My suggestion as an ex pill addict - talk to you doctor and get input but depending on how long you have been taking it, you may be doing more damage cold turkey. Weaning off would probably work better with less side effects.
Fuck these doctors to hell and back with a gangrenous elk penis.
Apart from supplying the script, doctors have absolutely no use whatsoever, do some reading but unless it is a string of expletives, don't bother talking to a doctor about anything.
The weaning off is obvious good advice, however, a coin toss to make a decision is probably more statistically sound than asking a fucking doctor.
This is not an attack on your statement or you in any way, it is an attack on the entire, shit-for-brains medical establishment.
Read and determine your own course of action and in this case it is don't run out of your antidepressant and always wean yourself off this shit.
I laid curled in a ball for two months going cold turkey - if you can get edibles - I agree with poster above - will help and counteract the nausea - otherwise I just literally went day to day - told myself - I will make it thru today and decide again tomorrow lol.
I would check with @ssg_q, @inevitableET and @FloridaSharkman on TS. They are helping people with natural solutions for medical needs constantly.
Edit: they have taken all of FloridaSharkman's research study findings and made a website, it all directs back to TS, because it gets censored anywhere else. http://floridasharkman.org
No you cant do that go back on them immediately. You can die going off those meds instantly. You have to wean yourself off them. So start taking them again and go off them slowly. If you take one pill a day start by taking one pill today half a pill tomorrow one pill half a pill for about a week or so.Then go to half the entire week for a couple of weeks. Then go to half a pill but a quarter every 3 days or so do that for a couple of weeks. Then down to a quarter for a couple of weeks. Then skip every 3 days or so for a couple of weeks then add another skipped day for a couple of weeks until you are down to nothing.
It is very very very dangerous to just stop taking those meds.
I don’t have any more meds I’m gonna have to talk to my doctor to get more and I want to stop them because I hate big pharma’s garbage so now you’re telling me from quitting their garbage, I will die?
I'm not a doctor or a nurse BUT, I had to wean myself off of something similar and I think if you wean rather than go cold turkey, it would be much better. CBD helps me in general as an anti anxiety so hopefully that will help you too. But, definitely wean slowly if you can. Good luck!
Lexapro was a weird one to get off of. But I had to in order to feel anything. Getting off of it threw me into wild mood swings. The best thing you can do is drink lots of water, coffee, tea, diuretics, etc and get plenty of sleep. The more you pee, the faster it'll flush out of your system. The more you sleep, the less you have to deal with the nonsense.
If you ran out but can’t contact your doctor due to the holiday maybe try the ER. And I agree with everyone about not going cold Turkey. Trust me it takes a while to Ween off but can be done.
Yes, fren...cold turkey is not the way, not for drugs like that. you need to taper off, and slowly. You'll still reach your goal, rest assured! Can't you get one more refill for your tapering off process?
Lots of practical advice in the comments, so I don't have much additional to add
Aside from the pharmacological problems, here are some additional items.
(1) Have a doctor determine if you have hypoglycemia or hypoglycemic tendencies. This is the flip side of diabetes, and is a tendency to low blood sugar or to rapid reductions in blood sugar (overproduction of insulin). The brain cells can wind up starving and the mood swings can be intense, going far into depression and darkness and nausea. About a third of hypoglycemia cases are initially misdiagnosed as mental problems, when they are only a blood chemistry aberration. There is a phenomenal repertoire of symptoms.
(2) On the psychological side, it is absolutely essential to keep your attention OUT. Do not become isolated or inward. Take walks outdoors. Watch a good TV program (rare) or motion picture (rare...but the oldies are goodies). Try to notice Beauty anywhere in the world. Be on the lookout. The existence of beauty is real---and a refutation of any grim spirit that is haunting you. The more you look for it, the more you will find. (My favorite is clouds.) The more you find, the more you will realize that this IS the way of the world, and the grimness is just another one of Satan's lies.
(3) If you have friends or loved ones, try to be with them and learn their trials and sufferings. Sometimes, it is better to replace self-pity and agony with pity and empathy for others. Consider your blessings---that you are not crippled, blind, deaf, or maimed. Look up the Journal of Reconstructive Surgery to read case studies of people being corrected from dreadful conditions. Truly, there are worse things to endure, and---though it may be trite to say so---it is in pity that we begin to appreciate our blessings.
(4) Make friends with animals: Dogs. Cats. Squirrels. Horses. Goats. Any mammal. Seek any level of communication or reciprocal response. (I'm not against birds, reptiles, fish, or insects, but they have very limited responses to human overtures.) The more you give, the more you will receive.
(5) Make plans and carry them out. Nothing is worse, spiritually, than to have a life made of nothing. Determine that there is something more important in life than being miserable. It doesn't mean the misery goes away, but it does make the misery less important. (This is where reading Russian novels comes in handy. I was going through a spell of depression and was lifted out of it by reading Solzhenitsyn's "Cancer Ward." An odd pick, but he had a way of showing how people facing death found more in life than the usual person.)
Okay, that's it. I hope it adds to your resources.
You mentioned natural remedies. I was wondering if your nutrition has some gaping holes that the meds were covering up. The body needs a wide range of nutrients and minerals to function properly. I feel best when I'm taking a high quality liquid multivitamin daily, and I'm also careful to get separately enough minerals with the most important being potassium and magnesium. I get my potassium by drinking low sodium V8, in addition to several bananas a day. Magnesium you can get from a good supplement capsule. Once you're covering those important bases, look into GABA, which quiets the mind. Antidepressants mimic GABA but also block its natural absorption, which can explain your tortured brain.
Try lithium orotate. It’s cheap, so far still available otc and is a trace element that is usually produced in our gut. Start a low dose 5 mg or so. It has a calming effect similar to benzodiazepines but without the negative side effects. It helps with the brain zaps almost 100%. I agree with the others, you’re going through withdrawals and it can be pure hell. Took me a year to wean off demon Lexapro and that was over 10 years ago. They design these drugs to dull us. You will get free of it and it will all be worth it. I’m praying for you
It is not permanent. I stopped cold turkey in 2018 and it took a couple of months for the side effects to stop. I have never felt better.
Learn to meditate and quiet your mind. This worked wonders for me. Also every time you notice a negative thought STOP! Force yourself to look at the situation from a positive perspective and over time this will become a habit and the negativity will stop and you will start to have better and better days.
Waking up was one of the hardest things I have ever gone through but also the most rewarding. Better days ahead. Keep moving forward.
From personal experience: walk. Walk really lot. Better in full sun, better the pilgrim style whole day with camelback. Yes, it feels almost impossible at first, you might need a friend who... walks you out like a dog, but it works pretty fast.
Hi KittyQ, I suggest you research micro dosing with psilocybin ( magic mushroom ) or if there are benzodiazepines involved I would check out Amanita Dreamer for info on Amanita Muscaria (🍄) The pharmaceutical industry don’t want to know about mushrooms because they are very effective and they cannot profit from these natural fungi. I would like to add that micro dosing has helped lots of people. I pray you find success with this treatment like so many others have too. ( cannabis edibles would probably be best to help with sleeping too )
Get away from the 'head' doctors that charge $300 and hour and find a local MD. that will give you plain old POT. There has never been a 'depressed' MJ. smoker, in moderation of course.
RedPill78 talked about his fight with depression and how he got of his medications. I thought it had a lot of good data in it with I listened to it couple months ago. Start it at the 4 minute mark.
It took me 2 months of pure agony until I was free from them and I was taking one pill a week. Prozac. Best thing I ever did was getting off of it. Stay strong, this too shall pass.
I got myself off of antidepressants at 24 after eight years and seven different types. Effexor was the one I got off of ultimately. I was on lexapro at one point. I’m here to tell you it’s definitely possible to get off of them but you HAVE to wean yourself. Get one more course and you can do this! I started by taking half doses, then every few days would cut that dose in half. Then I’d take a quarter dose, then every two days, and I didn’t have withdrawal symptoms at all.
Perhaps a controlled withdrawal? A milligram scale can be purchased online for $30, amazon, ebay. You can crush the pill and weight a portion to gradually decrease over some time. If you mix the crushed pill with flour or sugar, you could dilute the pill to make small mistakes in weight less important. Weight the total and, for instance, multiply by .9 and get the weight that delivers 90% dosage. Decrease over time.
herbal supplement imported mostly from Indonesia. Illegal in a few states because its a huge threat to Big Pharma. So, you might find some bad press about it if you search. But it can act as a mild painkiller, mood enhancer, energy source, etc. Lots of different strands you can try.
Thc helps. It will calm you down a bit so you can at least rest. You need to rest and be easy on yourself until the zaps go away. Those are basically auras and can cause a seizure. That’s why you wean meds instead of cold Turkey.
This is why people are addicts. You didn't like it when you were on it, but you kept taking it until your metabolism was dependent on it, so naturally when you quit taking it you got sick. Like if you suddenly decided to quit drinking water, how sick would you be? So you think the lesser of two evils is to go back. ATM that may be true, to straighten out the sudden derangement, but soon you will be right back where you started, dissatisfied with the effect, not planning ahead on how to wean off, not addressing the basic issue that made you think you needed to dull your mind, you run out, now you really know what crap feels like, you appeal to strangers for a quick fix, but all their suggestions are impossible... don't let this be the way you end your life. Go to the ER, their advice may still be crap but they will at least be in a position to see just how precarious your immediate health is. Then start figuring a permanent way out and plan ahead. Will require work and pain. You can accept that or keep spinning until you die. I will pray for you, that you can pull out of this.
Try an amino acid called GABA, wonderful for balancing mood/smoothing the edges. Completely natural and safe and if dosed properly (250mg to begin) is a wonderful supplement to aid any rough landing you might be dealing with.
I deleted my post because I just feel stupid. I had a mental breakdown so I’m gonna just take my meds. I need them to function…. Otherwise I’ll just drive everyone away with my unstable emotions. It’ll be okay. I’ll deal with it. Thank you everyone who tried to help. But I proved to myself that I just need to stay on them or I’ll just be unstable forever. May try natural remedies first but I think I just need to stay on my meds for my own good until I can figure out a plan/be able to function without them.
Did you wean yourself off or quit cold turkey? Sounds like cold turkey and you need to wean off.
Cold turkey, I had no choice as I was out
My suggestion as an ex pill addict - talk to you doctor and get input but depending on how long you have been taking it, you may be doing more damage cold turkey. Weaning off would probably work better with less side effects.
Talk to your doctor is no longer valid advice.
Fuck these doctors to hell and back with a gangrenous elk penis.
Apart from supplying the script, doctors have absolutely no use whatsoever, do some reading but unless it is a string of expletives, don't bother talking to a doctor about anything.

can I order said gangrenous elk penis off amazon?
Click and collect only.
Hot tip :- Pick up a croquet mallet while you are there.

I agree with this. Get yourself to an emergency room. Call 911 if there is no one to drive you. The brain zaps are real and so is all the rest.
Get to a doctor NOW and let them get you back on the meds so you can wean gradually. You are risking your life and permanent health if you don't.
I don’t have any more meds I’m gonna have to talk to my doctor to get more and I want to stop them because I hate big pharma’s garbage so now you’re telling me from quitting their garbage, I will die?
Yes, it can be very bad going cold turkey.
agreed, look up what happened to Jordan Peterson.
People have died stopping Alcohol and Valium cold turkey. You just be weaned off. Let the doctor wean you off. Just turn down the Covid jab.
I'm not a doctor or a nurse BUT, I had to wean myself off of something similar and I think if you wean rather than go cold turkey, it would be much better. CBD helps me in general as an anti anxiety so hopefully that will help you too. But, definitely wean slowly if you can. Good luck!
I had to quit cold turkey I was completely out
Wow, that’s really stupid. I tapered to zero over 3 months. No problems.

Hi Kitty. Got my daughter off. If you are in a 420 friendly state, microdose thc edibles. Got her off meds and now she is very stabilized.
I’m smoking delta8 and THCO but the brain zaps are just completely ruining my buzz

I smoke delta8 I used to smoke
I don’t have a lot of expertise with what you’re describing but I would offer prayer as the best thing I’ve found for anxiety and depression.
Also, CBD or legal edibles (if they’re available I’m your area), are certainly worth a shot, IMO.
I’ve never been a big fan of cannabis, but I’d certainly try if if I were desperate. At least it’s natural (or natural’ish).
It is not permanent. I stopped cold turkey in 2018 and it took a couple of months for the side effects to stop. I have never felt better.

It's going to sound juvenile. But try smoking some weed.
I had to quit… can’t afford it and not legal where I live. I have been trying alternatives like D8.
I hope it works out. Chemicals suck. Keep is posted as to how ot goes fren.
Anti-fungus Protocol that's been kicking around 4chan's /x/ boards last couple months. I can attest to the results.

Depression is one of many emerging symptoms of this root cause. Alzheimers. ALS. Cancers. IBS.

Have you considered kratom?
What is that?

Maybe try Dramamine for the nausea
I might actually go pop one I feel like I’m gonna hurl tbh
Good for help sleeping too. Also melatonin is apparently an important and healthy substance that the pineal gland is supposed to produce.
Thc helps. It will calm you down a bit so you can at least rest. You need to rest and be easy on yourself until the zaps go away. Those are basically auras and can cause a seizure. That’s why you wean meds instead of cold Turkey.
One is to slowly taper off antidepressants not go cold turkey
Thank you everybody who responded. I am feeling completely miserable I might just go back to SSRIs because I can’t stand not being on it
