I completely agree with what you’re saying about Trump you just didn’t exactly word it that way in your OP so I think that might be why everybody piled on with the Republican comments. 😳😳 Which from one perspective, it’s at least encouraging to know that we are all awake to the ways of the “uni party” and don’t think the Reps are “our side”. However, from the other perspective I can see how it felt like everyone was piling on you, especially when you don’t think the Reps are good either and you were just trying to highlight how and why “it had to be this way”.
Having said all of that, I think a majority of us on here agree that a lot of things couldn’t be done with Trump as president, especially a bunch of high profile arrests. It would have been beyond chaos and deemed illegitimate, a coup, etc. and you’re also right about BLM and antifa losing their minds if Trump had tried to dole out justice. It will be interesting to see what all gets dismantled under Biden. Things are happening so fast now I can barely keep up with all the important posts and everyone’s take on things! 😳

Wrong. Asking how you arrest Democrats when you are viscerally hated by their supporters (half the country) is the hard problem that needed to be solved. I'm an engineer, so I tend to go by the numbers. Let us say, for the sake of argument, that we arrest all of Congress and 100 members of the Executive. That totals up to about 600 people. Out of a population of 330 million, this is 0.00018 percent. I personally think nothing more would happen than a raised eyebrow and a mumbled "good riddance."
As for riots, I fear that the national testosterone level has dropped in the past 30 years. During the Rodney King riots in 1992, Korean shop owners maintained watch on the roofs of their stores armed with AR-15 type rifles, conspicuously visible. Their stores were untouched. I don't think the essential cowardice of the average rioter has changed, just the faith in showing a spine.
