registered gun owners literally have the lowest crime rate
registered gun owners <- a what now? registered? did you mean lawful gun owners?
licensed, i guess? but if they didnt keep a registry then how did it get leaked in california
Free states dont have that commie shit
yeah licenses are only for certain weapons like fully automatic machine guns and sawed-off shotguns so far as i know. some states still require a license to CONCEAL carry. I take your meaning but words matter, and making people think they need a special license or have to become registered to own a firearm just make them reluctant to do so. I dunno how they do it in Commiefornia, licensed firearms retailers have to keep the criminal background paperwork on people who purchase from them for a few months, could be that information which leaked.
not my intention hopefully no one took it that way, I was just referencing a specific study that I cant find anymore and it was based on some license or registration, maybe it was done in canada idk
And this is why I prefer Smith and Wesson for self defense/EDC over Glocks or any other manufacturer. Not only are they based, but you also don't have to spend another $500 upgrading everything that should have been fixed from the factory years ago.
Plus you know, Made in 'Murica instead of imported through Georgia.
Sig Sauer right up there with them
Eh, I like Sig, I do (Especially the MPX and MXC series), but they're still German in origin. Nothing quite like being Made in America. Not anything against them, they're freaking good guns (though I usually refrain from being the first to buy their new models since they ALWAYS have a few kinks in new stuff), but I tend to stick to Smith and Wesson and Ruger for most of my modern firearms (non lever action, non break action, etc.).
Sure, there's better options, but for the price point, its REALLY hard to beat them, and their customer service/warranty's are freaking amazing when compared to anyone else in the industry at that price point and product level.
Valid points. Not a fan of sigs price points especially on their new stuff or anything other than pistols, really. Hope to one day own an MPX, that thing is nothing but sexy.
That M&P M2.0 Performance Center is smooth as butter. Throw on an Apex Trigger & Trijicon SRO and wheewwieeee....
Talk about smooth, I checked out a friend of a friends Staccato P today. That slide is awesome, could work it with my pinky and thumb. Crisp, nice trigger. Out of my price range for a handgun though.
Amen to THIS!π u/cathole953
Part of why they're leaving Springfield MA. Springfield became lawless. S&W is moving to TN.
Yeah, except he needs to understand the constitution a bit better. The second amendment is a protection not a right. The right is natural, endowed by our creator.
I for sure "dinnae" claim to even know more than a taj of The US Constitution , so forgive me ... But isn't the 2A part of "The Bill Of 'RIGHTS'"?
So you're suggesting we get our rights from the constitution/government? No, we don't. And you should surely hope we don't because if we did do you know what that would mean? It would mean the government could take them away. The constitution sets forth a set of protections of our natural rights.
Check out the amendments. Look at the first amendment? Do you actually think it gives us the right to free speech? Look at it closely. What does it say? Do the same for the second amendment. You should notice they are protections against the government infringing on those rights.
The Constitution is a written document that outlined the formation of our Union of States and created a "federation". The Problem with the document was the federal government part. The wrangling over the details took over ten years before they created a system with balance between the Federal and States duties and responsibilities. At the end, there were a few States that still were concerned about the Federal government and insisted that an addition to the document that would delineate restrictions on the Federal government. This became a Bill of Rights. The important distinction that most people don't seem to get is that this Bill did not "grant" any Rights, it simply states that the Federal government is forbidden or restricted from infringing on these Rights, as these Rights are God given and inalienable from the people. The Bill of Rights is a clear and concise limitation on the power of the government, not a magical document that grants Rights to its citizens. "These Rights SHALL NOT be infringed"
Beat me to it. Yeh, he's wrong and should take his own advice to know the Constitution better.
I think not.
That's the problem though: you aren't (thinking).
Yes it is a natural right, but those natural rights were transferred to the Constitution for those who do not take natural rights seriously...like politicians. Founding Father's knew this, which is why the first TEN Amendments are colloquially known as "The Bill of Rights".
For someone who thinks they know the Constitution, your knowledge is lacking.
I assume you can read, correct? Just read the amendments. Tell me which ones actually gives us a right?
At this point I have to presume you're just trolling. The first 10 are literally rights written in as the Bill of Rights.
If understanding that is beyond your ability, I have nothing else to add or prove. Pointless.
I guess the answer to my question whether you know how to read is "no".
Makes me happy to see this, especially since they do make genuinely good, high-quality firearms. They have and continue to make wonderful revolvers. I have a number of their weapons but whenever I take a new shooter to the range, by the end of the day their favorite gun is always my 50 year old Model 10 in .38 special.
Incredibly accurate, smooth double action trigger. Not my first choice in a defensive situation by any means, but a wonderful shooting revolver.
"They have and continue to make wonderful revolvers."
No argument there. But they also make wonderful semi pistols. I don't hesitate to recomend the M&P 9 to anyone.
Funny you mention that, I didn't mention their polymer guns because I've never been crazy about the triggers on their M&P polymer pistols. They're excellent pistols (reliable, accurate, etc) but they've never quite been right for me.
Now that being said, they make an excellent 1911. I've had a scandium frame 1911 from S&W for many years and it's wonderfully light and an excellent shooter. I probably should try some of their polymer framed guns again as I've heard that they have improved the triggers.
I too like what they said and love their pistols... but I wish more companies like S&W would put their money where their mouths are and stop selling any products to any government agency. Too many rich people are still hungup on the almighty dollar and aren't willing to go all in.
Cloud Defensive at least has started the first step in the right direction as they have refused orders from the ATF and continue to refuse to sell anything to them.
Probably one of the few companies that will never go "woke". Thank God.
"treat criminals as victims and victims as criminals"
This is a deliberate social engineering strategy that has been called "anarcho-tyranny". The goals are probably the usual - social chaos, fear, anxiety, demoralization.
street crime itself is a good enough reason to conceal carry but the way our gvmnt is amping up tyranny is the real reason inwhich the second amendment was written
Dirty Harry: "Well, we can't just let you walk out of here..."
Robber: "Who's WE, sucker?"
Dirty Harry (setting down coffee, reaching into his jacket): "Smith, Wesson, and me..."
A thousand likes for that comment. Now, did he fire five shots, or six?
Based
"You think we're just gunna let you walk out of here?"
[laughs] "Say what?"
"Yeah me, and Smith, and Wesson"

I have an M&P 2.0 compact with an apex trigger upgrade. Shoots amazing π
Welp, looks like I'll be buying a few S&W firearms. I always wanted an M&P Shield/ Shield 2.0.
I bought an SDV40E a few years ago. Sweet piece. 15-round clip, fits big hands nicely, not too much of a kick but respectable. Some have complained about it not having a safety, but I spoke to our local deputy and he put it uniquely - gun safety is in your head, and if you know how to use your gun you wouldn't need a safety. Interesting take. Anyway, I recommend it.
I am a Smith (big deal, right?) and this is why I own a Smith & Wesson! Good Job!!!
Nice! I like it!!
Their S&W Extraction & Evasion tomahawk looks nice too.
