Huge Win!!!
It appears that you need to be a US citizen to obtain a driver's license in Missouri as well.
https://dor.mo.gov/driver-license/issuance/real-id/
You can apply for a REAL ID-compliant driver license or nondriver ID card at one of Missouri’s more than 170 license office locations. You will be required to submit the following valid, original documents demonstrating proof of each item at the time you apply:
Identity (one acceptable document to verify full legal name and date of birth); Lawful Status in the United States (one acceptable document to verify United States citizenship or immigration status); Social Security Number (one acceptable document); Missouri Residency (two acceptable documents verifying your Missouri residential address); and Additional items, such as a certified marriage license or court order, may be required to verify a new or prior name change if your name is different from the name on your identity and date of birth verification document. Utilize the Department's interactive guide to ensure you have the documents required to apply for your REAL ID. You may also refer to our complete list of acceptable documents for REAL ID-compliant license and ID card processing.
Avoid this damn thing like the plague.
I won't have the choice to avoid this next year for the DL renewal..........and demanding licenses really is a violation of our right to travel, as is license plates for the cars, and begging for the right to own, carry and use any weapon of our choice.
I agree. The whole privilege thing when it comes to driving is bs
Why?
Virtually everyone already compromised via internet and phones making unofficial databases anyway, all this does is provide (looks like) the 'good guys' a level playing field in the realm of person verification and identification.
Thanks I didn't understand why we needed a "real ID". Surprising that cabal Illinois is late to the party. They keep getting extensions.
We have “real photo ID in Pennsylvania, works great, especially at airports! Nothing wrong with it unless you cannot provide correct paperwork to get one, then, you may be illegal.
We have them in Jersey as well.
However we also give drivers licenses to illegals so I have no idea how that works.
Unfortunately, it's not required for voting.
Nor in Illinois, I went to the primaries and there was a sign right on the check-in desk saying that ID is not required in Illinois.
Interestingly I could just barely see the screen the guy was looking at and when he was looking over the little form I had to fill out with my name, address, and what ballot I wanted and sign it I briefly saw an image of my signature from some other file (maybe driver's license) come up on the screen which he was apparently comparing with my signature on the form I had just handed him.
Same. I didn't have to do anything I wouldn't have done to get a DL to get it either
Had to make one change, the names have to exactly match on two documents, so we had a document that had just the middle initial, and another that had the complete middle name. Anyway it was easy to fix with a trip to the social security office.
LMAO 🤣🤣🤣
I'd just like to point out, that a person with an I-551 Permanent Resident Card (green card) qualifies for normal 'real id' compliant driver license under this program. There is no easy way to know - based on the license alone - whether someone is a US Citizen or not. There ARE disincentives to keep them from voting: fines, prison, and threat of rescinded status or deportation. Does that stop them? Who knows. Also, most US nationals (from American Samoa for example) are not US citizens and cannot legally vote, but that doesn't stop them either.
VOTER ID is a step in the right direction though.
Good to know, thank you for the explanation.
This has NOTHING to do with recent SCOTUS decision allowing NC Republicans to help defend voter ID from the marauding Dems. It in no way instantiates Voter ID not law.
THIS s fake news
Which SCOTUS case is she talking about? I must’ve missed that.
I'm not sure either, and I was watching them.
Devil's advocate here - If we don't like national registry, how do we keep people from voting in multiple states or how do we clean up voting rolls if states are completely segregated?
Mules don't like ropes around their necks.
Was just going to say this. GA has had voter ID laws since forever, but look at the election results. Look at the primaries. It’s NOT adding up.
Depends on the beer... ...and the country you're voting in!
Kek
I hope we get this in Pennsylvania, soon. About eight years ago, our legislature made ID a requrement for voting, but a leftist judge (what a surprise?) struck it down because somehow it was "racist."
they are also hearing a big election case in october....could get even better frens
That already exists in ND, we even put our own ballots in the vote counting machines under a poll watcher's supverision but I'm so happy for Missouri.
Now they'll get fake photo ids
They already have been...
2019: https://www.usatoday.com/story/news/nation/2019/11/27/customs-agents-seize-thousands-fake-ids-counterfeit-items/4324778002/
2020: https://townhall.com/tipsheet/bethbaumann/2020/03/28/border-patrol-intercepts-thousands-of-fake-ids-n2565904
Shrug. They still stole Wisconsin twice.
Not in Assachusetts..... We have a long way to go here but this decision at least lays more foundation.
Wasn't this a state Supreme Court decision? I could be wrong...thought I saw it on the gateway pundit the day before
Best thing I heard all day! Winning!
Praise God, it's nice to see some wins.
Too bad voter ID is rAcIsT! /s
We have hate photo I’d in Mississippi for a long time. Y’all need to catch up
Great news, we need voter ID everywhere.
Photo ID is a good start but Georgia has had it for years now and you can see that didn’t stop the cheating here…
It's because they didn't require it for "mail-ins."
Interesting...I've lived here my whole life, and they've always required voter ID. Although when I was a teenager, so like 20 years ago fuck I'm old, they would accept the voter registration card, which does not have a photo on it.
Proud to be a citizen of the “Show Me State”!!! I will be referring to it as the “Show Me Your Photo ID if you want to vote State!”
Gov. parsons also signed a “No Patient Left Behind” act this week as well, as DeSantis did, where all Missourians have a right to a family member AND another health advocate while in the hospital even during a PLANdemic!!!
Fake ID racket is about to explode.
...unless they do it like the military, which presents a new set of problems.
I mean this is a huge step, don't get me wrong. Aint dooming here, just stating the reality many don't see.
Chances are good they'll catch more trying to do illegal voting than not and wipes out ballot harvesting/ mail-ins.
They were prepared for this with doing trueID rollout
TrueID...so it is pretty much like the military. Hey thanks for the additional info on that!
Guess there was something -I- didn't see. The irony, lol.
https://www.dhs.gov/real-id
Sorry “realID” some other countries calling it “TrueID”
Does this address the mail in issue as well?
They still need to check every avenue for fraud. Photo ID is supposed to be required in GA, and we see what happened in GA in 2020.
Florida is part of the movement. Praise the Lord.
For true voter security, one should submit a DNA sample. "What happens in a voting booth stays in the voting booth. Why is there KY on your hands?"
Erm… That wasn’t a requirement before?
