UK is the only place in Europe where people speak English natively, and you can clearly see the difference between their English and American English. Anywhere else in Europe, if someone speaks English it's fake and gay. Each and every country has their own language, in the Netherlands they speak Dutch.
French and German are popular choices for second languages too, beside English.

Whenever there is a protest abroad and the signs are in English I always assume it’s an organised PR event to show the international audience.
