My parents, in their 70s and both hardcore Republicans purchased a Tesla back in 2016. Keep in mind back then the perception was Tesla was for tree hugging Hollywood lefties. My dad wanted it because he’s always been into tech-geek-gizmos and my mom wanted it for its top speed (she’s a lead foot off the line!) and they didn’t want to buy another crappy Mercedes or BMW. Needless to say their commie neighbors were appalled but my parents loved that they were turning everything on it’s head.
Fast forward to today and my parents still love the disruption that they’ve created in their neighborhood and what Musk is doing to commie brains.
