Now how is that acceptable? I think a rational solution is to slash interest rates and make them APR instead of daily compounding, and hold these colleges accountable for their prices. I was paying $580/credit hour at a public university. Almost $2500/class. Not possible out of pocket unless you want to take 15 years to get a degree.

We biked to multiple parks desperately trying to find aluminum. I feel so privileged when watching the latest MESAGE movie telling me about the privilege of my skin color.
Same Here! Grew up dirt poor in Texas. My family didn't have a garden, when we would be hungry we would eat grass, dirt, or swallow air. I used to walk the streets with no shoes untill I found 35 cents to get a loaf of bread to make "wish sandwiches" where you make a sandwich and add some condiments you took from a fast food restaurant and ate it wishing you had meat. Eventually There was a store that would throw away their food at a certain date and we learned to go at that time and get the expired food to feast on. I spent 4 hours a day riding a metro to get to college on borrowed money. I worked after and before school and had to beg my Druggy dad to give me the 5 dollars I was short each month for school. I moved away from them, to where my girlfriend (now wife) lived and she was the biggest help. Got a 200$ a month apt in 2008 in some Russian lady's attic and went to college there. I graduated #1 in my college. I am a machine learning data developer. I paid my college in full.
I am in favor of universities being required to refund, in full, any student who does not (this isn't a "can" issue IMO) obtain gainful employment OR lose all future government grants & funding.
Personally I think it would be best to allow students to declare bankruptcy on these debts, then the banks would correct the issue immediately if they survived.
And as the cocksuckers announce another couple billion headed to the blackhole that is Ukraine, it is time to cut this illegal, corrupt government off from funding. Our forefathers started a revolution over taxation without representation. May the People today wake up and do the same.
