Thought for Today
The donkey told the tiger, "The grass is blue." The tiger replied, "No, the grass is green ."
The discussion became heated, and the two decided to submit the issue to arbitration, so they approached the lion.
As they approached the lion on his throne, the donkey started screaming: ′′Your Highness, isn't it true that the grass is blue?"
The lion replied: "If you believe it is true, the grass is blue."
The donkey rushed forward and continued: ′′The tiger disagrees with me, contradicts me and annoys me. Please punish him."
The king then declared: ′′The tiger will be punished with 3 days of silence."
The donkey jumped with joy and went on his way, content and repeating ′′The grass is blue, the grass is blue..."
The tiger asked the lion, "Your Majesty, why have you punished me, after all, the grass is green?"
The lion replied, ′′You've known and seen the grass is green."
The tiger asked, ′′So why do you punish me?" The lion replied, "That has nothing to do with the question of whether the grass is blue or green. The punishment is because it is degrading for a brave, intelligent creature like you to waste time arguing with an ass, and on top of that, you came and bothered me with that question just to validate something you already knew was true!"
The biggest waste of time is arguing with the fool and fanatic who doesn't care about truth or reality, but only the victory of his beliefs and illusions. Never waste time on discussions that make no sense. There are people who, for all the evidence presented to them, do not have the ability to understand. Others who are blinded by ego, hatred and resentment, and the only thing that they want is to be right even if they aren’t.
When IGNORANCE SCREAMS, intelligence moves on.
This thought process is exactly why we are where we are today. For the those that know the truth have stayed silent and have let the asses control the masses
Exactly. Falsities needs to be cut off at the root before they turn into deeply ingrained delusion. Allowing it to build over years and THEN trying to combat it is a recipe for disaster, as we've seen.
Potus never lets false narratives slide. We did that with global warming and look where we are.
TRUMP WON.
The point being that somethings are "global warming" and other things are "blue grass"
I think you missed the point - arguing with the libs do nothing to change the libs minds. Libs usually will only get into those kinds of discussions when they know they have the numbers (an overwhelming number of other libs) to back them up. A better approach is ridicule. Mock them for their beliefs without debating them. Pay them no respect for their thoughts because you cannot talk them out of their false beliefs. If you are not good at those types of engagements - better to not get involved in them. Another way to accomplish this is by being more insane then even they are so as to demonstrate their insanity taken to it's extreme - the shop teacher in Canada is a good example (assuming he's wearing the ginormous fake boobs as a protest). Now the parents, that might not have said anything about a tranny that was trying to actually appear like a normal woman, are up in arms because the school board supports the teacher's "right" to look that way because they would be caught in their hypocrisy if they did not.
Arguing with every fool encountered very quickly turns into the "oh look, a kitty" syndrome that is known these days as ADHD.
Proclaming truth is quite different from arguing with fools, ask DJT.
And seeking unneeded confirmation for what one knows to be true can justifiably be thought of as weakness or at least weakness in conviction that one's ideas are in fact true ideas, which is largely the point of the parable.
Intelligence is KNOWING the truth. The donkey might be colorblind but the grass is still green. Letting him get away with his error could rob him of being tested.Raised a few children who could argue that black was white. Did I concede. Heck no. And I am glad I wasted my time.
Yeah, the moral of OP story isnt good. We are all fools about something and had to learn better. You might not convince them of their error on the spot, but you might plant the seed that eventually does. Or you might convince any bystanders listening to the debate. Most people have been brainwashed and they don't even understand why they believe what they believe.
Yeah this sounds like a moral concocted by the Cabal to discourage the intelligent from fighting back against stupidity.
Just because the donkey sees the grass as blue does not mean that the donkey is color blind or even wrong. The boundaries between colors is actually cultural, and in some cultures, the color of healthy grass (or even a 7-up can) falls firmly in blue. Some cultures recognize more colors than you, and some recognize less.
So is the grass actually green or blue?
This is a question of perspective, and some disappointments are just that. Arguing about these issues is pointless although it is important and healthy to understand and discuss the different perspectives.
Some things are not perspective-dependant. Knowing the difference between the two is important.
Yea, like color.
Color is science. Literally black and white and roygbiv.
It ain’t just a gay thing.
Uh huh, read Schrodinger on color.
Here's his theory -
https://link.springer.com/book/10.1007/978-3-319-64621-3
So you are going to argue that entire cultures seeing traffic lights as red, yellow, and blue are wrong?
How do you know that you are not wrong? Is this determined simply by the people around you? Is it determined by the size/power of your culture?
The only grass that’s blue is country music
Give an example of this.
Most cultures agree and recognize the existence basic colors: red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple. This is demonstrated by the existence of equivalent words in the languages of these cultures.
However, cultures don't agree on where the dividing line between these colors is. So if you had a spectrum printed out on a strip of paper, and you asked people around the world where green ends and blue begins, you would find a variety of different color boundaries.
This is often cited in discussions about whether language changes how we see the world or whether language is a reflection of the world we see.
Some cultures, usually considered primitive, do not recognize or distinguish as many colors as English speakers and many other cultures. Russians actually have one additional color - what we would call dark blue and light blue they consider two distinct colors as different as red and orange.
If I am remembering correctly, there was a native group in the USA that didn't make a distinction between yellow and orange, so if you held up color chips and asked them to identify the different colors, they would screw up in distinguishing between these two colors. More interestingly, as they learned English, they became more proficient at distinguishing the two colors, and this proficiency correlated with their English language ability.
Sometimes things that we might assume to be universally true are only true within our own context.
How is right and wrong (truth) determined?
It seems there are only three options for determining truth:
Truth is determined by a transcendent source (e.g. laws of math for mathematical truth, divine for spiritual/moral truth.
Truth is determined by a small group of elites (e.g. the vaxx is safe and effective, mostly peaceful protests)
We each determine what is true for ourselves (which is actually a false choice - just try this in the face of those pushing option #2.
Much of the fight today is actually not about whether the grass is green or blue. That is largely irrelevant. The real fight is about the ultimate source for truth.
Didn't want to jump the gun and assume, but it does appear your argument is language based.
The problem is, the color is still objective. There are only so many wavelengths of light in the visible spectrum. The classifications are irrelevant. Words are made up to represent reality. Whether you call it a different color, shade, or anything else, everyone will see orange and yellow as different. They don't physically see the colors as the same, even if they classify them as such.
The source of this truth is observational. Anyone who actually isn't color-blind (i.e. can't physically differentiate between shades no matter how it's explained) can for themselves observe that a lemon and an orange are different. How they classify that may change, but the observation doesn't. It's not up to opinion, and it isn't up to the elites.
If you look on a graph of the color spectrum and place 2 dots, those are always going to be different "colors". Anyone whose eyes are not damaged or adversely affected in some way will perceive those differences. How they classify it is a contrivance of language. They can SEE the difference.
Geeze, could you take this story more literally? Now, please get into a discussion of rods and cones effects on color perception.
I think you missed the point. Sometimes things that we might assume to be universally true are only true within our own context.

No, I got the point - I'm not a 3 y/o. News flash - the OP's story was an allegory - your reply was as if the story was of actual events. It's perfectly fine to disagree with the conclusions of the story but, why debate the cultural differences of color perception? I'd love to have you explain whether or not lions, tigers, and donkeys speak a common language or why the donkey and tiger are hanging out, talking about grass. If this was based on actual events, the story would have ended with the tiger having donkey for dinner as the guest of honor.
Uh huh - go to Kentucky.
That donkey may have been a Kentucky donkey.

I think that is the attraction of social media like FB & Twatter for many folks....as in the comments sections they can constantly argue over stupidity to enforce their own illusions. And when you disagree or point out the truth....RRREEEEEE!
And then the algorithm further silos people into the idiot echo chambers while keeping them away from people who say more reasonable things. When's the last time Facebook recommended a group to you that was remotely right of center or even centrist? It's designed to make right-wingers feel alone.
So absolutely true!
Arguing with liberals still isn’t as frustrating as arguing with “consvertive” never trumpers
Leftards are still more frustrating as they're in direct opposition, "never Trumpers" are annoying in the primaries but still are likely to vote R at the end no matter what. The hard part is keeping the RINOs that they like out of the primaries.
This is sometimes how bans work.
Curveball 🤣🤣
I disagree. We need to continue spreading the truth. See the whining, resisting liberals as a platform for others to see.
Progressives feel the same way about... non progressives. Js
I'm sure some do. Let them.
Let's see which stands victorious, their lies or the truth.
I think it’s universal feeling anytime you’re arguing with someone. Almost everyone feels like they’re right
Yes. Don't argue, but ask questions. That's the only way to get through and plant them seeds.
Excellent teaching moment
I argue with these people online not to change their mind - but to show 3rd party viewers that there are others out there willing to stand up to the lies. If we all cower in fear and silence so will the people in the middle we are trying to wake up. Many people don't participate in political battles but read comments. They are empowered through the idea that there are others out there like them. Same reason the deep state floods twitter with fake bots that support them.
Don't cast pearls before swine.
The last line in your post, in particular, is very good.
Came here to say this
TLDR: You can't make an intelligent argument against stupid.
Talking to a radio.
Damn bro, that was a certified hood classic 👌

The lion replied: "Come here, let me remove those blue-tinted media contact lenses you have on. There, now get the F outta here."
Parable over.
Kentucky Blue Grass is green, but Acapulco Gold isn't.
Ah, a flash from the past.
We need more of this attitude. Instead of easing our time and energy on retards, we take away that time and energy that we could have used for something that is actually useful in life.
In this day and age, you only lose when you engage with certain types. Because these faggots have no intention to actually entertain logic, while here you are actually invested, but tricked, you only come out a loser for wasting time and effort, and at the same time probably ended up being dumber in the process.
Or as in the movie "Wargames" the AI computer concluded that the only way to win (either Tic Tac Toe or Thermonuclear War) is to not play.
Never argue with drunks or fools.
Who is More foolish, the fool or the fool who follows it-ObiWan Kenobi
What an interestingly insightful parable. The version I use is way shorter than this but I like this one, as it has more variables to grasp to reach the conclusion.
Thanks for this. Pretty good!!!
Absolutely correct.
If you look at John 1:5, you'll see this verse:
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome it."
It seems to say that 'light' is stronger than 'dark'. But that's only one meaning. (John likes to use multiple meanings, just like someone else we know.)
The Greek word that is translated as 'overcome' can equally be translated as 'comprehend' (and it is, in some Bibles). Therefore, an alternate (truthful) meaning is:
"The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness cannot comprehend it."
The Greek word (katalambano) means 'to take hold of' or 'to grasp'. In the physical sense, that means 'overcome' -- but in the mental sense, it means that the 'children of the dark' simply cannot comprehend the message of light.
Is it just me, or are parables (like the OP's) and Bible verses (like this) making more and more sense nowadays?
Wisdom and common sense are rare commodities today.
Appreciate this interpretation. And agree with you on these types of verses making more sense in this age. It’s almost like our eyes and comprehension of these words are being enhanced during this time.
Feels as though it’s all designed to arm us with knowledge and confidence in face of the battles we face.
I copy n pasted this verbatim to FB ..... thank you fren
Plagiarism is OK, cuz I plagiarized it from somewhere else.
And the dumb fuck Lion props up the dumb fuck ego of the ass. Tiger is the only intelligent individual, he respects authority, and the chain of command. What a perfect analogy of our leadership! Being back asswards as fuck and making sense only in the most obscure fashion.
What a dumb fuck of a Lion. Embarrassing. Tigers should overthrow the dumbfuck Lions. Tigers are WAY bigger.
But the dumb fuck who wrote the meme doesn't understand that tigers don't live alongside Lions.
Shitty meme, dumb fuck author, low correlation with reality. 2/10.
That was a fun read.
Good one banjo man!
By happy happenstance, my wife is named Denise too. She sings and plays autoharp.
Awesome! My hubby and I don't sing or play, but we love to listen and are thankful to be living in Tennessee!
👍 Yes, I love this state.
The love of money is the “root” of all evil. There is a time to be quiet and there is time to proclaim truth. Money can conquer the most wise king. Many aspects to consider.
I kind of agree with that sentiment. No use wasting my breath on them. I've got other things to do.
Many liberals live in liberal echo chambers, where they've heard from birth from their parents, friends, neighbors, teachers, professors, news, television, movies, and music that the grass is blue. It can take some doing to show them the grass is green, but they can be shown, and once they realize it's green, they're more passionate than most about showing others.
Mark Twain once said that it's easier to fool someone than it is to convince them they have been fooled.
Not just liberals. It depends on the topic. Try arguing with a conservative whose whole family got a cold at the same time that viruses don’t exist. By their arrogant derision you’d think they’d actually seen a virus with their own eyes.
A stickied post that has nothing to do with Q.
I didn't stickie it. But it does seem to have taken on a life of its own. I guess it resonates with people.
Agreed. We cannot control others. All we can do is control ourselves, and make sure that we are not unknowingly behaving like the donkey in any aspect of our lives.
Another example:
Abraham Lincoln once asked an audience how many legs a dog has if you count the tail as a leg. When they answered “five,” Lincoln told them that the answer was four. The fact that you called the tail a leg did not make it a leg.
The DS/cabal twist language as a means to twist emotions, and then work to control people through their emotions. This works, since most people are morons that allow their emotions to control their behavior (donkey).
Only facts based on verifiable true data matters for those of us that are logical free-thinkers (tiger, lion).
For everybody else, you have to tell them stories (narratives) that affect their emotions - since thinking logically is not something that they are able to do for themselves. Sad, but true.
Edit: this is what the white hats are doing now in order to wake up the sheeple...
