purse that was my Mama's. I don't use it.
If people walk around with a company's logo, the company should be paying them for advertisement.
Our 8 yr. old grandson has 20+ pairs of designer Nike shoes. His other grandparents buy them. He was upset with me because I refused to buy him a pair of $180 Nike shoes. Heck, I'm 63 years old and I doubt that I've had more than 5 pairs of shoes that cost that much money.
The only thing close to that I spend on, shoe wise is my Allen Edmonds. The difference is a nice pair will last me a decade easy. Cannot believe what they charge for those chinese labor camp shoes also known as nikes.
Some do. Most don't. However, some, myself included, look at sneakers as an investment. Plenty of them increase in value over time. It was sneakers that got me out of a jam and helped me procure a bunch of pew pews, rations, silver, and freedom seeds. lol
I know you’re not doing this to the grandkid but I’m just going to drop my few worthless cents of social commentary here.
At 8 years old he gets a pair of $180 shoes…what does he have to look forward to when he grows up? Spending is an addiction. Once you hit one level of tolerance then you’re gonna want more. And so begins a lifetime of rat racing and emptiness… I am a firm believer that esp as children they need to experience some scarcity even if you’re lucky enough to have wealth.
Exactly! He needs to know that his wants are not at the top of the list. I want him to know that things do not equal happiness and instant gratification only lasts a few minutes at best.
I forgot to add that emptiness created in the persons soul from a lifetime addicted to material things is what gets them into drugs (recreational and prescribed anti depressants. Anti anxiety etc). Luckily some find God when they reach rock bottom. Dark night of the soul. Unfortunately not all make it out in one piece.
No. There is merit to this. I speak from experience, especially to your point about tolerance of willingness to spend at particular price points. Once you break a threshold, it only goes up from there.
My collection, at one time, was worth way more than what I put into it, but still doesn't mean I could've gone about it all in a more sensible fashion. lol
Couldn't agree more. I have a few pairs that I use to rotate thru when I was still on the road. A good pair of shoe trees and rotate and they'll last your career. I had some resoled / restored a few years ago. These things are like bedroom slippers! Big fan of Allen Edmonds.
I've only ever bought one pair of shoes that was more than $75; it was a pair of running shoes for about $150. Turned out to be about as good as the ~$60 running shoes I had previously bought.
Ahh, okay. Thanks. Makes them look brilliant, in light of the SC decision on mandates and even England dropping all today. Talk about being late to the party.
I posted my theory on a different thread, and it doesn't surprise me at all.
My assumption is Starbucks was in danger of losing more employees, because less people are willing to take the jab just to keep a low paying job. In addition, those employees would be able to find a replacement job and possibly sue Starbucks and recoup back pay plus damages.
Meanwhile, Carhartt probably has a high vaccine uptake already (90% or higher) and can afford to fire people.
Starbucks is definitely in trouble given how I keep hearing complaining about locations all having reduced hours now due to labor shortage. However will their customers now freak that they might have a filthy unjabbed barrista?
I chatted with Carhartt today. They have a canned message all ready to post on the chat. Then I saw they were based in Michigan. Their employees need to find new jobs. My family closets look like Carhartt stores. No more.
(This is Dickies) 'As of October 18, 2021, this position requires proof of being fully vaccinated for COVID-19 on the first day of employment, absent need for medical or religious accommodation or other exemption as allowed by state or local law. Further information provided during the recruitment process.' (from their 'careers' page on their website)
Looks like their website (Duluth Trading) (including careers page) is silent on vax requirements but they state that masks for employees are required and temperature checks on all employees when they arrive for their shift. They 'follow local municipalities' guidelines, so I guess they are store specific dependent on location and state.
Now pack them up and ship them to them or at the very least, send them your picture.
Great idea!!! Everyone should mail them back
Wipe the dogs butt on them first.
That reminds me of the time the vet told me to get a urine sample from my dog.
It didn't happen - the dog was freaked out and I was embarrassed for trying 😂😂😂
How do we mail these to the CEO?
Idk how to directly get to the CEO
I'm gonna send mine here; if enough get sent in they'll get the point From the web search on "contact Carhart"
CORPORATE ADDRESS
Carhartt, Inc. 5750 Mercury Drive Dearborn, MI 48126
I do that to everything I buy.
I'm not being paid to advertise products.
Exactly why I refuse to wear t-shirts with brands on them.

It amazes me people will spend thousands on sneakers that don't have a single square inch of top grain leather. And they look like clown vomit.
Agree..Speaking of clowns, PT Barnum had a sang for these folks.
Thousands of dollars on junk and then they'll ask "why would I buy silver--it's useless".
The worse are the “pre-worn in” look. Golden goose is unironic

Off soapbox.

Our son is an addict. We all went on a crazy scary roller coaster ride for about a decade. Thank God and with God, he's been sober for 3 years.
I’m sorry you guys had to go through that. And I’m glad God brought him back to you.

I'd have no problem paying 180 dollars for quality, like Allen Edmonds Strands in nearly new condition. Not for plastic & rubber.
Couldn't agree more. I have a few pairs that I use to rotate thru when I was still on the road. A good pair of shoe trees and rotate and they'll last your career. I had some resoled / restored a few years ago. These things are like bedroom slippers! Big fan of Allen Edmonds.
I bought a pair of Strands at the flea market with trees for 10 dollars once. Got one or two hundred dollars out of them online.
Nice! They're are great shoes.

You made me think, today, of my Grandfather. Who died many years ago.
Thank you for that.
I like t-shirts with local businesses on them. No corporations.
What's up with carhartt?
Go woke go broke.
They are doing the jabby stab or get tested bs.
Ahh, okay. Thanks. Makes them look brilliant, in light of the SC decision on mandates and even England dropping all today. Talk about being late to the party.
Yep their internal letter was basically "fuck SCOTUS, jab up or get fired" while forgetting who their main customer demographic is at the same time.
are they becoming the next timberland?
Even dumber? Yesterday Carhartt doubled down while Starbucks cancelled their mandates (something tells me Starbucks is already getting sued.)
I posted my theory on a different thread, and it doesn't surprise me at all.

Yup, divide and conquer. Fake story du joure today is how Trump and Desantis have beef. Obvious ploy to divide
They are shipping free vaccines with every order.
Mandate vax for employees and they re-up like yesterday after the Supreme Court of Child Molesters ruled it unconstitutional
John Roberts: http://americanpatriotcontacttracers.com/did-chief-justice-roberts-just-get-fileted-by-the-epstein-tapes/.
Perfect.
I need to do mine, and put a red MAGA patch in its place.
Thanks for the idea.
“What’s in that box dad?” A string of left ears.
I chatted with Carhartt today. They have a canned message all ready to post on the chat. Then I saw they were based in Michigan. Their employees need to find new jobs. My family closets look like Carhartt stores. No more.
Again, some shit head C-level execs screwed over the workers at that company by virtue signalling and proclaiming their wokeness…
How does it go again? Get woke, go Brandon?
Not any ol C level board member. But the board member of the federal reserve bank of Chicago Linda Hubbard
https://www.chicagofed.org/people/h/hubbard-linda
It would be great to have a list of companies to support. And also a list of companies to avoid.
https://www.cancelthiscompany.com/index.html
I remember back when carhartt made affordable clothes for poor-middleclass people and the working man. Maybe the will have a devolution.
it's all made in china now which is sad because the shit really lasts.
I was in a local farm store today - A Carhart hoodie, $49.99. No thanks.
Love it. What morons- they have no idea who their base is.
They do have an idea but they just have a bigger agenda. Their COO is on the board federal reserve bank of Chicago
https://www.chicagofed.org/people/h/hubbard-linda
I am a working class American too. I will switch to Dickies and Wrangler if they don’t reverse this horse shit.
Caint go wrong with Wrangler. Anybody else bemoaning Osh Kosh b’gosh no longer making bib overalls for grown folks?
Ah shit, all my work pants and jackets are Carhartt...
I L❤️VE IT!! Brilliant!
CarHartt's are OFF
Haha, are you Serbian?
The Croats were paid by the NAZIs for every Serb ear they delivered.
I was told that by a Serb who fought in WWII years ago.
So now there will be a Croatian who will show up to say this never happened and is a lie.
Are you sending them back to the company?
Maybe in a box of salt, LOL. A la Sherlock Holmes "Adventure of the Cardboard Box."
Yes! My motto has always been, “Glitter is the herpes of craft supplies.”
It never goes away.
Bwa ha ha. Like a porch pirate bomb.
Buy whatever badges you want and fabric glue them if you're like me and too lazy to sew. I'm buying American flags to replace the carhartt cut outs.
The COO Linda Hubbard is on the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago Board. That’s probably why. DS

You are an inspiration
Love it. I'll be going through husband's shirts on my days off lol.... awesome
I guess I missed it. Supporting pedojoe?
I don't get it. Did they support the actor playing Biden?
I had no idea!
Good for you. :)
Thsnk you. I tried to find out Dickies policy. No luck.

Did Cabela's cancel theirs? I remember a fren saying they got fired last year over it.
Not revealing it could be a good thing, if they are both not doing and also keeping it private

Yes but weird things happen like I got an order from Bass Pro with a Cabela's item in it.
