Why should people who were misled, brainwashed and both intellectually and emotionally crippled by one of the most sinister elements of the cabal, academia, give them a cent?
Some of you, my fellow conservatives and anon, think too much about yourselves when you say "no fair, I paid mine off" or "live like you're dirt poor and you can pay them off"
I say no one pays them off, we gut academia and reform and recreate our educational system, and right the wrongs the universities have done to our country and world.
Why should I pay for your choices? Should I pay for your car bc you don't like it now? Maybe I should pay for your house too bc it's really not the house of your dreams ? Hey, I'm ALLLLL for the institutions being held accountable and they should completely have to pay every cent of this. It's currently just a circle tho â you make them pay, they'll just raise their tuition by another 25%.
But me, the taxpayer? Why? I worked and paid my way through. I never even remotely considered getting into debt for college. If I couldn't pay for it, I just wouldn't go. Heck, trade schools would benefit more people oftentimes than university would. And for a lot less money.

Weâre talking massive systematic aftershocks with value of dollar, real interest rates, etc. These student loans were financed by OUR TAX DOLLARS & are intimately tied to our economy with the idea educating the masses would only create more wealth; except the whole commie takeover of academia starting in the early 1950s.
No. They were financed out of thin air like everything else the US Government does. Tax dollars haven't directly funded anything in many moons but merely provide the cover to keep creating debt.
Cancelling the debt is deflationary as is killing off people with the clotshot also has a deflationary effect. This is but another stopgap to slow the impending runway inflation that is overdue.
You realize that a massive part of college being expensive is that the Govt got involved with them in the first place, don't you? Along with all the other red tape that the Govt forced upon colleges is a HUGE reason why they are fucked up.

They created idols out of the kardashians, real housewives, teen and 20-something influencers, and all the manufactured #livingmybestlife posts on instagram. The concept of sacrifice and living within their means is worse than a death sentence for them.

Rent has skyrocketed. Not only is it going up all across the country but youâre often required to earn at least double, often triple the cost of your rent as well as drop a fat stack for first month, last month, security deposit, and pet deposit. Home ownership is a pipe dream for these people so they canât even invest wisely.
Utilities have skyrocketed. Gas has skyrocketed. Groceries have skyrocketed.
These people are no longer living within their means by design. But to act like itâs their fault is both stupid and insensitive.
I canât imagine why these people are still asleep when people like the ones in this thread are the ones trying to awaken them.
And before anyone says it, I do not have student loans and Iâm also salty about them getting debt forgiveness. But I also have compassion for people that were brainwashed since childhood and are just trying their best.
Sorry but if youâre chin deep in debt, trust me that there are TONS more options than $30 avocado toast brunch items, new $1300 iPhone upgrades every year or so, a daily Starbucks quad-shot latte or no foam frappuccino, and $40/per class workout at SoulCycle or Barryâs.
These people are NOT trying their best, and theyâre not living on the bare minimum, as you suggest. Theyâre doing it for the âgram

No nonsense courses as he already has a lot of AP courses knocked out of the way; these are ALL program specific classes and was a route we all discussed that he could take as a means to see if he later wanted to pursue this as a degree program. And if that does in fact end up being the way he will go, this certification will allow him to make decent pay working to cover the cost of a degree program (which the school of his choice has top notch education in this field at very affordable rates)

Everyone that has insurance should be able to afford a chiro. But the insurance companies are crooks, right up there with drug companies. But that's a subject for another day.

The biggest myth in all of this is that American taxpayers will have to foot the bill. There si no debt being repaid once the money masters have been sent away. It's their losses. Uncollectable debt.

I know... I was the guy doing the hiring. If you're so stupid to go into debt while partying your way through college you usually make a lousy employee.
So the government is going to pay off these government secured loans. When this happens, the IRS steps in and says "Oh, you just had a lump sum increase in earnings. So now rather than paying off your loan over time, you are going to get hit with a lump sum balloon payment that is due NOW! Say $25,000 loan paid off and at 25% income tax bracket, that means somewhere near $6,250 hit. Good luck with that!!!!!l OH, and the money doesn't go to the banks, it goes to the Govt. So, they get 25 to 30% return on the payout.

There are approximately 13 states that have indicated that they will tax it as income: most notable is Hawaii at 10%. Notes I have seen say that in general, the IRS does tax this sort of measure unless specifically told not to. Those are incredibly important to the world in their own way and we should work towards a society in which that set of people can pursue their God given talents and form of intelligence without being in debt just the same as an engineer who will be swimming in money

It also depends on what you do with and for yourself. I never took a single college class. I did take a bunch of CLEP and DANTES tests while in the military, and I intended on being a doctor (ever since I was a very young child). I learned a great skill in the military (cybersecurity) and decided I didn't need to get a woke paper on my wall and put myself through 4-8 years of idiocy. Despite what people think, if you want to learn and can do the heavy lifting on your own you can do just fine without a degree. I make enough that I have never been able to claim any of the government handouts or tax breaks.
Seniors aren't marketable because for at least 20 years now they have basically been taught crib notes, with the lefties leaving all the important historical stuff out. They also teach to the lowest ability in the class so everyone is held back so Johnny or Karen doesn't feel bad. They can tell you all about Kwanzaa, LGBTX, and climate change but have no idea about Iran Contra, Grenada, Noriega, or even the Pentagon Papers. They can't name the 3 branches of the US govt, have no idea how many senators we have, and probably can't name or recognize ANY of the last 5 VPs. Most can't even read or write cursive - if they can even read at all.
The really sad part is it doesn't matter if kids fail anymore. Leftist teachers just keep promoting them up and out of the system with a diploma that isn't worth crap. The worst part is these teachers don't see the long-term problem with this. They want to just get these kids out of their hair (and not have to deal with parents) so they are someone else's problem. Guess what - they are everyone's problem once they graduate with no skills, no critical thinking, and no prospects or desire for a job. More and more of these kids will end up being paid for by the taxpayers... for life.
If people on the left could wake up enough to hear this one point we might be able to fix this.

My Mom did when I was 7. At least she taught me to sign my name. I don't remember how much longer it took me to get the rest of the alphabet but I know it was sometime during elementary school.

The question people need to be making is what is the return they should expect from going to college and if people who went to college can't pay back their debt then maybe college is not a good career choice for many people. Sure they might make 30k more a year but they need to balance that against the 200k in debt and interest they need to pay and four years of little earnings to get a degree. Whereas if they did a trade then they can start earning money faster right away and they won't have crippling debt and with the labor shortage for trade skills they can easily earn as much as a college graduate now.
I concur. College was straight up the second round of high school, at least for the first two years. Such a waste of money and time!
