I know what I would do if I ran ICE.

take that provision away

Also, thats how fucked up Commiefornia really is.

How is an illegal supposed to get a jury of their peers?

No, you don't take the provision away.

You use the list of folks who get out of Jury Duty using that provision to GO PICK THEM AND THEIR FAMILIES UP AND DEPORT THEIR ASSES!

Most illegals i know would never in a million years admit that on paper. Especially official paperwork.

I just said this on another thread...

I'm thinking it's false. The jury lists come from ID/driver's license lists, since California gives those to illegals, this would make sense. Now, the bigger question is, do these people get registered to vote also when they get their ill-gotten license.

Exactly! My wife is a legal resident working towards citizenship. I filled out the drivers license paperwork 6 years ago and I made sure it was checked “not legal to vote”, nor has she ever received voter papers when I did. She was still summoned to jury duty, we refused.

Not sure how got your area, but usually you can in a state website look it up.

I haven't lived in California for 20 years... I keep getting jury summons in the mail to my old address. I answer them, I don't live here anymore.... I also get mail in ballots every election. Since I'm not a lying, stinking, cheating, democrat I throw them away. I'm sure they get voted somehow.... Let that sink in.

Yeah Pepe, the whole of California is a cesspool of fuckery and cheating. I take that back, the liberal shit holes of LA, SF, San Diego and Sacramento are a cesspool of fuckery, the rest of the state is based but severely out cheated... I avoid going there. It used to be a good place.

Actually, this is wrong. When my wife had an immigrant visa and was living in the states, she registered for a drivers license. Shortly afterwards, she got a summons in which she had to decline saying she was not a citizen of the united states.

So, the jury summons are based on drivers license registrations and not voter registration

Yeah,I didn't register to vote for a couple of years after turning 18 because I didn't want to do jury duty and I still got a summons. After that I just registered to vote.

I don't know if it's this way everywhere (I'm in GA), but I remember when I renewed my license, on the electronic form there was an already checked box that said something like "if you do not wish to register to vote, uncheck this box" or something to that effect. And it was in very small print. So, when getting a license, the default was to register to vote, and you have to specifically uncheck the box to not register. I remember this clearly because I had to uncheck the box every time I renewed my license (didn't want to register to vote until 2016). Maybe that's how it happens.

▲ 1 ▼
– ApplesOrangesLemons 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

It's slightly different in california. You have to check a box to explicitly register to vote and then the DMV at that time had to check if you were a u.s. citizen. Sadly, they aren't allowed to ask of you are a citizen now.

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– Smeg [S] 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

so they use driver's licences as their voter registration.

What's the difference?

permalink parent save report block reply
▲ 1 ▼
– ApplesOrangesLemons 1 point 3 years ago +1 / -0

the 449,163 declining jury duty may be valid visa holders. You would need to subtract off the number of valid visa holders residing in california from that number (or at least include the number of valid visa holders). The remaining would be illegal immigrants.

And even with that number, that only gives you the number of illegals that can drive but says nothing about the number of them that tried to vote

Different jurisdictions have different rules, I think. Where I live, you have to be registered to vote and then get a speeding ticket. lol

Am Californian. Jury duty summons are done via drivers license registration, not voter registration. I forgot the exact year but California made it so that illegals can get a drivers license.

States must stop allowing voting based on DMV registration. They must demand VOTER registration if 1) you are a citizen and 2) you REGISTER to vote.

My wife is a legal alien and she gets jury duty summons without ever registering to vote. I know they use voter registration, but I think there are other sources too, like maybe state tax returns? Not sure.

DMV registrations.

After researching this a bit, they also get jury summons prospects from the DMV.

So where exactly do jury lists come from? A spokesperson for the San Diego Superior Court told News 8 that their jury pool does come from voter registrations, but they also get jurors from the DMV.

So, we can verify that jury candidates are selected from the voter registration list, but the implied concern from the email - that 449,000 people have illegally voted - cannot be verified because all or some of those names could have come from the DMV where non-citizens can legally get a driver’s license.

They compile the list from multiple sources including voter registration, driver's licenses, and I think a few other sources. CA let's illegals have driver's licenses.

There is enough fuckery going on in CA, let's not focus on something that is easily disprovable.

How does anyone become a US citizen if they were not born overseas and issued a consular record of birth?

The passport says United States of America and lists that as the nationality.

Even an immigrant who takes the oath becomes a citizen of the United States of America (and not citizen of the United States). If "United States" and "United States of America" were identical, they would not have to mention them separately:

8 USC §1449. Certificate of naturalization; contents

A person admitted to citizenship in conformity with the provisions of this subchapter shall be entitled upon such admission to receive from the Attorney General a certificate of naturalization, which shall contain substantially the following information: Number of application for naturalization; number of certificate of naturalization; date of naturalization; name, signature, place of residence, autographed photograph, and personal description of the naturalized person, including age, sex, marital status, and country of former nationality; location of the district office of the Service in which the application was filed and the title, authority, and location of the official or court administering the oath of allegiance; statement that the Attorney General, having found that the applicant had complied in all respects with all of the applicable provisions of the naturalization laws of the United States, and was entitled to be admitted a citizen of the United States of America, thereupon ordered that the applicant be admitted as a citizen of the United States of America; attestation of an immigration officer; and the seal of the Department of Justice.

United States of America belongs to the United Nations, not the United States.

8 USC fails to define United States as the 50 states of the Union. By what operation of law does a birth certificate from a state of the Union prove birth in the United States?

Tax laws apply to U.S. citizens and not to U.S.A. nationals.

The form to give up nationality is entitled OATH/AFFIRMATION OF RENUNCIATION OF NATIONALITY OF UNITED STATES

What do I know, I am not a lawyer or politician!
